Yes. Looks to be a simple enough customization, if we have the replacement decals.

Looking at the tampo, do you think it is a viable proposition?

I took a look at it and aside from the yellow stripes it shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe they won't be 100% accurate. But I wouldn't think that necessary.

I have an extra set of armor that I plan to paint/customize to be Roy's color, but looking the tampo printing on the set give me pause. Creating decals for this project is kind of beyond me now.

Maybe waiting for Bandai to release the Roy and Max color is a better option but I have no faith that it will actually be available.

Anyone have interest in creating the decal as a joint project?

I was hoping to do the same but the yellow strips are going to be the biggest issue. The only way I could come up with was to just do them as yellow stripes and lay them in at the angles they need to be. My skills aren't good enough for that though.

All of sudden I don't feel as bad not jumping on the bandwagon..But it looks cool!

I "pose and forget" my toys so I'm not particularly upset. It's not like I transform things more than once or twice. But it is disapointing.

    And yeah, it looks cool!

I'm guessing they did the re-design with a different team than handled the original DX design? (internal vs T-Rex??)

Just my take as a Mechanical Engineer. This sort of thing is a bit expected when you have new people working on an existing design.

    That checks out.

I would hope it's at least improved that much, but considering how sloppy the big rocket packs on the massive armor pack are, I really have no faith in their ability to make anything stay in place.

I know Bandai can make sturdy ratcheting joints.. they just frequently choose not to, for some reason.

I guess mine isn't the only junky one.

I'm not upset because I don't play with my toys once on display. But, I would be happier if I knew it was top quality.

Alfred is in the CNC shop all the time, getting things done. The Christian Bale movies handled this well by having Wayne industries be a weapons manufacturer and Bruce just keeps walking off with the prototypes.

Alfred also keeps the house clean and feeds him.:D

The Bale movies sorta did OK explaining that away. Except for the fact that the only person at Wayne Industries that notices the Batmobile was the Tumbler was an accountant. There would have been a MASSIVE team of people involved in making that thing a reality.

LOL, I said it was possible in the quote. This is how I would rank the issues:
    1) UV
    2) Heat
    3) Poor quality plastic (this can vary from batch to batch and even part to part (especially if multiple different plastics are used) of the same toy and probably varied more in the past)
    4) Other - including outgassing of packaging
UV and heat also make any issues with 3 and 4 worse, compounding issues. A cool, dark, dry place is the best you can do and if it STILL yellows it's probably #3, possibly compounded by #4 might.

The real problem with Styrofoam was wear, not outgassing. Putting a toy in Styrofoam causes a friction rub that can strip paint. That's why toys now come with a layer of plastic between them and the Styrofoam.

I mostly agree with this. But, I think one variable that can be very damaging/yellowing and is very common should be much further up on the list. Or, at the top of the list depending on what the list is. Confused yet? I am!:D

I like your list in an "all cause" sense. Most of the time toys are displayed. So UV is going to be at the top pf the list and packaging will be at the bottom.

    But....

From a storage perspective the list gets inverted for the most part. I would combine heat and outguessing together for the #1 spot. The former exacerbating the latter. The zillion dollar question is if it is stored in a cool/dry place will that outgassing be reduced to zero or near zero. Maybe. I have no idea. I'm not taking that chance though. I got an extra 31AX. I'm removing it from the standard packaging and re-boxing it with no foam just in case even though my toys are stored in a cool/dry place.

  7. I called this December 2019. Which was when my 6mo protections were expiring though PayPal and I did a charge-back on about $4000 in orders. I offered NY the option of refunding my money and immediately invoicing me for "fresh" ones. And in doing so re-starting the 6mo clock. They weren't having any of it. In retrospect the gall they had by trying to make me feel bad/guilt trip me for not trusting them is hilariously ironic.

It was plainly obvious that NY was robbing Peter to pay Paul in a big way. Which is the first warning sign that the ship is taking on water.

On top of that they were working off of an unsustainable business model. Trying to buy units to fill orders on the secondary market.

Then the arms collapse under the weight of the toy that's on the stand.

There is a sweet spot where the arms won't move but the base plate won't crack. Yes, I broke 1-3 base plates to learn this. But the sweet spot is there.

I'm currently looking at 29 Flightpose stands holding toys that don't have cracked base plates. That's not 29 flukes.;)

The plate that holds the arms in place, is it a solid piece or is the underside hollow? I ended up throwing out the flightpose stands because the equivalent part kept breaking all the time.

Don't screw them down so hard.

    Mistborn series, Brandon Sanderson

Stormlight Archive, Brandon Sanderson (the best modern fantasy epic)

Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan (the original modern fantasy epic 15 books)

Dresden Files, Jim Butcher (Soooooo much fun)

Ender's Game Saga, Orson Scott Card

    Mistborn is fantastic.

Dresden files, LOL! Man those books had me cracking up. When he dressed up as a "Dracula" to attend the vampire party I almost fell off the couch!

I haven'r read Ener's Game since high school. May be time to give that a re-read.
