  1. Aside from the rule of cool, I’m not sure why that particular part of the 1J’s head needs armour. In any case, it would have been neat if Arcadia figured out a way to attach a grey piece to the visor because then those who truly care would have the best of both worlds!
  2. Yeah, I remember this debate going the other way back when Arcadia released their GBP set the first time. To balance the scales, here's an old archive pic of mine with the first-release Arcadia 1J wearing Yamato's GBP armour. The Yamato armour is the missile effects version and has extra Tampo prints. The Arcadia armour is on the DYRL 1A in the background. I'm seriously tempted by the new white goggle 1J since I sold off my Yamato version ages ago and the paint does look nice on this reissue. But the idea of a PF Hikaru 1J of any sort gives me pause.
  3. I was going to sleep on this one since I have Arcadia's first release but if this is true, they have my attention. All good points, when discussing Arcadia's first release of the armour set. This time, it could be legit. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that Arcadia has made tweaks to the colour scheme for a reissue. See the VF-19 Kai and PF 0D box sets. I guess we'll see when more people get these in hand. The upside to having white goggles is that the 1J can do double duty as a TV Hikaru 1J, if you want to use the included armour on a different fighter.
  4. Huh. What an odd choice. Since I already have Takara's Siege Nemesis/Black Convoy, this will be an easy pass for me. Oh, I know I'm in the minority on the Datsuns but I thought the Cybertronian slipper alts were well done. I mean, given the constraints that Hasbro usually sets for the mainline toys. I guess ER Prowl will test my willpower once I get him in hand.
  5. Tell me about it, right? I was trying my best to skip these, and I wasn't impressed with the Prowl/Ironhide pair at first. Now though, it looks like I'll be forking over another $40 for them too just to get an updated Ironhide to go with this Ratchet. Prowl will be the odd one out since I'm not really keen on the ER Datsuns. I prefer the Siege look and won't be getting the others. Yeah, Ironhide should have had window shading, even if it was a light blue shading like Ratchet. I get the G1 homages and all, but it looks better all the same. I wish the wheels and the feet were slightly remolded too. They have a good amount of parts hiding the fact that there is a lot of Siege in ER Ironhide and Ratchet, but those bits are dead giveaways. Arcee, Elita-1, and even Lifeline here I think work best in bot mode (even with the odd paint apps on Arcee and Elita-1). Yeah, it is kind of frustrating that more thought wasn't put into their alt mode configuration, especially to differentiate each of the vehicles. Since partsforming is a big deal in this line, it could have been easy to remold the fembot shells to make up new Cybertronian cars. Oh well.
  6. OOoo! These will be fantastic if those pictures are representative of the final product. Lifeline looks to have Arcee’s missing paint apps, even in alt mode (are those grey accents on the side of her backpack/hoverboard?). Love the face detail on both and the clean ER look too.
  7. It will be interesting to see how many of the new 12-pin connectors appear on the RTX 3090 founders edition GPU. They are physically smaller than standard molex connectors, as shown in this tweaktown article: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/74664/nvidias-new-12-pin-connector-is-super-small-on-geforce-rtx-30-series/index.html That said, having only one on the 3070/3080 will be an improvement over the current setup, but on the 3060...not so much: RTX 2070/2080 Founders Edition 8+6 (14-pin) molex connection RTX 2060 Founders Edition 8-pin molex connection
  8. Yeah. The animated series was more refined than the second live action series. Kovacs’ sister had a better part to play in it too; it felt like a spiritual successor to the first season. I enjoyed the second season for what it was, but in the end felt it did suffer from a lack of direction. I mean it started okay with a good dose of action and a new mission, and I was okay seeing a couple familiar faces being used to forward plot elements but then it went off the rails. It was like the writers forgot that people in this universe use sleeves and with each new episode it quickly became less about Kovacs and his pursuits and more about those around him like Poe his AI companion, his sister, and Quellcrist.
  9. Sad news. I thought we would get at least one more season out of this like Dark. https://www.darkhorizons.com/altered-carbon-canceled-by-netflix/
  10. I could only peek since I don’t have a FB account, and I couldn’t find the v2 renders. I did see a video for what looks like a heavily stylized 3P Screamer with a nifty feathered wing gimmick that folds out from the plane’s wings. Very interesting. The shape of the torso reminds me of TF Animated Screamer which is cool too. Is this from the same company doing Nicee: BigFireBird? Edit: Had to view FB on the desktop to see the 3D renders. Those are cool. I wonder what other TF communities are saying about the work the tfw community has done to put those together? Here is the 3P Starscream that piqued my interest before. PF-01 Red Falcon. This is my first time seeing it. https://m.weibo.cn/status/4542231992605202?#&video
  11. Mm. I hope TV Roy avoids the mirrored modex number issue we’re seeing on the DYRL fighters, the TV releases have been 2 for 2 so far...but I do like the idea of the decal sheet. It would be very cool if Bandai releases a TV version of it at some point.
  12. Fair point. I’ve been quite happy with all the Weaponizers that have been released to date, the Powerdasher repaints too. Giving it more thought, skipping Fasttrack and Roritchi just because I’m not picking up Scorponock seems silly.
  13. I think I'm going to pass on Roritchi. Fasttrack was a little more interesting at first, but I ultimately opted out on him too. I guess I'm not much of a Scorponock/Black Zarak fan. Happy for those who are excited for this one, though. The gold on Roritchi certainly makes him pop. Wishing I held onto my ER Trailbreaker order. The early reviews are very positive.
