I believe that the Seacons will be marketed under the Generations Selects brand, so there's a good possibility that this combiner will see a global release. The real question is will it be a complete box set or will they sell the bots individually like they did for the PotP Elita-1 combiner? I guess that remains to be seen...- 16670 replies

Those proportions are way off, and what's with the dark blue legs and sneaker white feet? Pre-order cancelled!

Arcadia 1/60 VF-4A ‘Flashback 2012’ Premium Finish & Regular Release
technoblue replied to no3Ljm's topic in Toys
Thanks for posting the close-up shots of those VF-4G promo posters, @abbadon! Funny thing is, I zoomed in on the original photo just now from the other thread (with the full Arcadia Wonderfest display) and noticed the words 'premium finish' both on the 4G and 0D posters there as well. I can't believe I missed that the first time. HaHa! So it goes...- 1112 replies

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
technoblue replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah. I like that G1 Unicron face sculpt Zeta is teasing but Hasbro's dimensions are already at my own personal limit. If I have to compromise, and I have to choose one Unicron at the end of August, I will go Hasbro but that's just my opinion.- 9129 replies

Including a head/face swap gimmick to give Unicron a more movie accurate head with the 'stache and beard would be a cool incentive. The sail barge is really the only true litmus test for this, and I believe Hasbro added on a number of nifty things after it was funded, so there is hope in that sense. This campaign just needs to cross the finish line first to see what extras are in store. Personally, speaking to the Fewture sculpt, I can do without the high cheek bones, the very human nose, and the tongue. I think those take the face too far in the other extreme.- 16670 replies

Curious, although I wish they had been able to keep the cat noses from the musical.

HaHa! I forgot about that too. Anyway, I'm okay with that price if it is locked in. I have one coupon that I know will help some if the official pre-order goes live in the next couple of months. And if I stop being lazy with my for sale pile, and get my items posted, then that will help too.

Yes! I've been looking forward to Ratchet too. I really like how they reused the Ironhide sculpt in this case. https://tformers.com/sdcc-2019-walgreens-exclusive-siege-ratchet-product-images/35349/news.html He has a few more add-ons to carry around with him as well, and an official 'med bay' mode. Not sure why Walgreens is holding back, but if I end up missing the online order, I'm hoping I can catch sight of him at a local store. I pass a few on the way back and forth to work.- 16670 replies

I didn't see links for the amazon siege exclusives, so I'm adding them to the thread in case anyone still needs them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P2JB241/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NZ86GJP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PZY481L/?coliid=IAUS9TZAMN42Y&colid=1IFPXV9M6WIWG&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it HaHa! Between this, HasbroPulse, and other store exclusives I think my budget for official Transformers is now overdrawn.- 16670 replies

Thanks for the quick summary. It really does look like another good one.

Okay! That new trailer has piqued my interest. I'll definitely set some time aside to see this at the cinema.

Nice build @kanedaestes! That Harley is one smooth ride, even in LEGO. Does this expert set include any interesting gimmicks?

Yeah. I think the amount of printing detail that Bandai is including out of the box on their DX releases is creating some good competition in this space. It could be causing Arcadia to up their game, so to speak. I know there are those who aren't into it, and are even cheesed off by it, by I don't mind this move to PF+ at all. I'll be in on the 0D as long as the price isn't too crazy. With luck, the store coupons I've been hoarding will be able to lessen the wallet fatality on this. In any case, I also hope we get details for the pre-order during Arcadia's big Wonderfest reveal.

Same here. I'll probably get an invoice on Sunday, since that's how things tend to go for my AmiAmi pre-orders.

My understanding is that the 'Collections' subtopic is for other Macross stuff not included in the Toys, Games, Model Kits, and Workshop subtopics. JetJockey posted the two Megazone 23 cel auctions (which I assume are not his own) so that anyone who is interested can bid on them. It's simple really, we started talking about the popularity of Mikimoto's current work and then went on to talk more about specifics. I'm happy that another fan of Mikimoto is willing to share their source for this stuff. Is this really something to bicker about? Anyway, I don't think JetJockey should be called out for it. It's on-topic Megazone 23, it's art, and there isn't really any other place for it. Let's all remember Shawn's new forum behavior post and just move on, yeah? Like I noted earlier, I would have loved to be able to pledge to the Purrfect/Pearlescent Patron to get the shikishi bonus. It's out of my budget this time, sadly, with all of the other stuff hitting this summer. I am hopeful of being able to pledge to the Unicron-style Portrait Patron. If that doesn't work out, then I'll stick to the regular Patron and get the smaller sized portrait that they are including as an add-on.

SSSS Gridman & SSSS Dynazenon Anime
technoblue replied to JetJockey's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Indeed. Another example is that Samurai Calibur, Max, Borr, and Vit are all modeled after the Age of Extinction Dinobots. It's a trip, but classic Trigger. I think the Evangelion references are deeper cuts, cheeky but recognizable if you are familiar with the show (like the Dangaio scenes you noted earlier). -
Alas, I did miss that Gunbuster cel auction and I'm not sure if Mikimoto is doing sketches at conventions. I haven't been to one myself in a number of years, although I would like to attend Anime Boston next year while I'm still local. The sketch art idea is pretty cool. I'll have to remember that if I decide to start collecting artwork. At the moment, I like to browse the cel art collections that people share here, but I haven't started one of my own. It's a little daunting since the well maintained/popular cel collections get pricey fast.

SSSS Gridman & SSSS Dynazenon Anime

SSSS.Gridman had so many cool Easter Eggs. I appreciated how Trigger referenced different Transformers themes with the character art. -

Unicron is a beast--I love it. I don't know if I'll be able to budget for it by the deadline, but this for sure is a grail-level centerpiece. I saw an animated GIF of the mouth movement (in planetoid mode), and it's so smooth. I'm curious to see what other gimmicks are included with this giant boy. 27" tall in bot mode--he stands taller than my bookshelf speaker stands!- 16670 replies

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
technoblue replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
https://mikatan.goodsmile.info/en/2013/05/01/jargon-in-the-figure-industry/ Kahotan's blog has some definitions for common industry jargon, including 'decomasu' decoration master (or what we like to call the painted prototype). Curious if this is just the painted prototype of the VF-0D that we've seen with some concrete release-related info or if it is a prototype of another figure that Arcadia has been working on?- 796 replies

It's hard to believe that the last release of the VF-1D was Yamato's 30th Anniversary box from 2012. The VT-1 is higher on my wish list, though, especially if Arcadia is going to stick with straight reissues and the premium finish stuff. If they start adding updated or extra figs to future VF-1s, like they did with the YF-19 and the VF-19 Kai, that would be a little more tempting.

^ EVA-01 and 02 are looking good together on display. Here's to hoping that all the pre-orders for 02 come through without a hitch.
