  1. Wow. I'm really into what Takara is doing with the UW line. The mold changes on the Constructicons are sweet. Edit: Ironhide is interesting. Minus the hip kibble, robot mode is very faithful to the cartoon. And yet, the pictures make him look too big next to Optimus, as if he was taking the same protein supplements as Ultra Magnus. I want to see more. Comparing this to the Voodoo Robots 3P Ironhide/Ratchet mold should be fun.
  2. That's a nice shelf-o-valkyries, viiof.
  3. Gah! Thanks, viiof. The DYRL hands look sweet once the GPB wrist plates are out of the way. I'll ammend my wish: It would be nice to peg in DYRL-style hands that have poseable fingers.
  4. I was impressed with the movie. The easter eggs were fun, and each one was delivered with a 2199 twist. I also agree with Keith that it seems to give a number of hints to a possible second arc. If this comes to pass, it will simply rock.
  5. LoL! Best to leave the drool-worth photos to other members. Armor buddies (Arcadia 1J in Yamato Armor; Yamato DYRL 1A in Arcadia armor): A cool add-on would be DYRL-type hands for the GBP armor pegs. I'll have to search Shapeways.
  6. Nora runs into a porcupine (Arcadia 1J in Yamato armor):
  7. You got them all right, Mechapilot. Scratch that. Mechapilot got the first two right. Tallman and Pedro got them all right. The giveaway is the slight gap in the leg seem of the Yamato 1J. Yeah, I'm not arguing the difference because everyone's camera does a good job of picking it up. To me, though, it is subtle, even with the lights on and the shades drawn. I think both the Yamato and Arcadia 1Js look very good together. Here are some armor parts comparisons that I did under the same conditions. The Arcadia parts are on the right/bottom, depending on the orientation of the photo. The other set is from Yamato's special missile effects version, which has more Tampo printing out of the box. Here is some leg armor: Here are the arms (note the white): Shoulder pieces: Chest pieces:
  8. This thread needs more pics. With respect to Valkyrie Addict's Arcadia-Yamato 1S comparison... Which 1J is which? In this quick shoot, I am comparing the new grey-goggle Arcadia release to the white-goggle 30th Anniversary Yamato release. I did my best to hide the goggles. I only used ambient light coming in from the windows. No house lights and no flash. For the next shot I flipped the positions of each 1J. The one on the bottom above is now on the top. And here is a third photo with a vertical layout:
  9. Good photos, Anubis. I don't have a grey-goggled Yamato, but I did compare the white on my Arcadia 1J to the white on my Yamato 30th 1J. The contrast is even less striking with these two, but it does look like Arcadia's white is new and bright and Yamato's white is slightly aged. A few other points: My copy did not include Valkyrie specific option parts. Since I have these with Yamato's 1J, I'm okay with that. It looks like Arcadia got the Tampo printing right this time! I didn't see any missing or misaligned markings.
  10. It's a decent shop. I haven't had any problems getting complete orders from them.
  11. Not sure how east coast times compare, but I got my shipping notice 06/01/2015 and it reached ISC NEW YORK (USPS) at 1600 today. The air travel is usually very quick. From New York, EMS deliveries get to my house within two days unless there is a holiday or a big storm bearing down and stalling everything.
  12. Valkyrie Addict's comparison of Roy's 1S is excellent. That thread brings back some good memories. I still think Arcadia should release their version of Max's 1S... Yeah, maybe someday... My GBP+1J made it through customs in New York. This set had me questioning my pre-order for the longest time. I'm glad I kept it.
  13. I'm in at the premium level, too. I wish I had the spare cash to pledge for that LAST Sonada sketch or one of the four cells. If this is anything like the BGC Kickstarter, I imagine those will also be gone in a blink of an eye this week. But no big deal. I haven't seen the full OVA, so I'm looking forward to that.
  14. ^^The all too numerous Yuki clones agree with this statement.
  15. I don't know what you guys are seeing that puts you off. This Yamamoto is my favorite because of how well It captures her likeness without being too extreme. And her smirk/smile is better than the first version with that deadpan expression.
  16. Oops. You're right about Roy's 1S. The tampo printing was consistent for both the DYRL and Macross TV releases until Arcadia dropped the ejection warning triangle for its initial release. I was thinking about Yamato's TV VF-1J and VF-1A. IIRC, the cannon fodder types had the most tampo printing in that line.
  17. The initial pictures look good (thanks, joppewo). With Arcadia's 1S releases, it was obvious from the start that something was off with the white plastic. I'm looking forward to more pictures (and to seeing my own in person). Which release was that? Except for the brownies, I thought all TV releases were light on tampo printing.
  18. Hm... I wonder what the other picture was for? I mistook it for box art.
  19. After seeing the box art, someone here sent a follow-up question to Mr. K asking about the color of the visor on Twitter. Unlike the last time, this time he noted that it was grey. What does this mean? We'll find out when we start seeing new photos in this thread.
  20. HLJ's page for Arcadia's VF-1J has been updated from Order Stop to Low Stock. I also received a message from N-Y noting that they have regular stock of Arcadia's 1J available. My guess, based on that, is that those who pre-ordered will see payment requests/shipping notices this weekend.
  21. Good question. My first G1 toy was either Starscream or Soundwave.
  22. From the VF-0A/0S thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=42180&page=14
  23. Mm. The former Hub network. Yeah. Animated had a good story, three seasons, and an impressive cliffhanger at the end. The "chance" I was hoping for back in the day was an ending, even an open one, instead of that cliffhanger. Something similar to what Prime had for the last episode of its third season, or Predacons Rising. Animated might have benefited a lot from a movie or a fourth season. That was where I was going above...
