  1. I really enjoyed the Dark Crystal, as well. It had a very unique ending which impressed itself on my younger self. I like to rewatch the movie once a year these days. Hm. Now that I think more on it... given the Gelfling situation at the beginning of the original movie, this could be tough to watch.
  2. True. You make a valid point. Although these negotiations are private and just because the actors walked away once doesn't mean that they won't come back to work something out later. I guess we will have to wait to see how things shake out. As for Discovery, I think it is following the trend of modern-day Trek, which is to say the "boldly go" intelligent exploration aspect takes a back seat to mindless action and extreme conflict. It would be nice to see that change in the second season, but I'm not holding my breath. What disappoints me most about Discovery is how the pilot episode set up a series that never came to be: one with Captain Georgiou and Burnham, and the crew of the USS Shenzhou. I wanted to see more of that series. I was very curious to see the Shenzhou and another interpretation of the early days of Starfleet (without the Enterprise, or an Enterprise-named ship, taking center stage). Oh well.
  3. You mean Steve Trevor? As a character, I think Steve Trevor rates higher than a generic boyfriend. He has been in the comic since 1941! Not to mention other media. Trevor was a main character in the Lynda Carter 1970s/80s TV series too. I think Trevor has more often been portrayed as a friend and a confidant of Diana's, especially recently in the comics where they seem more interested in hooking up supers with other supers. Anyway, I thought Pine did a good job in Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. His role was toned down, which made sense since the focus was more on Diana's origin story than on the wily tales of Trevor and his covert special ops team. OT: I have to agree with @tekering. This seems less to do with what the actors want to do (or their schedules) and more to do with what the actors' agents are trying to wring out of the studios. Hopefully, something can be worked out because I also liked how ST: Beyond was putting JJ Trek back on its (admittedly) shaky rails. and would like to see more of that and less of JJ's Wrath of Khan.
  4. My 202 and 102F shipment was hijacked by customs, so I am waiting a little longer for that one to arrive. Anyway, I'll be living vicariously through any pictures that are shared. No complaints from me.
  5. Yeah, that price seems high to me too. Is there a reason why you don't want to wait until release day to see if more orders open up? HLJ and CDJapan are asking 25000 JPY before shipping.
  6. I'm in. The updated look and added gimmicks are no bother to me. If we ever get an official line-art accurate one from Bandai, I'll pick that one up too.
  7. Yeah. SAL is low priority with USPS. I would rather pay a little more and see my items within a week than pay less and wait on average a month or two (if lucky) with possible box damage to boot. Some people get good service, though, and can deal with the extra wait. Also, I think 6000 JPY is the standard insurance value for Registered SAL SmartPost shipments using Japan Post. Someone else can chime in to correct me, if I'm wrong. I do know that you have to pay the higher priority shipping rates to get full insurance (as noted).
  8. I didn't get a tracking number for the first half of my shipment, but I did get a tracking number for the second half of my shipment (yesterday). Looking forward to a full set by the end of the week.
  9. Truly. I like them both, even though they are completely different. I am on the last episode of Konosuba (season 2). Is there any news on when the two OVAs will get an international release? And what is this about a possible third season, is that just a rumor? Both of the SG visual novels are sitting in my backlog. I plan to set some time aside for them once I finish the SG0 anime.
  10. Steins;Gate 0 has reached a very serious/dramatic point, so I decided to take a break last week and watch something carefree that was recommended to me: Konosuba. *Giggle* It was a welcome distraction, indeed. I binged the first season and plan to continue through the second season this week since they're short (10 episodes each).
  11. Hey, sh9000! I ordered 000, 101, 102F, and 202. Today's delivery was for the 000 and 101 armors.
  12. Speak of the devil. Mine arrived too.
  13. Man, now I can't unsee it. That's the first criticism that actually has some weight (for me). I was hoping that the elbow mechanism was a slide of some sort and got pushed in a little too far on the grey prototype. I don't know. I'm not completely convinced it's bad news just yet. At least there's still time to think this one over.
  14. Ok. I’m officially hyped. The backpack looks good. Takara did right by Optimus.
  15. +1 for using HHGttG for the money meme. On topic: Sentinel lured me in with the first two ride armors, and now has me for the long game. Loving all the summer reveals so far.
  16. Thanks for sharing those pics, Ignacio. For me, Hound and Prime will be day one pre-orders. I don't see any proportion issues with the prototype in bot mode, so I can't really comment on that. Like Valkyrie Hunter D, I think Takara got it right, This version really looks like it is taking cues from the old animated movie. It's uncanny. Unfortunately, the toon accurate bot mode has sacrificed some details in alt mode. I'm actually okay with those sacrifices, but I can understand how they might put other fans off, especially if you like keeping your bots "in disguise" as it were. I do hope v3 Prime includes some of the same gimmicks that we got with Megatron: extra faces and battle damage pieces. I'm curious to see how it will all work.
  17. Oh? Is Arcadia bringing the launch arm stand back?
  18. I like those additions.
  19. With all the positive activity that Hikaru's 1J generated, I hope Bandai continues pursuing other TV-style Valkyries at this scale. I would go bonkers if we got announcements for Roy's TV 1S, and Max and Kaki's TV 1As within the next two years or so. All three would be day one pre-orders from me.
  20. NY sent me the same message, and then shortly afterward their pre-order payment reminder hit my inbox. It looks like that 8/15 ship date is going to stick. Anyway, I'm looking forward to having a PF Max 1J to go with the rest of my PF collection. No regrets going all in on them either, even though Bandai's new Hikaru 1J is a much better buy at a different scale. I hope Arcadia continues doing PF VF-1 Valks but focuses on the rare paint schemes now that Bandai is crashing the VF-1 party.
  21. Hi, Sildani. To change your language preference on amazon.co.jp click the world icon and choose English - EN. This should make navigating the site easier.
  22. If you can't beat them, join them! Speaking about Luke's confrontation in The Last Jedi. I don't mind it so much. I think the most egregious thing about it is the lack of context. We don't get anything establishing how Luke understood that Ben Solo was not balanced with the force. In addition to that, he pulls his lightsaber. Now, things get muddled depending on whether you are seeing things from Luke's memory of the event or Kylo/Ben's memory of the event so it's hard for the audience to get any grounded details of what happened between the two. I think that was what was disappointing to me. IMO it didn't kill the franchise, though, and it certainly didn't keep me from watching Solo. I don't understand that or the fan backlash. Star Wars is still uniquely its own thing in spite of the prequels, in spite of the side stories, and in spite of everyone's opinion. Speaking of opinions, I agree more with @Slave IV about the movie in general. It wasn't perfect, but I agree that it gave us some good Luke moments, even though it tried too hard to make him a dislikable hermit with his interactions with Rey. I did enjoy how it showcased more advanced force powers (how is phasing across the galaxy and holding back an army not badass?) It also gave us more insight into what using those advanced force powers might cost the Jedi. I thought that grounded things, which was rather necessary after Leia's Mary Poppins moment earlier in the film.
  23. * sigh * My attempt to steer the discussion back on topic failed. I'll let someone else give it a try.
