  1. Oopps. Didn't see the previous post. Reply deleted. Sorry about that.
  2. True. Sometimes I wonder if the price tag really delivers it all. I know I like their version of YF-19 now. (I don't have the previous 19 releases before.) But when I did researching on every releases Yamato made before I really can't believe Arcadia will release something with that price tag. I'm still trying to convince myself why did I bought this to think I could have bought 2 Hot Toys fig for that price. I mean detail wise Hot Toys got the edge. I know they're both different category but still the price and the misses it brings by Arcadia. Is it because they're trying to do a 1 exclusive valk a year with its limited initial run depends on who preordered that's why it costs more? Design and manufacturing-wise? And lower the price afterwards once demands went up for a second run? As a first time buyer like me of new releases, would I wait for the second run? Or gamble on first high-priced releases hoping that if Arcadia decided not to do 2nd printing, got the chance to avail the first time? I guess in the end that's the price we pay as a collector. I mean they will not do it if no one will fall for it, right?
  3. It's guaranteed to happen since the metal part is closely rest on the side of the cockpit. It will happen sooner or later if you don't put protection at first since while transforming into battroid mode, the cockpit will tend to move inside a lot while you trying to put the nose cone and lock it to the torso. Remember by doing this, you need to put force on it. So that makes the rest of the cockpit shake at the back. It's not major shaking and all, but it will still touch it atleast. It happened to me, so I guess the best thing to do once you got yours is cover it with tape suggested by anubis20 or just sand that pointy metal thing. Hope that helps.
  4. The glove thing is true. Especially when handling diecast toys.
  5. Cool! It's a little bit tricky doing that slide the torso thing, but it really does do the trick. Here's the comparison I have from my previous post to the corrected one suggested by anime52k8. I just sand it using my regular model kit sand paper I used. Just enough for not to make contact on the cockpit area. I might do some thin sponge thing and tape it on the corner just for the cockpit to rest on it without touching the metal back. Funny at first because when I'm sanding it, I'm thinking how come it makes silver dust. Only to find out by tapping the back that it was not plastic but metal. Hehehe.
  6. Nice! You're right! That makes sense now. Thanks anime52k8! You made me get up at 3am only to test what you mentioned. Hehehe And it worked! It's still not touching 'literally' the belly but it removes the illusion of a bigger gap than the one I posted earlier. Thanks! Now I can go back to sleep. Will post pic tomorrow comparing the one I posted and one from now. [Edit: Now I realize what's that 'mold/dent' on the sensor/machine gun is. It's not for the cockpit flap, instead, it's the contour of the bottom part of the cockpit. Once it all locks down, the correct way (following anime52k8 suggestion), the mold on the sensor/machine gun will rest upon on the bottom part of the cockpit. Great job, Arcadia! Now release a version that has just the Fold Booster for a cheaper price so I can have an extra YF-19. No regrets. ]
  7. I assumed they used a different model for promoting the figure. Hence, *Actual product may vary*. However, I did try transforming it again and see if I could swivel more the torso downward once the fuselage locks itself. But from what I see, it won't bulge anymore once everything is in place. Actually, what bothers me most is why the 2 sensors on his torso have some mold. First time I transformed it, I thought the cockpit flaps will rest on that mold, which technically, it fits the flaps. But according to the manual, those sensors should be inside (touching the side of the torso) and the flap covering some part of it. In which I pointed it out on the transforming video that I've uploaded recently. Anyways, here's some photos I took regarding the torso concerns. Hope it helps. Wouldn't be nice, Arcadia, if the figure is also as same as the prototype used for marketing.
  8. At first I really don't like the Gerwalk mode for YF-19. But after seeing how solid it is in this mode, it really grows on me. Now I can say it's my favorite YF-19 mode. Here's some shots with my VF-1A and YF-29. My RED and BLACK Squadron. The pilots of my RED and BLACK Squadron: Overall I prefer Isamu's old ride. [Edit: That's the scratch I got on the black paint from transforming into Battroid mode. I did sand some of the back area, only to find out that the back panel was a diecast metal. I was wondering at first how come it's making silver dust while I'm sanding it. Hehehe. ]

