Funny that there were no descriptions on the bag itself to warn kids not to eat that... Or was it only in Japanese?

Prices in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) with normal theaters, Dolby Surround, no IMAX, Euro converted to USD Noon = Mo-Fr: $7.44 - Sa-Su: $10.02(!) Evening = Mo-Th: $8.59 - Fr-Su: $10.02(!) It's a pretty expensive IMO, but life in this country was never cheap. Especially after the introduction of one European currency, pricetags mostly just changed the Dutch guilders (Dfl) to Euro (€)*. So something that had cost 5 DFL just went to 5 Euro overnight. And you want to avoid the weekend when families with little ADHD kids and stupid and drunk on Bacardi Breezer Teens disturb the theater with noise, M&M's flying all over the place and other irritating stuff. The personel of the theaters are not always brave enough to kick them all out. Ah well, civilization is ending here anyway but at least I have a DVD player at home and Internet. *(1 Euro = 2.20371 DFL)

I can't deny that the toy itself is awesome with rich details, but the design itself is quite flawed. Look at that pilot, look at his hands and arms. I would sue the designer for suffering RSI! Especially with so much firepower the seat is more than uncomfortable, with his feet dangeling outside the mech. The absense of armor is a miss, even if the enemy does not have ranged weapons, this seat design doesn't leave the pilot with a decent escaping method, with no pedals or bottom to set your feet off to jump away from the tentacles. He should lift himself up with his arms and then jump out, but this way is not quick enough to get out if the tentacles are already on their way to pierce him. The pilot should be very brave or completely stupid to steer that thing. Okay, i'm overreacting a bit.. *breathe in, breathe out*

Because Yamato doesn't make Robotech toys. Toynami probably feels rather confident in saying they've created the best Robotech toy ever. Because it is. It's jsut not the best Valkyrie ever, not by a long shot. Well said.

Yeah, you can always sell it if you don't like it after all.

OMG OMG OMG... My creditcard balance is making a virtual plunge!!!!!

This morning they told me that the item is going to be restocked next week. About half an hour ago, I recieved an e-mail via paypal from Toys N Joys that the item is sold out, order canceled, money refunded. Ah well the money will be kept for other valks, from another store... <_<
-
Did they announce that to you first that they won't sell it for the sale price ($99.95), or did you ask them if the price would be the same? I still have the order confirmation with the $99.95 price and they didn't tell me that the price went up in their last mail, so if they try sell the miria for above the sale price, I have a proof. Thanks Sturmvogel, I hope so too.

I've got an reply and it says that they are expecting their restock to arrive next week and then will be shipped out..
-
I didn't get any e-mail about the possible out-of-stock of the Millia and now you say there isn't a shipping notice. I should send an e-mail about the status..

OH MY GAWWAD!!!!!! IT'S SO FRIGGIN HUGE. Is that a 1/60 VF-1S or a 1/48 VF-1S standing next to it. That's a whole lot of a woman! I don't think Yamato will release a 1/48 Q-rau very soon, it would be HUGE and will be as high as two stacked 1/48 VF-1x boxes.

I'll go with this one, it's the different personality, even if the toys are basically the same. We have the War Hero who was involved in the development of this fighter, the green Squadron Leader who gets shot down every time his mind is focussed on Minmay, the unbeatable Ace, the sexy alien wife of the Ace who can holds it's own in battles exceptionaly well and even in some collections the clumsy but affable Big Guy. The reason we are still hooked on these toys is childhood magic. Which series had esthetically good looking mechs, piloted by humanoids with cool uniforms (both sides), a relatively good storyline which makes it an anime space opera with nearly no competition? When I was a kid I got only a glimpse of the original Macross, dubbed in Chinese when I saw a cartoon-tape, from the local Chinese video rental. It was the first episode and I was totaly under its spell. The ending with that photoalbum and the ballad would still haunt my mind in the years to come until I get the AnimEigo DVD's this year. (Thanks again JsArclight!) Then Robotech came on a foreign network (Super Channel), little did I know this was a ripp-off of the original, but I tried so see every episode I could and taped it until the network was thrown out of the cable company after a few shows of the Mospeada arc. Now we have internet and one of its benefits is to gather people with the same interests, in this case, our love for Macross!!!! And we buy VALKS! And we are proud and happy!

I guess that are some kind of hellfire pods, more like the Russian version of it. Seen Rambo er.. III? Afghanistan where a Soviet chopper is sowing death and destruction? Looks a lot like it. It's just a guess.
-
Certainly, although I would've liked to see more mech action than that triple soap opera between Isamu, Guld and Myun, the dvd's aren't that expensive, so you can always try them.

I have the video (PAL) Clash of the Bionoids and it's basicly DYRL dubbed in English with original Japanese music. The English Minmay sounds like a nicotine-junkie with a heavy nasal voice, or is it the quality of the tape...? Hikaru sounds like a whiny slow-witted kid, it's just awful.
-
What are those mechs? I've never seen them before (or missed them completely in the previous episodes), Destroid prototypes? Can't display dynamic pages, so here's the link to show the image: http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/getpic...e.php?id=436469

What is cheaper at HLJ? I don't see M&M on their list anymore...
-
Still no e-mail about shipment or the sold out Millia... Maybe they have trouble finding Netherlands on the map...
-
Hmm, i've preorderd 2 Takaras on BBTS, but I'm thinking to add a plastic Hasbro version, just to play with it... Or shall I get the 20th anniversary Prime..? Aaargh!

Hey, you got a better way to rebuild a species in a hurry? It makes perfect sense. And that DOES make sense? There were so many zentradi ships you couldn't see through the cloud. I'm suprised they weren't shooting EACH OTHER while bombarding the planet. The odds of any signifigant population of humans surviving were pretty slim. I know what the Compendium says... I don't think you're realizing how BIG the Earth actually is. The major population centers would surely be annihilated. But there's no reason for the Zentraedi to hit hardly anything in the middle of North Dakota or Siberia or North Korea, or the island of Maya, for example. Maybe the most major towns but outside of them? And sure we're talking about wiping out the majority of our population but EVERYTHING outside of the Grand Cannons? Nonsensical. If they were trying to exterminate, then biological weapons and/or the complete eradication of the surface is necessary (top kilometer), including oceans and all the uncounted little islands out there (Maya anyone?). But over FOUR million gigantic ships... Name four million cities, towns, villages plus collateral damage and humanity is near annihilated... The Grand Cannon did destroy a lot of them, but I doubt that it had took out more than 5% of all the nme ships.

So they aren't trading figures and each box has the same content?

See the discussion on http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...t=ST&f=4&t=2233 to get an indication. I'm pleased that the Euro is higher than the US dollar. (Not so good for European economy, but hey, I can buy Valks a bit cheaper.)

Just picked up Macross Zero HK Boot DVDs...
Wabbit replied to Draykov's topic in Movies and TV Series
Perhaps a link/url would be more helpful than taunting? www.kazaa.com And the 200-230meg version has good quality and subs. Get the latest codecs and updates for your videocard. -
Maybe Hikaru has added something to nullify the radiation from the fish he caught/picked up during preperation..? The same 'medicine' that they (off the movie) had took when they realised they were on the destroyed Earth?
