Yeah I'm not well acquainted with Macross toys outside Bandai and Arcadia,
-
Almost makes me want to get a KC valk. Almost.
-
At the TN store in Akihabara. Hard to tell from the pic but the 17S is tiny next to the 19. Bandai truly did just recycle the 171. Battroid
-
Beautiful! That should be what we're getting out of the box. Freaking Bandai.
-
Mine is still sitting in HLJ PW until the tariff situation is settled, but you jerks posting all these great pics made me go pick up another one so I can actually handle it myself. Thank goodness for Yahoo auctions!
-
Fantastic work, as always! Did you paint the landing gear too?
-
There's a parallel universe out there where Delta was a good show and band released all 5 sets of supers.
-
Another freaking reissue. At least it's something I might actually buy. Though I'm worried that it will have worse QC than the original release because pretty much all of Bandai's releases post-covid have had spotty QC, at best.
-
Looks like HLJ added a time limit to their "unlimited" private warehouse. Guess my Fire Valkyrie and other stuff is going to sit there until the tariffs are rescinded or March 31, 2026, whichever comes first.
-
Excellent poses and pics!
-
Of course Kawamori is going to give his seal of approval to Bandai no matter what deficiencies the toy has...
-
It looks like more than 50% of this thing is just straight up recycled 171 parts. Which is nonsense as the 171 is to the 17 like the VF-19 is to the YF-19: same aircraft series, but should consist of 100% different parts.
-
Drunken pose is still a pose!
-
Yamato painted them the correct color. Bandai just trolling us now.
-
I'll forgive the janky VF-17 if Bandai gives us a red Miria version! (Staying in fighter mode, of course.)
-
I might get one, but it's staying permanently in fighter mode. That battroid is fugly. Just like with the upcoming VF-19, this ain't replacing my Yamatos.
-
So the thing about the VF-27 is that it never got a true renewal version like the 25 where it was redesigned from the ground up. The "renewal" 27 was just a slightly tweaked V1 DX from the original terrible Frontier toys, and the revival is just a slightly tweaked version of that. Which means the revival is essentially a 15 year old toy design, older than the 25 renewals. And the stripes on the hip plates are still wrong.

Get that bad boy set up! I didn't have to fix the joints on the revival armored 25. So much nicer without the glossy finish too. -
Stock stands are always mediocre at best. Thank goodness for people like @BroTaku79

The revivals improved the joints over the previous version. Setting up the armored 25F was a gigantic hassle as it was floppy mess right out of the box. Needed to strengthen the hips, shoulders, ankles, and wings before putting it all together. -
