    They are getting the money Bandai sells X number of VF-171 valks "wholesale price" to e-tailers/retailers. If the e-tailers sell above the suggested retail price is beyond bandai's control. Unless Bandai sells the VF-171 through their webshop directly to the fans (tamashii exclusive). They should've made more units though...

    Guess I'm the only one that doesn't like it a bit. The VF-17 is one of my favorites, but the long nose of the VF-171 kills it for me. I won't preorder so there's going to be one more out there for you guys

    Some pics to show the finish of the flat clearcoat (the hatch to access the cockpit). The first three pics were taken at night with bad light. The last four are more accurate to what the colors look like in person.

    I'm spray painting it with enamels (two coats) and then a flat clear coat. I'm waiting a week for the enamel coats to fully dry, and I've already tested the flat clear coat on some pieces. Very satisfied with the flat finish. I'm not using primer because of the texture of the hdp resin, the paint adheres very well to it. I will use primer for the legs though, to see any imperfections after sanding because I'll use putty to get rid of all the seam lines. Thank you!! Will post more progress pics tomorrow.

    I am, but first I'm doing the Iigaa. Got pushed back. I'm finishing the HDP Regult and then I'll resume the Iigaa scratchbuild.

    Yes, the darker blue was my choice. I like the contrast with the light gray. I'll see how it turns out in a piece with the flat clear coat.

    Thanks!! I was contemplating weathering it but since 90% of my Yamatos are non weathered I'll keep the build as toylike as possible. I'll putty the seam lines and will give it a flat clearcoat finish.

    Guys, need some input about my choice of colors for the Regult. What do you think about the light gray and light blue I chose?