  14. Yeah, like the Mass Production VF-0A. After the PF 0D, I'm all for Arcadia revisiting both 0A liveries. Circling back to the VT-1, I'm hoping it has more cred because Mr. K was teasing it but who knows?
  15. The VT-1 will get here given time. It was already teased and Arcadia is slowly but surely working through their backlog. I will be surprised if we see an official announcement for it before 2021, though.
  16. I don't know, it looks like it has room to recess underneath the wing to me. I guess we'll see when we catch a glimpse of the alt mode prototype. Maybe at that point Takara will have a color test ready too? I'm not too fussed about the issues or the quirks at this stage. To me it seems like they're experimenting with the proportions of the early grey proto to see what works and what doesn't work so well. The null rays are a big clue since the pin mechanism shown here and in the CAD files lends credence to the idea that they are meant to transform into the thin, longer, more familiar pieces and Takara (for whatever reason) just isn't ready to show off that feature. With any luck, it will work as they intend and there won't be any compromises to get there.** ** I'm reminded of how MP Hound's integrated shoulder cannon got in the way of a simpler head transformation. Let's avoid that!
  17. Definitely. The price and quality of the final version are still big concerns. It'll be nice if Takara gives us some relief but I also don't want to be disappointed so I'm not expecting too much in that regard. That's a good question. I find the whole backpack area quite curious. It looks like there is a lot of folding along the roots (?) for both the main wings and the tail fins which tuck away the vertical stabs. I really like how the pointy bits of the same wing roots now fold up and tuck out of the way to help preserve leg articulation, which is a change from MP-3 and MP-11. Also, the cockpit transformation is completely different. No more splitting real cockpit parts apart like on the G1 toy, MP-3, and MP-11 but that now begs the question how will it all work? Anyway, as long as the changes keep from creating a frustrating complexity, I'm okay with it. I mean, I do like a good puzzle now and then. Nice! Thank you for that confirmation, @sh9000.
  18. And now we have early prototype images of the new MP Screamer. This first straight-on shot has me scratching my head since the proportions look squished, but I'm very much into the transforming null rays and articulated hands. The side profile doesn't look bad at all to my old eyes, and now I'm really curious to see where the alt-mode cockpit is hidden if that bot-mode cockpit is there just for show. The torso seems nice and compact. The backpack is looking cleaner than I expected too, especially given all the foldy alt-mode bits that are bundled in there. The legs look to have a nice shape from the side and back angle, and the detail on the hinged intakes is nice to see. Let's not forget the improved butt flap engineering. Finally, the line can move on from MP-22.
  19. So, a little bit of MMC news this morning. They announced their version of Stormbringer Optimus Prime (aka Optus Pexus), and word is he will be part of their Reformatted line! Exciting stuff and more than welcome after Hot Rod and Megatron IMO. Besides which, I can always use another Optimus to beef up my Prime collection too. https://www.facebook.com/CreationsMastermind/photos/pb.134216339973092.-2207520000../3332570840137610/?type=3&theater Looking at the pictures, things seem far along and I'm really into the fully articulated hands at this scale. I hope they're a solid design. It seems that MMC is opting for Milne's artistic cues for bot mode, and I'm okay with that. I'm very curious though to see alt mode and I wonder if it will be closer to the artwork or if MMC will take some liberties as they sometimes do. Also, how tall this will end up in bot mode? Will he be head to head with Reformatted Megatron? A little taller or a little shorter? Yeah, so many questions, and I'm already waiting on other releases like their Ocular Max Brawl (Probus, due out this month I think) and Star Convoy (Stellarus Prominon). Well, one can't have too many Primes...
  20. Probably a coincidence, but all G2 Decepticons with a -storm suffix have sold out on Pulse. Rotorstorm and now Sandstorm. Wait. Isn't Sandstorm an Autobot Triple Changer? HaHa, just having fun with that one. Although it would have been nice to get Sandstorm as a Triple Changer in WFC. I guess getting G2 Sandstorm means that's less likely. Starting with Sideswipe, the G2 repaints have all impressed me in this line. IMO, I think the latest G2 Megatron purple and green look actually fits the Earthrise mould better than his familiar G1 scheme, especially in alt mode. Yeah, it would have been superb to see more remolding work on his bot mode chest to get the tank shape correct, but I'm not going to be too fussy about it. Hasbro has already shown that they go out of their way to keep costs down. They've been doing that for years across multiple Transformers lines. Oh well. For those still looking for Sandstorm, I'm not privy to the reputation of these shops, but pre-orders are still up at Entertainment Earth and Dorkside Toys: https://www.entertainmentearth.com/s/transformers/t?query1=Transformers&theme=transformers&landingpageid=5396&filter=Pre-Order&sort=newly-added https://dorksidetoys.com/collections/transfomers?page=2 Places like the Chosen Prime and TFSource also still have it on pre-order at a markup.
  21. I'm a sucker for the Siege and Earthrise homages to G2, which is funny since the original G2 toys didn't really catch my eye when I was younger. The new purple and green G2 Megatron will complete my G2 trio since I already have the earlier Selects Siege and Takara Legends iterations. Sandstorm is a curiosity, and I'm happy to see the added camouflage and nose art details. It makes me wish that Ramjet and Dirge had extra apps in alt mode too, like stripes on their wings. Anyway, I was able to pre-order one of each on Pulse. February is going to be a long wait.
