Planned February release. Oh Yamato , you sure know how to make a bloke´s birthday a happy one , Thanks
-
Oh jesus christ , if you want more Gundam go Watch Seed or something else but Macross doesn´t need to be a Gundam clone. <_
-
Your help is much appreciated , thanks. I think That my project is viable so I think I´ll do it , now it´s just a matter of time before I get my 1A and 1S re-issues. shame I didn´t get the opportunity of buying an Low vis but WTH , the Roy 1A is cool as hell.

I just realised that that´s how the VF-1 is probably gonna look like in M0 , and I actually like it.
-
Well , he wasn´t exactly cannon fodder when fighting aganist Nora , for starters he actually locked onto her juts piloting a Tomcat (which is old by today standards , imagine how old it is in 2008 ) and Nora was using a new variable fighter , of course the pros of the VF design were show when Nora shot him down in Battroid. Shin is just too old-school to get used to piloting VFs , but as a fighter pilot he´s probably just as good as Max or Gamlin , in any case the other pilots had more experience by the time Shin got his 0D. In the two occasions Shin confronted Nora he was in a disadvantage (1- he was using a tomcat , 2- he didn´t know a crap how to use a VF ). I think Roy is gonna have quite an important role in Shin´s development , at least he was happy to pilot along side Edgar once he knew he was alive.

So there isn´t any risk of breaking any part or anything like that ? would the heads accomodate well in the new valk ? how well does the head move after such a maneuver ? doesn´t it stay loose ?
-
I just thank God it is official by know and that Macross is advancing as the Froating Head said once. I wonder what Kawamori has in mind after such astonishing quality delivered by M0. The two most probable alternatives for the setting are either in the 2040s when M0 events are revealed/discovered with some cameos or connections to Macross Plus or between the 2020-30s featuring all the dark VFs such as the VF-14 or VF-9 and 5000 focusing in all the small guerrila wars and colony wars or maybe UN corruption , who knows. At least we know we´re getting more Macross after Zero

I would assume the VF-1J that comes with the GBP is just an improved 1J but I doubt it has any special connection points to make it any different from the old 1J. It would be weird of Yamato to release the armour alone if there wasn´t any possibility of connecting it to the old 1J. In any case , put me in the list of potential buyers.

I´m planning on doing a custom 1/48 project with a VF-1A and Roy VF-1S , but I´m having some worries on how easy or possible it is to swap heads between 2 1/48s and how to do it safely ? anyone with experience in this field ? I know the heatshield on the 1S wouldn´t match up to the VF-1S Hikaru ( the 1A being black ) and the little ¨arrows and dots¨ on the heads would have to be repainted but It´s note a problem for me personally , itñs just that I´m in love with that VF-1A Roy custom that was shown some time ago. Could anyone enlighten me on how to do this and if you like the idea ? I know a Roy 1A is weird but man you have to see the beauty of it to know how awesome it looks. I personally think doing this is more convenient and easy that buying a 1A and painting it with Roy colours and a Hikaru 1S.

Better than Macross (in my opinion).
Aegis! replied to Daishi3500's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I have to say , I liked KB very much and I find it quite good for today´s movie standards in fact I think it´s awesome and you can compare anything against anything BUT having said that you´re talking sh*t here : How in your f+++ing mind can you say Macross is repetitive ? Where have you been the last 10 year mate ? if anything Macross is one of the most varied series , yes it has a formula but the plots , music , characters , mechas , etc vary with every single series that is released , or are you telliing me Macross Plus was exactly the same thing as SDF Macross ? You should know that Macross was supposed to be even longer but it production problems forced the series to be shortened , so saying that the creators tried to lengthen the series is just absurd. If you want to compare KB with a repetitive anime series then compare it with Gundam , now that´s a repetitive series. Yes , Tarantino is a good director , and KB was quite good but saying that Macross was linear is just lame , I´m not talking as a Macross fan here , I´m talking as person keen on both movies and anime alike , and I´m telling you Macross wasn´t linear at all , both the series and Franchise. I don´t know where you came from but you should watch more movies and anime if you really want to have a relevant opinion of what you´re talking about. -
I hope that as well

YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH You´ve given me the best news of this month so far I´m so fricking happy that we´ll all be able to have our GBP , with or without 1J.
-
-
We really need someone to let us know what it says cause I have zero knowledge of japanese. I´m crossing my fingers really hard to see the armour sold separately for my 1J.
-
Just found something intriguing : Just what the heck is that mecha in the background ? it ain´t a Destroid or the 0S (although it has 2 lasers but it also has two visual receptors -no visor- whereas the 0S has just one visor. ) or a SV-51 (head is just different)...weird

