Oh man. Would love to have this as the 'ultimate' perfect henkei Valkyrie VF-1 unit in 1/6 scale. As what they're doing for the Kawamori Exhibit. Yellow or Red, it doesn't really matter.

Wow! Great purchase! -
Just want to ask something on the DX VF-171 line. EX was produced before the CF variants, correct? Thanks.

Well, I took a risk and ordered something from the 'shopify' link and somehow they point out to the same Facebook link users and they just ship my order last Friday with a tracking number. If it arrives, will update you guys. Btw, i tried to load the www.therobotechstore.com, and it's just a default Network Solutions page that has a link on top saying 'click if you're the owner of the site'. As of today June 29, 2015, 10:27am PST: THEROBOTECHSTORE.COM ROBOTECHSTORE.MYSHOPIFY.COM

You're welcome. Glad to be of help. As always, superb pictures. Question: Anyone here who transform it to Gerwalk notice the big gap from the nose cone area to chest area? Thanks.
-
I believe it's a customized model kit based on the new designed VF-1J for Macross First.

[sze=3]They kinda look nice. Wish it has more in line with Medicom RAH so it has a beautiful 'anime' face. [/size] Yup, a little creepy. If only too they could release the 1/2000 or 1/3000 SDF-1 and more affordable.

No pics of the real sample?

Thanks Jenius. So no pilot dolls, right? Do you remember this is when? And is there like a picture floating on the web for Minmay? Thanks!

Yamato doesn't have a long leg. It's just all in the viewing angle. Hehehe. j/k Hahaha! Me too, I just look back and forth on the video transformation from Bandai. And when I couldn't put the tabs on the wing to lock in place in the leg Fast Pack armor, that's the only time I looked in the manual. And here's the thing, they didn't even clarify properly on installing those Advance packs. I mean, they're all in pictures and drawings and they didn't even put it there. As for your transformation error, sad to say sir, there is. You missed something. On the chest area, above those vulcan/machine gun/sensor pipes, you forgot to pull it out.

How clean is this one, spanner? No exposed wing locking tabs on the Fast Pack leg armors? Just had to ask since you remove those shoulder bits and place the legs in the proper position. Does it connnect all locking tabs to the Fast Packs? Thanks. Edit: Wait, did you remove the Leg Fast Packs as well? If so, sorry. I didn't catch that.

Cool! I guess, it's the same one that I posted a few pages ago. Now it's all painted. Did they officially release any 1/6 or 1/8 figures before? Besides those cancelled PopBox.

This is what I call a 'Wallet-Breather' release periods. Nostalgia.

Hey tryoness. Just a thought on looking back on this one... almost kinda Matrix-y.
-
Yamato/Arcadia already nailed that one down even though I don't like it since it looks 'clown-ish' and more like 'boxing gloves' for me. I really still prefer the DYRL hands over the TV series hands. Well, come to think of it, VF-0's almost has the same features as the VF-1's meaning even if it's animated via CG, it still has a longer wings than animated 'short wings'. Imagine now if the VF-1's were animated today via CG? It will almost be as identical as to what Yamato/Arcadia did. The only thing that they didn't do right is the proper transformation sequence for both VF's on the pelvic parts which is the folding intakes to the nosecone in which Bandai did on their 1/72 model kits. I don't think it's doable to maintain the 'perfect transformation' method.

Yup, somebody mentioned that before.

So Saburo mentioned this earlier and I also noticed it last night when I was putting the Advance Packs to play with it in Fighter mode. From what it says in the instruction manual, the wing root tab to be inserted on the leg's Fast Pack were from the bottom part. So how come Bandai's Official Photo says differently? Like how's Bandai's photo shows the Fast Pack is overlapping the wing root area. I compared all the shown parts to the actual and somehow it shows the same, like how the leg is aligned to the shield/arm area, except for that leg's Fast Pack overlapping on the wing area. Even if the exposed locking tabs are erased via Photoshop, how come the Fast Pack is aligned somehow to the wing roots? I know all those 'actual products may vary' excuse, but why?

After transforming it back to Fighter mode last night less than 2 hours, I really find it more difficult than Arcadia's YF-19. After reading Graham's and Spanner's post, they've almost said everything what I noticed on this Valk. In the end, I like the whole concept but somehow kinda hate how it was implemented. Like Graham said, there's too much locking tabs everywhere to not to implement it in between the legs, shoulders, and shield during Fighter mode. It would be nice if there's some locking tabs in there. Spanner showed something regarding how to straighten the Gunpod during Fighter mode by not connecting the arms to the shield, Which I guess is ok, but you will leave a big gap in between of arm and shield. It's probably doable if we could lay out the shield without the neck cover. But sad to say, that can't be done since the neck cover is connected to the shield. The only way to do that is remove the neck cover from shield rail. Saburo pointed out the wing tabs is not connected to anywhere when the Fast Pack is attached to the leg. I understand why it is but it's an eye sore to see an exposed tab esp in an 'ADVANCE Mode'. This is what the mode they're selling, right? And they have exposed locking tabs. And people complain about the exposed tabs on the VF-2SS prototype. And speaking of ADVANCE Mode, those big boosters have different pegs from each other. I know it's a 'dot' and a 'rectangle' tabs. But one of mine have longer rectangle tab over the other, and one has faded circle tab from the other. And yes, even a slight touch would get this Boosters off the wing. Speaking of Tampos, I really like all the tampo markings on this one except on the underside of the wings. Like who's going to step on it during routine check-ups and repairs? By the way, with all those tampos and whatnot, they forgot to tampo the Cockpit's HUD/Consoles. Overall, I'm still happy with my purchase. I'm still satisfied why I purchased 2 so that I will not transform it. One will stay in Fighter with all it's Advance Pack glory. And one in Battroid. And besides, they're cheaper than Arcadia's. But I have two of those as well. I'm not too keen on VF-171Ex transformation process, but I do like that one better than this one. Care to make one, guys?

Probably. They already had that spread the legs feature started in VF-0D. Hopefully it continue down the line. But they have to make sturdy coz I remember Jenius accidentally broken his. It's featured on anymoon.com review. Anyways, hope V3 have a waist joint. That's a challenge. Hehehe.
