  1. Hi lads , well it´s been a long time since I made a topic myself here in the toys section so I wanted to add some spice to all the bitching and whinning going on over the other thread(s). Actually I was going to make a comment about what I´m goint to explain later on on another thread but I realise it was too important (to me at least ) to let it be lost in the horde of post from the other thread. well , all the Hikaru 1S debate as well as the 1/48 customs thread got me thinking about a nice Idea ; I have to say I fell in love with a Roy 1A custom that was shown in the customs thread , and as I know such an awesome toy would never be released officially I decided I would have to buy a Roy 1S (re-released & hopefully cheaper and improved ) but then I realised : where would I get the 1A head from ? then I was illuminated by the hory froatin head : I could just simply buy a Hikaru 1A and swap the heads so I would end up with the Hikaru 1S (awesome) and a lovely Roy 1A ! A bit like what you can do with the little banprestoes. I realise I could just buy a recast head and have the Roy 1A but then I would have a spare head and the idea of a Hikaru 1S is tempting , of course this is a long-term plan (or at least until the re-releases get released -no pun intended-). Now , what do you think about this plan lads ? any suggestions ? Do you personally think it´s cost-effective or not ? do you like the idea ? please comment Does anyone have an idea of how I could go about doing this ? i.e. swaping the heads , best places for deals, etc.. just for refferences :
  2. No man... they will make us buy the 1J EVEN if we dont want it. Now, THAT is profit. Problem is , they can´t make us buy the GBP bundle , that´s our decision and how many of us with a 1J will spend on an identical toy just for the sake of the GBP ? yes , it´s awesome but it doesn´t justify the $70 you´ll be paying for the toy alone Furthermore , if they sell the GBP armour alone they´r making far more profits than if they sold them solely as a bundle , you´re asking how, right ? well , they have to reduce the full price of the 1J toy to actually sell the bundle under a reasonable price whereas if you sum whatever price they put on the armour alone plus the full retail price of those 1Js that people already bought then they´re actually making more profits ; of course I´m not saying they shouldn´t sell the GBP bundle as well, that would be a ripp off for those that don´t have a 1J , I´m saying they should have an alternative for everyone so at the end everyone wins : -they get money from those without 1Js -they get even + money from those with 1Js -they get to milk their GBP molds as much as they want & -we all get GBPs Selling the GBP solely as a bundle is just absurd <_<
  3. Either that, or some kind of "destroy the evidence" failsafe. From Sara's visions, were given to assume that at some point, the AFOS is going to "wake up" and go on a destructive rampage. If AFOS were purely a defensive unit, and it was supposed to protect the Protoculture's experiment (if it was to protect the Protoculture themselves, they wouldn't leave it behind), you'd have to wonder why it goes nuts on them later. Here's something to ponder, though. If the Protoculture landed on Earth and made humans a sub-Protoculture race... and did the same thing to the Zolans on Zola... did they also leave an AFOS somewhere on Zola? probably , it depends on the date when Zola was colonized and the political situation of the Intergalactic republic What I´m sure of is that the AFOS was closely involved in the genetic alteration of the early humans and that the bird people refer to it ; now , if the AFOS is an automated mecha , a suit or a tool , that´s still to be clarified
  4. They ought to sell the GBP separatelly ! or are you telling me they´ll just pass on the potential profits they could make from those who already own a 1J ?
  5. Oh mate , you people make me laugh to death with you silly little debates about this toys , is like someone´s life depended on them I personally don´t care about all this crap , I just buy the toys I want and thank Yamato for making this toys. I´ll probably get a 1S when it is re-released ( [does anyone know when?/B]) and a Low-viz , if i´m lucky to find one. All the remaining (SDF/DYRL) valks don´t interestme at all. Apart from that I hope they realise the potential profits of realeasing the 1/60 GBP separatelly for those people that bought the Super 1J some time ago , I mean , if they´re going through the trouble of making GBP molds why not milk them as much as they can ? I don´t think many 1J owners will invest in yet another one just for the sake of the GBP , and from the number of people that own a 1J and are eager to have a GBP I would imagine it´s a good investment I´m not complaining at all , in fact I´m really happy that they´re finally giving us a GBP but they should really take those of us that have already paid for a 1J into account

    1/48 customs

You haven't seen this one? It was posted by >EXO< in the Toy Customization board. Link to topic I thin I missed that one Looks quite nice though