  10. You're welcome aaajin. Glad to be of help. And true. I'm worried too everytime I transform this one. It's different than the VF-1's that I have. Those get beating everytime I pull the crotch bar from the fuselage. Hehehe.
  11. Thanks aaajin. Sorry about that, maybe I forgot to do it. Regarding the concerns on the ankle joints, I guess everyone needs to play the ankle joint a litte bit more. What I did when in Battroid mode is, after pulling the joints to open the feet, I pushed back the joints back to the legs. Like 2-3 clicks back. Illusion-wise it looks like the YF-19's wearing a buggy pants and low-cut shoes. But the joint is stiff once it place nicely. Same thing with Gerwalk mode, I try not to pull all the way, but instead just use level 2 (2 clicks pulling?), just the right amount of exposing the joints but not as same as Battroid look. And again, once it place properly, the loose ball feeling is gone. And mine also has that loose ball joint feeling too. But when I tried those mentioned joint-playing, it works out ok. Hope that helps. By the way, I already transformed my YF-19 more than 10 times already. I guess I really like this valk huh. Now, waiting for the renewal YF-21 announcement...
  12. For those of you who were waiting for a transformation video, hope this one will help. Too bad YouTube removed my audio since I have Macross Plus music in the background. Hehehe. No worries, besides the background music, all you will hear is the plastic and clicking sound of the valk plus my sigh and breathe sounds while transforming. Hahaha! Anyways, enjoy!
  13. There's no way those black paint will not scratch at the back when it transformed. It tends to wiggle first while you transform it. But it will lock itself once the transforming is done. I'm assuming in order not to scratch those is we have to sand a little bit those contact parts from the back panel (along the back area of the nect/head where the cockpit rests), like the edges to make it smooth. I already scratched mine unintentionally. It's not a major scratch though. At least it's just a small line when I checked it. Hope that helps. Does anyone tried to pull the ankle joints a little bit more than what we see from the photos? I did it accidentally when I was trying to pull to expose the feet. It looks a little bit awkward since it really exposes the ankle joints. But is that how it is to extend the legs more? Good thing it didn't lock itself so I push it back again to normal extension. *what a relief*
  14. Hahaha! Actually she hates it, Mommar. She always makes fun of my finger. And now my son have my fat fingers too. My mini-me, she says. Hehehe. Anyways, I'm planning on to purchase the hands made my Kurisama. I'm not sure, but do YF-19 have the same forehand designs as VF-11? There's one hand set there at Shapeways but it says not for sale. Too bad that's the set I want to order. Great pics Swoosh. I love this particular one.
  15. Thanks David for the reply. Actually, I do have what my wife calls it... fat fingers. So that small room you mentioned is kinda tricky for me. Hehehe. What I use is a tweezer, round edge so I won't harm the plastic. But even though I use tweezer, it's really hard to push it. So I thought maybe there's a trick on how to do it.
  16. By the way, after purchasing and transforming this figure for 5 times now, I really do wish they revisit again the YF-21 and release a renewal version. And maybe include the Fast Pack and Fold Booster there since YF-21 doesn't have lots of missile to showcase. But somehow keep it under $300. I will not hesitate to press the Pre-order button if that happens. And reissue also the VF-4G in Hikaru's color scheme seen in Flashback. I think that's it. Thanks! Happy collecting guys!
  17. Hi everyone. First time post since 2008. In that span of time, I did have a chance on acquiring 2nd hands of Yamato 1/60 Hikaru's VF-1A and VF-1S both with bundled Super & Strike Packs. Which IMHO, the best valk ever made. A Bandai DX YF-29 Isamu variant. An upcoming YF-25 Prophecy on preorder. My wife and my 5-year old son. And now this newly and improved YF-19 from Arcadia. I know that I didn't had a chance on getting the first YF-19 so I really can't compare on how great the new figure is. But seeing and reading some of your comments here and also comparing the new figure from the last 19 variant from Yamato, the 19Kai via online, I really do say that as a beginner on collecting new 1/60 valks, this is a superb toy... though a lot of you say that it's really expensive. And I do agree on that. If only they've included the Fold Booster, then maybe, maybe I can justify the price tag that came with it. Regarding for members who had trouble with Amiami, hope it gets resolve fast. I also ordered via Amiami (my first purchase from them) and after reading the tragic posts from fellow members here, I took a video opening the brown box up to opening the valk box itself just in case. Anyways, I still don't have photos to showcase my valks, though a lot of you already posted great photos, and I don't want to ruin the forum with my crappy phone cam shots. Hehehe! But I did however snapshot a specific area since I have question on it. For me, it's really not that hard to follow the manual photo instructions, and from what I can say it's really straight-forward. I did have more trouble transforming the YF-29 than this one. Hehehe. My question based on the photo below is the metal swivel thing on the crotch area. Is there an easy way on pressing the small button so I can swing the metal part easily when transforming the valk to battroid? Thanks in advance.
  18. i love these new figures from Yamato. though i love better the articulations from Revoltech. guess, i just need to buy both sets just to satisfy my urge. hehehe. wish the ones from Yamato includes also the Fast Packs for each YF's.

    Macross Revoltech

i'm definitely going to get these new Macross figures from Revoltech. and also the ones from GN-U.
  20. oppsss... sorry guys. didn't know there was already a thread for that CM. guess i got so carried away when i saw that one. and this is the only thread that i saved on my bookmarks. looks like everyone is so excited to see some photos of the prototype. hope they release it soon. so i can decide now. thanks for the welcome guys.
  21. hey everyone. this is my first post on this wonderful Macross forum. i'm also curious on this upcoming 1/60 scaled figure of YF-21. that's why i'm waiting for this one to come out first before deciding if i should get the YF-19 later on. been checking this thread for awhile now and there's still no official image yet from Yamato. anyways, the reason for this post is... since you guys are the expert on Macross. maybe you can check this Yamato CM video for the upcoming 1/60 YF-21 figure that i've downloaded this morning from the net if it's genuine or not. if it is, then this is the first time we saw the prototype with its colors. but then again, how come there's already a CM knowing there's no official image of the YF-21 yet. thanks. and more power to Macrossworld.
