Very well done!! Looks pretty real.

I would mask the head and the clear visor (use hasegawa yellow masking tape and a x acto knife) and you should be ready to paint the visor grey As Shaorin said, there's no need to pry the head apart.

I see the DYRL? valks off white. If they're grey they must be a very light shade of grey (don't quote me 'cause I'm colorblind ) I guess we all want these kits to be of a real world low viz grey

You could try to wetsand the shinny spots (if they're on bare plastic!). You must find a sandpaper with the proper grit. Yamato's valks have a matte finish so you could try and sand for example inside the backplate ('til you find the same finish). I'd try with a grit between 280-320.

Did you locked the forward fuselage section like it's shown in the instructions? There's a "certain way" to fold the metal hinge in order to lock the nose & cockpit down and be able to use the pegs from the lerx (after this you can actually hold the plane upside down by the nose and it doesn't disconnect). You are right about the legs and arms which are as you said, completely free-floating. I won't try to convince you about CM's design cause it's love it or hate it. In my case, I absolutely love CM's Legioss and find Toynami's interpretation awful. I guess we all have different tastes and standards I don't like the shape of the feet and legs of the toynami legioss (too thick and fat) and the shape of the cockpit and it's curved base of the frame are completely wrong. I do agree that CM's took a lot of liberties in the lineart department in fighter form. It's a pity that you didn't receive a toy according to your expectations and perceived value. Sorry for the poor cellphone pic (I'm at my office!), it's rock solid if it's locked right: -
It's a 1/72 scratchbuild resin kit scultured by Genpachi Tokaimura and modeled by Masanobu Oka Tokaimura has also scratchbuild the VF-4 battroid.

Nice find!!! Thank you. The legs look the propers size tor me. The proportions are spot on!!! Can't wait to see pics of the actual prototype. -
You'd suffer from massive brain damage from all of the inaccuracies portrayed in that book

That's a book published in Argentina in the 90's about robotech and how it was done, DYRL?, games, toys and other merchandise. I have a copy of it.

It's a scratchbuild kit from our own macrossworld master Captain America/John Moscato. Like many of his creations it was available as a limited resin kit.

That's a great point!! Can't remember now if the P is shown in the lineart as being fastpack capable (guess it should be).

Well I guess regarding this whole removable fins issue (I must add that I don't like them too), I'm stubbornly unreceptive to this idea It's part of the design to begin with, so If Yamato went with the removable option they should provide a piece to cover the holes. I feel like it's going the same route as: we don't like fins on the legs, make them removable, we don't like too many head lasers, make them removable and so on... It doesn't seem right. Well maybe cause I'm a cannon/lineart nazi More power to us if they're finnally removable but as I said it doesn't feel right.

Well sometimes the dust adheres to the surface of my toys (guess it's the humid weather) so I have to use water and a soft cloth to get them factory clean.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie

Great review as usual!!! I agree with your score in the durability and build department, on my sample the right leg and the left arm are becoming loose (the shoulder and hip balljoint). I guess with a bit of superglue it should be okay. -
Nice find!!! I still have to watch Orguss

I'm starting to panic again, haven't received installment #3. It's taking 2 months again (like installmet #1) I guess the Canadian Post and the Argentine post sometimes don't get along too well Hope to get the package this week.

Maybe the other port is for the MC-17A Gun Pod Beam Adapter?? -
You've got a nice kit, keep us posted with the progress!!!!

I completely agree, his work when finished, should receive proper recognition!!! Maybe Kawamory or Kazutaka Miyatake should pay him a visit to admire this work of art in person
-
Congrats!!! As kanedaestes said it could well be the first of many more!!! If you are the type of collector that once in a while poses a valk and leaves it on a shelf, then the 1/100 VF-25 is OK. There are other options, if you love this valk design I'd say give the upcoming 1/60 DX version 2 a chance (if money is not an issue)

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Ignacio Ocamica replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'd kill for a RX-93 or a Sazabi in this line / scale / quality. Bandai has done the metal composite Psycho Gundam MkII (I have it) which is massive at 1/144. So I guess a 1/100 RX-93 or even a Sazabi could still be possible. If Bandai perceives the demand is there they might actually go for it.- 6025 replies

Extremely awesome!!! Turned out great!!!! -
I'm an extremist right? Yeah, I refuse to display/mix models with toys! Hope the kit will be easy to track down.
