  1. Lookin' good, and relieved to see Bandai is still supporting Dougram in this line.
  2. This is a good plan. I like this plan...and my order is in. My Yamato VE-1 was bought used, so it will be nice to have one in my collection that is new. I also like checking out the differences, if any, between the Yamato and Arcadia iterations—I mean, we've seen different whites already, might we get a different shade of grey?
  3. It seems we have another season of radomes upon us, and it promises to be good. I'm in for Chuck and Bandai's Orange Creamsicle colour scheme.
  4. Curious, although it's probably just a coincidence, Arcadia's PF SDF/DYRL reissues have been shadowing Bandai's HMR releases: HMR Milia 1J -> 1/60 Milia 1J + PF release HMR Max 1J -> 1/60 Max 1J + PF release HMR VE-1 -> 1/60 VE-1 PF release Wouldn't it be something if Arcadia reissued the VT-1 next with PF markings, and Hikaru's VF-1A and the VF-1D after that? I already have the Yamato release, but I must say I'm sorely tempted by this... What to do...? What to do...?
  5. Hoping to see this myself on Monday. Currently delayed by the weather...
  6. I had to double check and make sure my memory wasn't playing tricks, but sure enough Peaugh mentions it in his video review of the Metallic Guttur test shot way back when. Given how there is a texture on the later Metallic dinos, I'm hoping that GigaPower is continuing to use the same application. When compared to the Chrome versions in photos, it does look dull but in person it looks quite nice (to me anyway) and I have Fans Toys X dinos so I am all set for a group of shiny brutes. RE: TE-01 I've warmed up to it after watching Ben's review--especially that truck mode--but I'm also trying not to go overboard like I did with my third-party Megatron purchases. I need to see more before I cave.
  7. Thanks for the review. Unless GigaPower decided to forego the paint for the reissue, the Metallic version should have matte red paint baked onto the plastic. Grassor and Graviter have a similar red paint application, and it has a texture to it. Also, there are reports of red paint rubbing on the foam packaging for both the Metallic and Chrome reissues. Something new to watch out for, I guess. That's a relief! The hip ratchets were such a disappointment for me, and I didn't have the patience to wait for the replacement pieces that were sent out with Grassor later on. My old Chrome Guttur couldn't stand straight without me fiddling with him constantly. It was a frustrating thing at the time. I recall there was another problem, although I don't know how wide spread it was, where the arm joints were loose on the early copies of Metallic Guttur, Luckily, I didn't experience any of that with my old Chrome version. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting a new Metallic Gutter to add to my GigaPower team, then Swoop...
  8. Yeah, I am being repetitive. It's the result of being a season behind everyone else in the thread. I don't mean any harm by it. I haven't even looked at the winter anime list, and I have no idea what I'm going to watch next. Since my viewing pattern is to skip around until I find a groove, I'll probably go back to Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma and see if I can finish the third season. However, High Score Girl was also on my watch list too. I don't mind having a mute main character, if that's what you're getting at. That can work, if it is done well. I like my Aniplex releases, so I'm not bothered by the price of entry too much. With luck, Bunny Girl will be more Madoka Magica in that regard and less like Garden of Sinners..
  9. Got hooked on Rascal Does not Dream of Bunny Girl, and almost binged watched it in one sitting. I say almost because I stopped with three episodes left. I'll be watching those tonight. The plot twists related to adolescence are clever, and I really like the character interactions. Not sure I would describe this as a harem comedy, although it dresses itself up to look like one and then goes somewhere completely different. I like the genre play, and I know I'll be picking up the blu-ray whenever it arrives. Also finished Asobi Asobase over the weekend. Few anime have had me laughing out loud like this show. Definitely recommended. And although I would love a second season, the way the ended the last episode was almost too perfect.
