  1. Says, "We have already introduced the Hasegawa 1:72 VF-0 on page 140, however..." Some of the other wording makes it sound like it's going to be like the 1:60 line as well. In other words, unclip the legs, then put them back on. Just want to say something first ...why in the name of God are you all talking about the damn stand when we´re finally looking at a Yamato Macross Zero toy !!!!??? Who gives a shnit about the stand , Yamato finally demonstrates they have the M0 license ! Anyway , I think they´re making the same as the VF-1 line , having a smaller , less detailed scale of toys and then a bigger more detailed one. In this case the 1/100 VF-0S toy takes the place of the 1/60 VF-1 and I´m hoping there´s a 1/60 VF-0 that´s gonna equal to the 1/48 VF-1. I personally I´m gonna wait for the perfect edition Vf-0 toy (1/60 hopefully) so I don´t have to take the legs off my valk. We always knew Yamato had the license. You want to know why we're only commenting on the stand? BECAUSE 1:100 IS A LOAD OF CRAP. I know, I scold you whiners some times, but you have to agree with me, this is a valid whine. Just when you thought that Yamato was going to standardize a scale, they go ahead and introduce scale number four. Go go go, Yamato. oooook , was it necesary to post your opinion is such a large bolded text ? that´s a bit childish isn´t it. As far as I can say , I wasn´t whining at all , in fact I´m quite happy that Yamato finally is releasing some new (new as in , no VF-1) products , be it the very nice stand or the Vf-0. In any case , I think Yamato is trying to gain some space in the small toys market given the fact that Kaiyodo and Bandai have made so good with their 1/144 toys , though I don´t know if the 1/100 VF-0 is even comparable with the 1/44 Vf-1 toys given its size. That being said , I think this toy is gonna be marketed more in the lines of being equal to the 1/60 VF-1 toys , in the sense that they´ll be the smaller less detailed toys , and following their release they´ll produce a bigger more detailed line equal to the 1/48 (probably 1/60). I´ll probably skip this 1/100 VF-0 toys and wait for the 1/60 or 1/72 versions ( which will be equal to the 1/48 If I remeber well).

  3. OK PEOPLE ; STOP DEBATING ABOUT MACROSS 7 !!!!!!! If you don´t have anything relevant to say then don´t take this thread off topic. This is not about PAST manga series , but the possibilities of NEW FUTURE manga releases. If this continues I want the Mods to close it down.
  4. I´m just glad I ain´t an EVA fan otherwise I would be really pissed off about something like this.
  5. I'm thinking in Tactical terms. If they had given it a gun pod like the Valks.... I would completely change my view. IMO it was an excelent CD Mech (not likely to take out a whole block of Macross City in combat) vs lets say a Monster or a Phalax. As for close combat, all the Destroids were cannon fodder. The only mecha that actualy got a fighting chance in close combat were the battleroids. Now in close combat a Spartan vs an Unarmed Zentran(Zentreadi) warrior... ok fair enough... that would be an interestingly close match. Now if it did come as part of the "Multi-Pack" heck ya I would still buy it... its just not on my wish list. Actually , the Spartan did have a handheld weapon , I don´t have the pics right now but I´m 100% the Spartan was equieped qith a weapon of sorts.
  6. did I mention I tried to register 1400 times before making my mind about my member name ?
  7. It can´t be the YF-19 FP since that ain´t an entirely new product , neither the Mosnter or another VF-1 so it´s either M0 toys or VF-X2 toys (VF-5000 pleeeeaaasse!). Or maybe more Destroids or a Regult. Either way I´m glad it ain´t another damn VF-1
  8. And people get suprised when I say they´re obsessed with the original series <_< why limit ourselves to SDF Macross or DYRL ?...? Well , just to follow the trend I´ll post mine: 1st- Glaug : although it would really be massive in 1/60 (just like the Q-rau) I think I would be willing to buy one of this babies. 2nd- Spartan : Man I love this Destroid , best ever destroid in the series. 3rd- Fan jet : what can I say , it has a nice design. Non-SDF/DYRL : - VF-5000 : God damn it Yamato , just do the damn valk and make me happy for once ! - VA-14 : You though the GBP Vf-11 and Vf-1 looked tough , this geezer is a baaaad boy ! - VF-19S : lovely valk , true successor to the YF-19 - VF-22 M&M : Classic , just Classic. - VF-11D Jamming Bird variant : Nice head design and heatshield - VF-11 FA variant : with all that weapons this valk screams to be made into a toy !