What makes you think this? It's not like Yamato is a couple of guys handcrafting toys out of their garage you know. While the original design stages would take time, I would think they'd have enough resources to produce more than one toy at a time. Think back just a few months ago. In the span of about 3 months, we had a VT-1, a VE-1, fastpacks, a limited version 1/48 VF-1, and all the while they kept their same release schedule going. Now in 2 months, they've made the Hikaru 1S, re-releases of the 1A and the Focker 1S and a brand new 1J. That doesn't look like a lack resources. Fastforward maybe 6 months from now when Yamato starts putting out Q-Raus. Mind you, these things are larger than 1/48's and quite possibly larger than any prospective Macross Plus 1/48. Forgot to mention, that throughout this whole 1/48 flurry, they've still released 1/60's and even announced the sacred GBP!!! I´m no doubting Yamato´s productive capacity , what I can hardly believe is that given the current technological advances they would be able to put even more detail on a 1/48 M+ toy than a 1/60 version just because of the size. Size alone isn´t gonna make these toys any better than a 1/60 version , that´s just gonna make them bigger and nothing else. As I said , if they went with 1/48 with no other alternative I would happily buy those toys , but I´d still think making such big and impractical (transformation-wise) toys. I´m not against having decent M+ toys , I just find that making those toys so big isn´t a necessity nor a priority. And most of those toys you pointed out were based in existing molds , so there isn´t much to praise at. Most of the toys that aren´t based on existing molds haven´t been released either.
-
Price ? nope , not for me at last , I´m greedy I admit it so I have almost no debts so I would be able to buy them without much problems , my real problem is the design prospects such as the size and level of detail , it´s not neccesary to repeat everything again so I´ll skip all that. You´re assuming 1/60 M+ valks would be just like the 1/60 VF-1s : small , crappy , and lacking on detail. Well , that wouldn´t be true at all. 1/60 M+ valks would be just as wonderful as our beloved 1/48 VF-1s , yes , you love 1/48 VF-1s don´t you ? that´s why you want 1/48 M+ toys ? then if you like the 1/48s then the 1/60 M+ toys would be the same , if not better (more experience , better sculpters and CAD ) than current 1/48s. Making 1/48 M+ toys would just elevate the price for those who cant afford them , andwould increase the size , and all that for what ? more detail ? how much detail can they put with their current manufacturing resources ? not much more than what they could do in 1/60. Not only that but the manufacturing cost would be too much for Yamato and because of the price tag , there would be very few sales regardless of how wonderful they might be.

Mate , I can´t find the words to describe the awe that fills my heart right now Oh...OK , I found them : OMIPFG !!!!!!! even though the clip look like sh*t I could appreciate the stills. Is it just me or was that the APHOS´s head ? and was it turning its eye towards Shin ? you realise what all this means right ? I thought they couldn´t improve anymore in the animetion but those wonderful bast@rds did it ; I luv you Froating Head , may your grace illuminate my path They´ve accomplished what I thought wouldn´t work or would be impossible for today animation , it seems they achieved to blend CG and Cel-shadding for the mechas and make it look like ubber cool traditional animation. in past episodes the backgrounds went practicly unnoticed but the dar sky and the clouds of Ep.3 look beautiful. What can I say , good designs , lots of mecha , great animation and wonderful plot.

What does all the bold stuff mean? Maybe those are the ones he whants I apologise myself , I forgot to point out (as you said ) that the bold ones are those I´d like the most to be released (you hear me Yamato !?).

Something many didn't know about the VF-1...
Aegis! replied to Final Vegeta's topic in Movies and TV Series
Puny? If this is accurate the 1/60 Freedom Gundam is about 6 in taller than the 1/60 VF-1. Hell the bore of one of those shoulder cannons is almost as big as a GU-11. VF-11 Full Armor, that's standard equipment for some MSs. Koenig Monster - GP03 Orchis, Full Armor Enhanced ZZ, the list goes on and on here too. You´ve proved my point. As you said , MS are bigger than Valkyries , but they´re much heavier and slower as well so for that matter any VF would outclass a MS in a battle. I wouldn´t put much fate in the effectives of MS weapons given the fact that the mechas themselves are too slow to even lock onto a VF , and any long-range mass destructive weapon would be easily dodged by a valkyrie (particularly the latest valks , the Ghost , the Pheyos valkyrie , etc..) Armour-wise , MS would sustain a big ammount of damage for some time but after that they´re pretty much damned against something like the Ghosts beam weaponary or PPB punches. In contrast valkyries would be to fast for Ms to even hit them , and even if they did , the PPB system would endure a lot more than a MS´s armour. even if (some) MS pilots have psychic powers to see what a VF pilot plans , it wouldn´t help much against VFs since the response time of MS are correspondent of the physical reactions of the pilot himself , so even if a MS pilot knows what to do , the VF would be at their back even before they aimed their weapons at it. -
ups sorry , my mistake , I read the following : Either way , it´s fairly possible we´ll see a renewed VF-1 by the end of M0.
-
You gotta watch Macross Zero , the VF-0 transformation is practically the same as the VF-1 (if we´re talking about SW1 era valks ). In the case of the AVFs , the YF-19 copkits stays in in the backbone of the mecha so the space shouldn´t be altered that much. VF-4 is pretty much the same.
-
Well , Up to this date , we only have VF-1s and crappy M+ toys , nothing more , so there´s lot of toys to be made. - Macross Zero toys = all VF-0 variants (A,S,D, GBP) Anti-un valks , Destroids , Ghosts ,and a new VF-1 rendition (just one ,not an entire new line). - VF-X2 license toys = continuing what they left with the VF-19A ( VF-11 FA , VF-17 , VF-22 ) - Macross Plus GE = X-9 Ghost , Neo Glaug , VF-5000B - M3 = VF-14 , VF-4 , VF-9 - M7 = Sound Force , Jamming birds , VF-22s , VF-5000G , VF-19P , enemy mecha , etc...
-
so, there is a chance we see a VF1 in the M0 ep.3 ? (I haven't seen any M0 ep yet. Going to buy the DVDs swhen the three are availlable.) So, about toys : there is two VF1 versions : - TV series - DYRL - maybe a M0 version? If yes, it should be a VF0 (<- lol) 1/48 as well? I just wonder how technically, for a toy, they will do for the length of the nose. have you seen this nose? Bloody long. Good luck ! Yes , it is fairly possible that we´ll see the VF-1 by the end of this 5 epsiode OVA series . If we do see the VF-1 I doubt we´ll see the same VF-1 we are used to (they changed the design a bit for DYRL , why wouldn´t they chage it for M0 ?). I´m hoping they go with 1/60 for the M0 toys as the perfect edition toy (ala 1/48) , in addition to a 1/72 mass production toy line. If they just release one line though I would want it to be 1/60.
