I’m into it. Thinking the missiles could be included in the box (and not pictured) or a separate parts add-on, and I would be okay with it either way. I do hope this means that Bandai will take a risk on doing other -19 repaints later on too.

Thanks for the photo! That's the first time I've seen a labeled TWE shipper box. Very interesting. I'm very pleased with how things turned out with my 31A, so I don't miss the TWE brown box at all. I gotta admit the pre-owned thing went over my head, initially. I must be getting tired. I agree that NY is doing something different to secure orders, and that it is outside of what they normally would do. I have no idea how NY might persuade current owners to give up their sealed extras, when the aftermarket prices are so high. It must be a really good deal, if that's the case.

Maybe. It's evident the this exclusive is being handled differently from previous exclusives where NY received a majority of bulk Tamashii shipments. I hesitate to say that my 31A is pre-owned, though. As noted, mine arrived new in a sealed box. The Valkyrie was secure in its foam packaging, which was also taped at 4 corners to keep the top plastic bubble secure. Beneath the bubble, the Valkyrie still had its sticky plastic protective pieces on the wings, and the larger plastic barrier protecting the paint from the foam. There is no sign that anyone had opened the box or even looked inside the box before me. It could be that NY is using middlemen, as suggested, to secure stock but I really have no idea. Anyway, here is a quick and dirty cell photo my VF-31a straight out of the box (no transformation). Click on the spoilers to see close-ups of the wings (top and bottom). To me, the paint looks pretty good. I didn't notice any obvious defects in the finish; however, if I were to be super critical, I could point out that the bottom of the Valkyrie has one or two smudge/shine spots. I picked up my 31A from the post office at lunch. No pictures yet, but I can confirm what others have noticed from NY's recent shipments. My copy arrived sealed, and was shipped in a normal nondescript box and wrapped with bubble wrap, like a standard release VF-31. My copy did not come packaged in the brown Tamashii shipping box like other exclusives, which is no bid deal for me at this point. I'm happy to have the Valkyrie in hand at last.

As someone on the sidelines, my advice is to let it go. I'm not even sure what it is you are arguing at this point. But art is subjective. That much I do understand, and if you don't want to understand and appreciate a new technique perhaps the best solution is to focus on those techniques you do understand and appreciate. No matter what you do, though, you won't be able to force the artist to change his gig.

I ordered the SDF-1 directly by proxy. I guess the take away is that I'll know when it ships when FromJapan knows when it ships. IOW, nothing changes for me.

LoL! The heat shield creates a goldeneye design which is rather perplexing. And the visor is... I wonder if Arcadia will paint on the anniversary black/white/gold stripes or if they will be decals like they are on the Hasagawa kit?

I don't doubt that, either. I'm just trying to make sense out of what the retailers have been telling members/customers who lost their orders (mykombini and nin-nin) or who filed tickets asking about their orders (NY). I gather these etailers all have a local presence in Japan, and would therefore have a domestic address. To that end, it shouldn't make a difference unless Bandai limited the number of Valkyries one could order. And if they did that, the stores would probably use multiple accounts to fill their orders. Would Bandai care about and track something like that? I have no idea.

To add to the data collection initiative, here are my NY stats: 2017-10-07 02:43:17 Pre-order - Payment OK 2017-10-07 02:42:28 Processing Payment 2017-10-07 02:41:24 Order created I missed 10/06 by a few hours, sadly. I chose EMS shipping and I have one 31A on order. I don't think that time or shipping method or region matters, to be honest, although the speculation has been a nice way to vent frustration. Apart from that, I'd certainly welcome more photos from those who have the 31A or any 31-type Valkyries really. Pictures always lighten the mood. Personally, I think the best guess has been that NY ordered these in a clever way, maybe even with the intent of having a few extra to sell at a markup. And, as each pre-order comes in, NY has been sending each order out to its designated recipient. That's all I can make of the random deliveries. Of course, if Bandai got wise to how retailers were being crafty, exploiting the Tamashii store (which is very reasonable to think too) then they could have most certainly put the kibosh on the whole thing. If that's they case, then I guess I'm Waiting for Godot.

If fext/fanshobby is able to find some success in this, then I welcome our new third-party overlords. Speaking of which, I'm very curious to see what they plan next for Macross after the Thunder Hammer.

Armor 202 has that look too. When I saw that 102 was sold out, I saw the pictures, and quickly went the mix and match route myself. FYI: The clean 000 armor is now sold out (no, I didn't get one).