  9. You´ve got to be joking Reboot and Beast Wars were major CRAP , not only now but in their times. I don´t know what the hell do you mean by .Firstly , the detail achieved with the CG is utterly beautiful to look at , not only that but the CG models show a lot of the mechanics involved on the functioning of a valkyrie. I guess you´re satisfied with cell animation such as Anime Friends efforts where ¨anime-magic ¨rules over realism instead of Macross Zero´s high quality work. It only comes to show how little you understand the timeline and the plot when you say there´s a ¨Magic-Factor¨ in this anime. If you knew that what the natives take as myth is nothing more than what the Protoculture REALLY did then you wouldn´t take it as ¨magic-factor¨ that´s just being interpreted that way in M0 cause the natives are a bunch of idiots that are amazed by flying objects. When the author presented the natives beliefs it´s not meant to be taken literally as the natives see it. Not because the natives see it as myths it means the audience has to believe they´re myths. You have to take into account the people of mayan have very little education and their society has been isolated for hundreds of years. What they see as a giant bird could very well be a comercial plane , what they see as magic boxes could very well be a television , what they see as a tiny sun could very well be a light bulb. Ir would only be foolish to take things the same way as the natives. So your mumbo-jumbo could very well be what the Protoculture came to do , if you ignore what is told in Macross Zero then you also ignore DYRL and SDF Macross since all this crap was stablished a LOOOOONG time ago , Zero is just adding detail to it and covering the pre-SW1 era.
  10. Is there any doubt which is is the most popular ? People are literally obsessed with the VF-1 , I personally don´t know why ( ok , I know why , but I don´t know why they don´t get bored of it ) but there´s no other valk that comes close to such following. which IMO is a shame since macross has A LOT of other great valkyries wating to be released as toys.
  11. Why people have diverted the conversation away from the topic ? This topic isn´t focused on PAST manga releases (i.e. Trash or Beat ) nor why have they failed or why you don´t like it. I meant this topic to be focused on the prospects of having a long-running manga series , it could very well be focused on the post-2051 conflicts or maybe on the post SW1 colonisation era. Maybe even a VF-X2 Ravens manga or maybe something complementary to Macross Zero set in the future ( around M+ ? ). From the few macross manga that have been released the great mayority of them were based of M7 , now how succesful was M7 with the fans ? not that much to attract them to manga side stories. Of course it was a foolish move from me to come here and put such a topic when the mayority of people here reside in America qhere manga isn´t hot at all so I shouldn´t be surpirsed no one gives a crap about a manga series. I think the main problem to date is that Kawamori has never supervised any manga series hence none of them feature a balance between all the macross elements. So it shouldn be clear that when I talk about a manga series I mean it to have all the macross flavour. My question is , would it help macross ? would it be good for fans ? would it be possible to cover a more deep plot within the unanimated macross timeline ?
  12. hehehehe INDEED , the american audience got a REALLY edited version...and it wasn´t just the blood mind you.
  13. OK , I´ve recently renew my love for manga and have gone through a lot of new series such as FMP or Rahxephon. After that I started wondering , should macross have it´s own extensive Manga series ? I personally think that it should have one indeed. For starters , mangas tend to be a lot more extensive than TV series or OVAs thus it could feature a complex and incredibly deep plot. Secondly , I think having a manga series would secure a more solid fanbase , if not here then certainly in Japan where macross is more than a shadow to Gundam , having a extensive series published in some magazine would attract more people the same way it happens with new series being translated into its anime form later on , even without having a solid background as macross. Finally , the possibilities of having a manga series would be huge , imagine all the possibilities , not only it could feature new characters or new settings such as the 2020-30 colonisation process but there would be a lot of space for inovation. Wha do you think , should macross aim to conquer the manga format once and for all ?
  14. mmmm...Max is notoriously too light , and contrary to other people I also think Millia´s should be a little darker , I don´t know why but every time I see pics of Yamato Millia´s 1J toys it looks notoriouly plastic-looking unlike other 1/48s or 1/60s.
  15. Is anyone really surprised by this ? not me anyway , these were pretty visible a long time ago. I think I may get the Millia 1J w/o FP of course. Hey G , are they gonna be released with the very same hands as Hikaru´s 1J ?
  16. Who said anything about 4 four legged mode or that that the human form wasn´t suitable ? I said WHY limit variable fighter to human limitations for example: Why VF can´t turn their arms backwards and use their gunpods in conjunction with their head lasers ? The only VF that came closely to do something like this was the SV-51 in gerwalk mode in M0 EP2. or Why can´t valkyries extend their arms further to reach things far away ? All the functional joins in a valkyrie seem a little limited , they could´ve added a lot more. Actually I am , that´s mainly why I pointed that out , why do valkyries always have to carry the gunpod on their right hand ? I mean they´re freaking machines , they can be proggramed to be ambidextrous and why only 1 gunpod ? If you look at all the human form and its limitatios and the possibilites of improving them when designing a valkyrie you do wonder why they copy the human form with all its flaws instead of improving them. I recall reading the VF-5000 had missile bays in its foreams as well , that´s quite interesting.
