Anybody want to sell me a VF-1S open left hand?
Graham
Yeah, You can have one of mine. Send me a PM so I have something to remind me when they all come in.
-
Gah! you my friend, are going to run out of space real fast!
I put more shelves yesterday
But I had to move all of my trophies and plaques from roadracing to the spare room. I don't think they are happy. One of my endurance trophies got into a little tussle with a couple Fokers last night......the trophie lost

Probably the Hughes 1:1 scale FV-0A to be released in 2009.
just kidding. But it would be interesting.
Crap, I'm going to need more shelves
-
Before everyone goes an gets a mortgage on their kids so they can get a bunch of VF-0S's with boosters lets wait till my second one gets here and I can play with that one too.
I would hate to be known as "That guy who told us that piece of crap was good"
-
That's cool man. These beg to be painted. I ordered 6 VF-1S's and a few more J's yesterday. I think I will need to bust out the paint and get workin' here soon
-
I would be surprised if they keep them in scale ruskivfaussie because it seems that most of the revoltechs are the same hight. Is that right? I am not sure. If they are all the same hight then it would follow that whatever other mech they make will not be in the same scale such as the Rau or the yfs or the sv.
That’s probably a safe bet. I have a pile of Revvies here and they are all the same size. It's kinda cool. It's like they exists in the "Galaxy Of Equality"

To do the knees you don't pull straight out, you pull out and down, it doesn't feel like a sleeve mechanism but some sort of a hinge.
I just got it. Man, those suckers where in there tight. I would never have pulled that hard if I hadn't seen the pictures of the other one and you giving me the "nudge".
I don't think there are any "floppy" problems with this VF-0S, LOL
-
What do you guys think about starting a thread about what the best thread ever was?
-
Sqidd thanks for posting all this. If I can scrounge up the money, I'll be picking up one of these bad boys as it sounds like the QC department did their job on this release. I appreciate your efforts.
No problem (this is a response to everyone). I will have another one here on Friday. After I get that sucker out of the box I will transform it all the way to batroid and back to fighter (thats how it will be displayed) and let you guys know if that one has the same level of quality.
Next up I will be transforming my "old school" VF-0S into Batroid for display later today. Lets hope I don't have floppy shoulders and crap feet.

Nah... I'm pretty sure you're no idiot. I recall mine at first was pretty tough to extend out, but eventually I got it. I think one of them was partially glued too. It might've been over glued by their crazy factory workers. Well you can also try this... loosen the screw on the inner thigh which holds it together.
***EDIT***
Oh yea to note... the blurry hind knee pictured only had four notches out to the split from the upper thigh. I actually had one more notch to go and wasnt pictured. So It should extend to a total of five full notches out to the split (knee swivel) from the upper thigh.
Cool, thanks for the insight. I will go at it with some tools next. I applied quite a bit of pressure to it and it did not budge and pulling the leg off would have probably ruined my evening, LOL.
I am putting shelves uo right now, but I will go after his knee's Mafia style this ebening.
Thanks for the heads up

I'm looking for a professional artist in Southern California who can paint some kits for me. Thanks!!
Does he need to be in CA? I have a guy who has done one piece for me and is currently working on another. He is OUTSTANDING! If you want his contact info PM me.
-
I know this would involve splitting up a kit, but I am wondering if anyone may have some of these sitting around that need a home for some strange reason.
I intend to put them on an Anglebird if I can get them.
thanks

What is it?
Yamoto 1/48 VF-1S Foker. Macross can't be better represented tha that. My $.02
-
Sure I got you on those.
I think I figured it out....kinda. Mine is not panel lined so it's not as easy to tell, but if you look at the "ribbed" part on the back of the knee that is part of the upper leg, the area where the hamstings would connect to the back of the knee I don't have as many lines showing as you, therfore my nose will not angle down as far as yours will. I pulled....HARD! and it is not going to move any further than it is. Where you are able to make a lets say 90 deg bend with the knee I can only make a 75 deg one and that is preventing me from going nose down when spreading the leggs apart. Verry odd indeed, this would mean that they made quite a design change in this area....or I am an idiot.
-
Oh i am glad it was i am happy. I think a lot of people are just wondering why it is released like that seeing as how it never once appeared like that in the show. Some people just have questions, like maybe it was featured like that else where.
I agree 100%, I was curious more than anything, like maybe I missed something.
But as stated above it did make good maketing sense, in theory and in practice. The idea was good and the market has spoken, they are a hot item.

