    A money grab, then, albeit a court sanctioned money grab maybe? The Battletech rumors were confusing me, having pledged to the Kickstarter for the game. The last time I checked the comments, the developers were basically ignoring all chatter on the subject and continuing with their work. Most fans were diving into their own speculation, as fans are wont to do.

    I hope these anniversary colors lead to a more complete set of SHF Macross figures. Getting the Macross divas should be easy but, if Bandai surprises us with other Macross characters, I wouldn't mind at all. If we also get animation accurate repaints, that would be icing on the anniversary cake.

    Sheryl looks fun. I'm not into Messer's custom VF-1, so I'm saving money there. I would have been keen on a real low-viz HM-R VF-1 custom too, or a canon Delta scheme like the VF-1EX trainer.

    Jenius has you covered. I've had the same experience with NY. Both my premium finish Hikaru and Roy Valkyries arrived with no issues, but Hikaru's box was mint and Roy's looked like it took a detour by the local football field. I like AE better for packaging, but they do require payment up front.

    We are still waiting for Arcadia to post the pre-order information. Arcadia does not ship outside Japan. You will need to use a proxy service to order direct, or you will need to order from an on-line shop that carries this version of the SDF-1.

    That's one thing that I like about HLJ. Their shipping boxes are heavy duty. It might have more to do with the shipping option I used at NY, but the box was thin. It was similar in thickness to the boxes amazon.com uses for domestic shipments--not very sturdy. Oh well, at least the Valkyrie was okay.

    Woot! After five weeks, my premium Roy arrived today. No surprises here, the Valkyrie looks great, but the box took its share of hits and now has two visible dents (upper left and lower right corner). I'm not fussed over the box quality, but I am concerned about how the economy shipping options are getting more of a built-in delay lately. For that reason, I might stop using them altogether. I think it is definitely time for me to stop using them for higher priced imports. The savings isn't worth it when there is a greater chance of getting damaged goods.

    That was an interesting Facebook update. I take back my original estimate. I figure all bets are off at this point, and the update amounts to Arcadia's version of Valve's it'll be ready "when it's done" response. Nothing to do now but to wait for the actual pre-order whenever they get their stuff together.

    I have one of my Defender orders with AmiAmi too. Their business calendar notes that they are on holiday from Friday 8/11 through Monday 8/14. My guess is that they won't be processing anything until they are back in the office on Tuesday next week.

    I was reading that pre-orders end on August 31, but the machine translation could be incorrect on that point. If it is correct, the window for ordering a premium version SDF-1 is going to be short.

    I'm satisfied with the amount of Prime in my collection. (G1, IDW, FOC, Beast Wars). A company would have to do a very clever all-in-one Prime w/ trailer transformation to get me to bite on that character again. What I really don't need is another Takara Ultra/Delta Magnus clone. That was a sub-par all-in-one transformation that sacrificed articulation and bot-mode proportions for the MP car carrier gimmick. KFC got the basic articulation right with Citizen/Dai Stack but still could have improved the proportions of the final bot. Anyway, I'm still waiting for a company to get MP Magnus right, either an all-in-one or MP-scale toy homage with transforming Prime cab and armor parts. What is starting to catch my eye are the smaller scale releases. Things like Cross Dimension have more promise and creativity (along with Maketoys hyper-articulation, which I think is very cool). Also, I'm into the Perfect Effect and X2 Toys upgrade kits for CW/Legends Ultra Magnus toys. Those are a good compromise.

    Yeah. I'm holding out for the PF version. I'm expecting that a pre-order date will appear soon--no later than December. That's just an educated guess about December, though. The PF Valkyrie pre-orders have consistently gone up 5 months before release.

    The NY price is a good deal if you are a patient and calm collector, have special customs requirements, and don't mind waiting two weeks to a month for items to arrive. I picked up Masterpiece Artfire earlier this year and it took one month to ship from them, using registered SAL. It looks like my premium Roy is going to have similar hang time. If you are not patient or calm, or you know that your local post office is rough with packages, then it might be better to wait for another store that has a good deal on EMS, FedEX, or DHL.

    Correct. We might see Max orders open up in August, though, if the pre-order schedule is similar to Milia's 1J.