    1/48 customs

Wow , those are quite simply the most awesome (and only) 1/48 customs I´ve ever seen I don´t know about you guys but my favourite was Roy´s VF-1A , I never thought of such a thing as a 1A Roy custom but it certainly looks awesome to say the least , If only Yamato made something like this <_<
  8. From what I can gather I would assume that the AFOS is some kind of artifact/mecha used by the protoculture to alter the pace at which the early humans evolved , the only odd thing here is why would the protoculture make an entire mecha for the sake of making chimps evolve , I mean , they could´ve just made some kind of stationay machine ..mmm..maybe the AFOS is a multi-purpose protoculture mecha they just sent to Earth instead of coming here themselves and do the dirty work , I mean , they did the same with the Zentrans for war , why wouldn´t they make specialized mecha for altering native life-forms for colonization ? so maybe , just like the Zentradis were sent by the protoculture for fighting their wars , the protoculture sent this ¨AFOS¨ for colonizing other planets instead of themselves ; that would certainly explain all the bird-people thingy and the AFOS involvement in human evolution , i.e. either the bird-people were the AFOS artifact and not the protoculture themselves or they were personal mecha/spacecraft that were used by the protoculture to infect early humans and the AFOS was one of the suvivors of the protoculture wreck
  9. damn I hate this crappy commercials , anyway , it seems Ep.3 is action packed and this time Mao seems to go one step ahead of Sara in regards to Shin (look at the end of the commercial) I can tell you this though , M0 is gaining quite a lot of points with all this variety of new mechas and VFs , the Ghost and Destroids look amazing to say the least

    1/48 Line

With all due respect, I think it's your assertion that is off base. The fact that a toy is scaled at 1/60 it doesn't mean the engineering of that toy will equal the engineering of the current 1/60 toys. You're already getting that in the 1/72 scaled releases. A YF-19 and YF-21 at 1/60 can afford the detail and engineering that the 1/48s VF-1s enjoy. The only thing that would probably suffer would be the pilots. But even then, they'll be able to have legs because of the added room in a 1/60 scale 19 or 21 toy. You should think of it not in scale but in how big that toy will be in inches or centimeters. Right now a 1/48 VF-1 is 12.5 inches long. You think the YF-21 has to be 16" to be that detailed? When a 1/60 YF-21 will equal it in length. The arms, legs and other parts will equal of a 1/60 YF-21 will equal the arms, legs, etc. of a 1/48 VF-1 in ratio. So, to state that a 1/60 M+ is just as detailed in all respects is just. . . Right. I totally agree with you , unfortunatelly we´re trying to convience the wrong audience , we´ve reached the point where people will not listen and will just keep hyping themselves for 1/48 M+/M0 toys just for the sake of having something with 1/48 written on the box <_< people need to forget about the damn scales , just think about the sizes of the toys. If 1/60 M+ are gonna be as big as current 1/48 toys then why wouldn´t they have the same level of detail ? but no , it has to be 1/48 because that´s the new trend nowadays.