I dislike Evangelion as well, but I purchased the Evangelion Unit 00 (Blue variant) and I have to say it's fantastic. I'd recommend it for any non-fan like myself.
I got the Unit 00 (yellow variant) and he rocks. He's hangin' out right now sighting in something across my office with his "I don't know what but it's big" caliber sniper rifle.
I also got the 04 Unit (silver) and he is creepy cool. I have him armed with his MP5 right now and he's lookin for trouble!
Fun toys.
-
no one actually said it, but there are a few comments that made it sound that way.
but judging by your response, there is no difference.
Not that I can tell, I have the "old" VF-0S sitting right here next to it and they are the same as far as I can tell.
-
Yea the trick to that is you need to bend the knee joint as much as possible while using the knee pads (covers) to provide some resistance for the knee swivels to keep them from swinging into a split.
***EDIT***
I'll provide a pic when I get the chance:
Hmmmmm, I'm getting close, but I'm missing something. Do you have a full on side view of that you can post up? I have a problem with the dangle of my angle I believe
-
@ sqidd...
I believe you might've missed a step for the legs in gerwalk mode. There is another ratchet feature that allows the gerwalk mode to get the "nose down" angle. Check back in the manual. The ratchet is in the lower part of the thigh above the knee swivel. Thats why you might've not seen it.
***EDIT*** reference pic...
Pictured here in the second and third transformation step from fighter to gerwalk:

Yeah, I got that guy. But it's still just a major balancing act to get it to not spread it's segs (do the splits) when it's in the nose down posistion. I did just put it on a peice of paper and tried that posistion and it was not nearly the same level of dificulty. I'm pretty sure they key is to provide some resistance for the feet in regards to them sliding sideways and therefore making the splits.
-
Please remove the shoulder covers and look at the plastic beneath. I'm curious to see if there are stress marks. It was cracking plastic that made the shoulders loose.
I checked back there, no stress marks at all. The "shoulder pads" are just simply "loose" when they are anywhere short of the full upright posistion. When going into the fully upgright posistion you can feel them "click in" like they were designed to do that. I suspect that the shoulder pads are not meant to be tight as they swivel, or at least it feels that way.

I got a VF-0A and it did nothing for me. I sold it.

And i am not sure why the VF-1js are always packaged with FPs because it is true it never appeared like that in SDFM or DYRL, but i guess since it is the most recognizable valk from the show (there is a debate between this and the skull one, but i say the 1J because it is in the opening of every episode) and FPs are a hot commodity that they would just package them together to kill two birds with one stone, i could be wrong though.,
Thats kind of what I was thinking. I was fairly certain that my display's were not "TV" accurate. It doesn't matter if it looks cool, but it's nice to know if you wanted to be a purist that you could change things around a bit and get what you want.
I think I am going to display one of my Roy's with Hikaru in the pilots sheet and my TV fastpacks that I got with my Hikaru VF-iJ "TV" version. The wing already has 001 on it so that is accurate. That would be a "TV" accurate Hikaru "Skull One" I think.
I could do a TV Roy by simply removing his fastpacks I currently have on him. What was his wing number? was is 001 also?

HLJ hasn't put anyting up yet for pre order right? or who else is taking preorders..
I get all my mechs from HoHotoys out of NY. They are great. I have pre-orders on:
- VF-1S 25th x2
- YF-19 25th x2
- SV-51 Nora x2
- Mad Max 1:18 scale
The best part is that I only give the a $50 deposit on each. And I have been getting them before the HLJ shipments seem to go out.
