I'm a little wary of buying Bandai valks from Japan because of all the QC issues that they often have. Mine had a droopy canard that couldn't be raised all the way up and was just a huge eyesore. I "fixed" mine by purchasing one off Amazon and then swapping and returning the defective unit. So there's one benefit of having it available on Amazon here. It was the same way I "fixed" the broken antenna on my YF-21.

Don't forget that if you live in the US you'll be paying an extra 30% if you order from HLJ. I haven't preordered anything from them when it became clear they're charging well above the tariff rate for Japan. I wish I could cancel my existing POs and PW items from them, which is probably why they changed their cancelation policy not too long ago to be much more draconian.

I like how the HLJ order deadline is 3 days in the past. Still don't see how this is a "revival" seeing as nothing has changed from the original release, aside from the increased price and lack of the first edition stand.

The backpack can be removed easily enough from the main body, but actually opening the backpack to replace the tailfins is another story. The backpack is glued together pretty good, so it's not going to be easy to open it without breaking or damaging it.

Did anyone ever come up with a fix for the droopy canard? If not, I guess I will resort to the same "fix" that I used for the YF-21 antenna issue: keep buying and exchanging it on Amazon until I get a copy that isn't messed up.

Maybe Bandai will print "01" on one of the stabilizers, claim it was intentional and totally not a screwup, and then include a decal sheet for it on the next Hayate 31J reissue.

Mine is still sitting in HLJ PW until the tariff situation is settled, but you jerks posting all these great pics made me go pick up another one so I can actually handle it myself. Thank goodness for Yahoo auctions!

Another freaking reissue. At least it's something I might actually buy. Though I'm worried that it will have worse QC than the original release because pretty much all of Bandai's releases post-covid have had spotty QC, at best.

Looks like HLJ added a time limit to their "unlimited" private warehouse. Guess my Fire Valkyrie and other stuff is going to sit there until the tariffs are rescinded or March 31, 2026, whichever comes first.