    Yamato Destroids

I'm just interested in the Spartan , that's the one and only Destroid I like (except for the new M0 Destroid). I'm not a completist at all , If I were I wouldn't be able to buy the toys I want because I would have to buy those I don't like for the sake of completition, this applies to the Destroids line as well so I'll just have 1 Spartan if it ever comes out.
  12. naaa , people have bashed Reloaded enough times to put this franchise back to ''cool , yet not perfect'' status.
  13. Problem is , dowe really want them to have some sort of protection ?
  14. Well , there's no way the new characters will change in appearance if you choose different story modes ; Seriously though , if BW and SK want to have a slim chance of exporting this to other countries then I would assume they are gonna stick to DYRL designs (you know , Tatsunoko has the rights to the animation so they can't use stills from SDF Macross hence they are using DYRL stills). I'm hoping they add interactive backgrounds in the normal missions as well as the Vs mode , having a decent developer backing up this project makes me belive we'll have something worth playing this time around ; hopefully they have detected the flaws that made the past games so ...well..crap (VF-X2 and MP:GE being the exception ). If they include a survival mode I would gladly try out the YF-21 against a fleet of Zentrans
  15. Guys , I don't know what you're worring about , as long as there's a vs mode then this game will have virtually endless replayability , I mean , MP:GE had very short stages/missions but even with that in mind the VS mode was beautiful (shame you had to shoose between fighter/battroid stages though). If Tekkaman is right and there's 12 stages then we can be happy , why am I saying this ? well , think about it , the game seems to be divided into DYRL and SDF storylines , so if each one of them features 12 or 8 stages then that means we are getting 16-24 stages in reality. Of course this is just speculation but regardless of the number of stages this game seems to have , the fact that we're getting a decent Macross game at last is good enough for me. I agree with Graham , I would be really happy if we get a Vs mode as well as a survival mode , I'm not sure if we're gonna get a player controlable mission generator mode though.
  16. Just because other valks aren't shown so far doesn't mean that they're not in the game. We'll just have to wait and see. Oh jesus , if they're gonna put unlockable valks from other series in this game then please please let us have a VF-5000 and a VF-11 ! and if the Vf-0 is there then let us have the D variant and the GBP-0
  17. Jesus , this game has everything going for it : - You start as part of the Skull Squadron - You get to command your own squadron - New characters by Mikimoto himself - GBP God damn it !!! - you can play with the VF-0 , SV-51 , YF-19 & YF-21 - Nice graphics - You can actually choose between DYRL and the TV series !!! we just have to wait to see how it actually plays
  18. Ok , let's move on people. I hope Yamato doesn't make the mistake of releasing 1/48 M+ toys , even if we wanted to buy them they would probably be too expenisve , even for those people with unlimited founds , and even if someone managed to buy one after a year of saving , those toys would probably make bad display pieces (if you actually had the space) and you wouldn't be able transform or play with them (if you dare to) , those toys would probaly have so many small pieces that it would be a pain in the ass to not lose them , let alone the fact that all the weight (even if it didn't have any diecast) would put too much pressure in some parts...and I doubt there would be that much more detail on them in contrast to a 1/60 version...
  19. I would assume they are only available for atmospheric battles in vs mode (if there's any). But who cares man , you can fricking kick some Zentran butt with the SV-51 and the VF-0 !!! or even better , use the YF-21 (which ironically draws its design from the Q-rau design ) against a fleet of Zentradi ships
  20. Oooook .... so , let me get this straight...you're telling me that you can actually unlock the VF-0 and the SV-51 , as well as the M+ valks in this game ? ROCK ON BABY!!! this is so awesome I can't fricking believe my eyes Man I can't stop drooling now I'm so getting this game B) I wasn't going to get excited about this game until you posted that info and pics about the unlockable M+ and M0 valks
  21. Wow , this is freaky , I was just about to make a thread about this very same topics - Of course I would've recieved far less replies and my thread would've probably gone to hell so thanks for making this one -. 1.- Yeah they could easily make a Kakizaki variant but they are probably worried it would be too much of a risk. 2.- 1/48 M+ valks is IMO too impractical , for starters a 1/60 M+ valk would be just as big or even bigger than a 1/48 VF-1 , and it seems people still don't get this in their heads. Of course , bigger and better M+ valks would be awesome , I doubt anyone would resist buying at least 3 of them but 1/48 M+ valks would not even make nice display pieces , the shipping costs would be huge let alone the price of the toy itself ; if you think that saving money for current 1/48 toys is difficult then expect M+ valks to be virtually impossible to adquire. If people want 1/48-ish M+ toys then you should really be asking Yamato for 1/60 or 1/65 M+ toys. 3.- I can't see how people expect Yamato to make a 1/48 GBP if they won't even bother to buy the 1/60 version , if the 1/60 version doesn't do well what will motivate Yamato to invest in a 1/48 sculpt ? 5.- They could do whatever they wanted with their M+ and VF-X2 licenses , like the VF-5000 or the Neo-Glaug or the X-9 or even a VF-17 but much like Bandai does with their M7 license , they don't care because they are focused in making VF-1s instead ; and it will be a long time before we see a VF-5000 or VF-14 or a VF-17 cause they still have to release the M0 toys which will take another year of their schedule , I wouldn't expect Yamato to start releasing any of the new valkyries until 2005-06.

    1:60 GBP-1 !?

It seems people are just happy about the 1/60 GBP because they think a 1/48 version is inevitable , but how could it be inevitable if no one buys the 1/60 version first ?

    1:60 GBP-1 !?

yeah , whine whine - bitch bitch , that's pretty common here nowadays. <_< The fact is , We're getting a fricking GBP for God sake !!! I don't care how bad the sculpture could be (and from what I see it looks awesome), I just want a GBP armour for my 1J , after that I'm all up for the M0 toys and the YF-19FP B) I wonder how much detail this GBP will have , after seeing the level of detail they achieved with the 1/60 FPs I would imagine they can at least put removable missiles and a nice sticker sheet. ; I'm not holding my hopes high though. I hope the GBP goes for £40 or something , the bundle would probably go for something like £120
  24. If we're lucky enough , Yamato will make the remaining SDF Macross mecha. In regards to the other series , I think Yamato will make them in 1/72.

    1:60 GBP-1 !?

yeah I know I sounded negative and I'm sorry for that , and belive me , I'm reeeaaally happy because Yamato is giving us the GBP , be it on 1/48 or 1/60 I don't really care cause , as I said , I have no real prefferences over what is being released , I just hope there's continuous variety of toys. I'm not a 1/60 or 1/48 lover , I like both lines very much , I just hope that in the future we're not stuck with just one line because people give prefference to the 1/48 line. Reagardless of whether the majority of people prioritize the 1/48 line over the 1/60 line , Yamato could eventually decide to give up its plans to release an alternative line (and I thought that the 1/48 line was the alternative line ) in favor of the 1/48 line , afterall , if they decide to focus solely in the 1/48 line they would get more profits because of its higher price tag...