  17. Why the heck are they limited to human features ? I´ve wondered this a lot lately , I mean they´re machines not persons , why couldn´t they have optical sensors on the back of their head units or use two gunpods ala YF-21 instead of using just one as if they were right handed ? The only redeeming feature is the head laser or the wrist lasers on the YF-21 , other than that most of the valkyries featured in Macross are too damn close to the human structure that their potential is limited too much.
  18. Looking at your awesome custom 1/55 I realised that the Chunky Monkeys were really made in CAD but at the time tey only could design them with very few poligons cause of its block-like nature
  19. OK since no one is qilling to do anything I´m gonna contribute to this thread (yet again) Here you go people , for those VF-14 and VF-9 lovers (I know you are out there lads ) here is my gift :
  20. You ignore a vast number of factors that play in this situation : 1.- You said it yourself ; Bandai was able to do 1 meter tall Gundam toys , Bandai is THE most resorceful and influential toy/anime company in Japan , why are they able to make such HUGE toys ? Cause they´re big and have a lot of fans to rely upon to have a big chance of selling those toys. Yamato , although not many realise this , is not as big and powerful as Bandai , they have limited resources from the handful of sales they make on Macross toys , even if they sold ALL macross toys to each and every Macross fan today they wouldn´t even come closer to what Gundam has sold over the years hence they they cannot waste their limited resources in such things as 1 meter tall valkyries cause they wouldn´t sell as much as cheaper smaller mass production toys such as 1/60 or even 1/48. 2.- Is there really a market for 1/48 enemy mechs ? How many fans out there would be able to afford them ? even if everyone in this site was able to buy such toys that wouldn´t be a market at all , it would be just to small to guarantee a relevant profit. Take the 1/1 helmet as an example , why do you think is so damn expensive ? cause they won´t sale tha many of them and they still have to make a profit from those sales , even if the helmet probably cost them $200 they have to get enough money to justify its production and the very little sales. same applies to 1/48 enemy mechs or 1/48 M+ toys. Macross as it is is not a big market , in fact is a very small one , so from that very small market you have to guess what percentage of people are really able to afford really expensive and HUGE toys.Every fanbase has a variety of consumers , from those that can only afford a few toys a year to those that can afford multiple ones a month. The bigger the market the bigger the chances of having a higher percentage of wealthy fans. Gundam is big hence it has more ( numbers of) wealthy fans.
  21. haven´t we disscused this already ? And when you say ¨nothing beats the 1/48 detail-wise¨you fail to comprehend that the scale itself is relative to the original size of the object , indeed , if you compare the two VF-1 lines you can see the radical difference in quality and detail yet when you compare the Q-rau which stands TALLER than a 1/48 VF-1 your assumption has no real relevance since the Q-rau in fact should be as detailed or even more detailed than a 1/48 VF-1 even though the Q-rau is in a different scale , why? cause at the end the Q-rau is still taller than the 1/48 VF-1 hence it allows for more detail regardless of any scale. Regarding the context of your post , I don´t think Yamato will make enemy mechas in 1/48 , I pressume Yamato has put a lot of investement in the new toys such as the Q-rau for them to foolishly release another one which by all mean will be too big as a collection toy to be worth producing. Though , it all depends on the consumer market which is targeted , in this case if they ever plan on releasing such incredibly HUGE toys it would have to be very limited edition releases such as the 1/60 Monster or 1/1 DYRL Helmet.
  22. well, we've seen weirder things on these boards. after all we all worship a Hory Floating Head. Actually , there´s nothing there that says it´s a 0S , in fact it doesn´t have the 2 head-lasers the 0S features and the colour scheme is closer to the 0A. The only thing that could be related to Roy´s 0S is the Skull Insignia , but concidering Shin and Edgar are in the Skull Squadron I wouldn´t be surpirsed they are allowed to use the Squadron insignia. back to topic , PLEASE ! SOMEONE ! I beg the lords of Macross fanworks to clean these awesome images I´ve posted , please please please make wallpaper versions of this
  23. Thanks for the lineart Electric Indigo , where did you get those ?
  24. This is is a bit older but It´s well worth having as a wallpaper/poster. Once again I plead the lords for some macross goodness
  25. Hi guys , nice to see some poeple acyually got interested in this topic. Anyway , I thought I should share this with the artists , sorry for the large pic but I´m trying to give people the best quality I can give them (I actually have bigger versions , these are only resized versions of the better ones ): Being a fan of Macross Zero helmet designs I couldn´t stop drooling at this pic , I´m hoping someone can edit them so we can have testless versions , thanks in advance