  10. Quoted for truth. The downvoting feature was a morbid curiosity when it first came online here on the forum, but now it is patently useless (as others have stated and restated). I mean, at best it doesn't offer anything to the larger forum discussion (for instance, it doesn't hide posts like reddit downvotes); at worst it just confuses context and meaning by getting in the way and creating an obstacle that no one asked for. Personally, I've been less inclined to post here in the Toy forum because all the downvoting has made it difficult to discern honest posts from sarcastic posts, and the sad thing there is that before the downvoting craze I thought MW was one of the better places to hang out online and just talk about our shared hobbies. I didn't need to worry about misunderstanding people too often, and when I did it was easy to get things resolved. Now everything seems muddled. Quoted this for truth too. I think that's great no3Ljm--that you can find a good space and block it all out. Speaking for myself, sometimes the noise is just too constant, though, and that's when I drop off and take a break. I don't say that to point fingers. I just say that to say I have a different immunity to that sort of thing, I guess. I have other things that make me happy, so when the forum gets me down I turn to things away from MW and online social stuff. That's just how I roll,
  11. Same. After a good think, I'm passing on the SV-51 for now. Waiting for Arcadia's next big thing, which I hope they can get to some day.
  12. Indeed. With Zen2 we might get an Athlon XP/AMD64 situation again, and I don't mind one bit. For the sake of healthy competition, though, I hope Intel can get some traction this year. The last thing I want to see is Sonny Cove falling off the ends of the earth like Cannon Lake.
  13. I think we will have to wait and see what, if anything, Turing-based GPUs will offer. Right now, the software doesn't take full advantage of the hardware. However, this isn't a bad upgrade. I think it's a good option for users who play the long game and like to hold onto their video cards and upgrade systems on a budget. This will be a good replacement for a GTX 960 or 970 for example. I expect the RTX 2060 may be one of the coolest, lowest noise parts of the RTX family, so for those looking to build custom systems for a specific purpose (like an HTPC or console PC), this iteration could be useful in that case too. As a side note, I think the RTX branding is confusing. I kind of understand why nVidia bumped the numbers one level for Turing, but I still feel like we have a fourth tier that is yet to be announced or that is missing. I don't know. It's tough to adapt to the new mantra of RTX 2060 = 1070, RTX 2070 = 1080, and RTX 2080 = 1080ti.
  14. Mm. I think Ben sold me on Magic Square's iteration. Since I have a long wait for MP-44, I'm tempted to pick up MS-01 in the meantime. I love the articulation, and how fun it appears to transform it back and forth. I like the silhouette when standing MS-01 next to MP-10 too. They both really look good together. The one area Magic Square might have improved, though, was the matrix chamber. Transform Element did a better job there making it so that the matrix is hidden in bot mode, but that's a minor nitpick.
  15. Ah, good point! Thanks for mentioning it, @Mazinger. I wasn't thinking about the possible low power requirements that could restrict throughput.
  16. Theoretically, a USB 2.0 cable should be able to handle a data transfer of up to 60MB/s so 30-40MB/s is in the ballpark.
  17. The motherboard and the card reader seem like a good fit. Hm...It could be that the SD card is a bum card. One other experiment you could run is to try other SD cards with the ProGrade reader. If you have other ultra high speed SDs, for instance, see if they give you limited transfer rates or if they perform closer to spec. If you get better transfer rates from other SDs, then you know it's the card and not the reader that's at fault.
  18. UHSII supports around 300MB/s. Check the following for a deep dive: https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/storage/1404380/how-to-choose-an-sd-card-class-and-speed-ratings-explained-and-pick-the-best-microsd My guess is that the advertised 200MB/s is mostly accurate and there is something else going on with jenius's particular PC configuration. What brand/model USB-C card reader are you using? Also, do the specs say that the card reader actually supports UHSII? Is that listed among the supported bus interfaces? Is there anything to note specific to the motherboard? Could there be a firmware update that enhances the USB-C port in some way?
  19. Indeed. Minmay was a happy surprise. I hope they continue with the same momentum once they move passed this little bump that the VF-1S delay has added to their release schedule. I'm looking forward to Rick/Hikaru in March and I'm waiting for the next figure to pop up on the KC site so that I can pre-order it early this time.
  20. Nice. It looks like the GBP armour has articulated hands.
  21. To me, the close-up of Max looks better than the group shot. I'm really into the new character reveals, and can't wait to see Dana/Jeanne wearing her armour too. The Valkyries look nice. If Kitz Concept gets to the TV Valkyries that I've been waiting on (Rick, Max, and Ben) before Bandai or Arcadia, then they'll have me.
  22. I don’t mind having an Art Critique of Robotech thread, but I think @Old_Nash beat you to the punch with the new Robotech comics. Also, why have seven different threads for subcategories discussing the same subject? Why not merge them into one topic?
