  1. ^Agreed. I can forgive misaligned markings and other small annoyances if the toy is solid. The hip ball joint issue has me concerned. It would have been nice to see it completely resolved for the 0A release. Hopefully, the 0S fairs better. On a related note, I took my 0A out for a test swoosh this evening. It looks very good, and I'm happy with the paint and the markings out of the box. I'll have to reference this thread during my first transformation to take careful note of the scratch points (like the triangles). Also, the head laser on my copy sits straight in case anyone is keeping track.
  2. Thanks for the detailed step-by-step guide, ChaoticYeit. Although I'm hoping for the best, it's good to know where to turn if Valkyrie limbs start flying across the table. And I've been meaning to pick up a a plastic spudger for dismantling electronic gadgets. These screw hole covers give me another good reason for picking up that tool.
  3. LibreOffice. JB0 covered the ins and outs. If you decide to stick with Microsoft, Office 2010 is my recommendation. After that, I hesitate to recommend Office. 2010 should support both .docx and .xlsx files without the cloud features.
  4. Oops. Yes, I was thinking of the end of Suruga Devil. I find that I get the order mixed up on my head. But I'm not sure which arc ErikElvis is referencing. Yotsugi Doll was the most dialogue heavy in the beginning.
  5. It does have the weightiest monologues of the bunch, which I agree can slow the pacing of the anime, but it also starts to move fast closer to the end. There is also a nice resolution for a certain character.
  6. I like it. Now everyone who has a 0D and a 0A can share in this secret, bonus paint scheme or something.
  7. I haven't posted to this thread in a long while, so here goes...cell phone pics incoming. Nora was out on patrol this morning and caught sight of something amidst the haze. Time for some target practice. I'll have to wait until later to pull the 0A out of the box and bubble wrap (along with the other new things). Back to work for now.
  8. Looking good! But Arcadia needs a new ball joint inspector. How does the same thing happen twice over two releases? ChaoticYeti was all: Try again, try again And now Shin can: Fly away, fly away
  9. Happy to read that the feel is improved on the new 0A. Sad to see the magnets go...
  10. +1 I got my order preparation message from NY too. But the 0S pre-order mystery continues...
  11. I would guess that they are waiting to get the VF-0A orders out of the way. It hasn't shipped yet! I expect NY to send those notices sometime on Monday. Perhaps the 0S will go up for pre-order at the same time? But the wait is getting long... HLJ has good customer service and shipping prices to my location, and that pre-order is tempting me...
  12. I'm with myk. Yuki having a defiant face seems to fit her character better for that scene than this pouty, sexy look. I'm all for artistic license, but some of the more recent face sculpts are really throwing me off. Than again, maybe no one else is looking at the faces but I'm glad for Analyser's prompting. It would have taken me longer to connect the dots without his help. In contrast, I have no problem with Yamamoto having a coy smile/smirk instead of her "give-em-hell" look. Her chararcter did smile on screen, and although I can't remember her doing so with a gun in hand, I have no issues with it. Anyway, I guess I'm in the minority. I know more members seem to agree with you and treatment. As an aside, her new figure just shipped from amiami after a couple delays.
  13. If the skull and crossbones are to be stickers, I think many a 0S will be photographed flipping tables on release day.
  14. It's a different story, so I would say that it was more of a reboot than a sequel. And it has its own timeline. It might be better to think of it as an alternate or parallel universe. The writers did some risky things with a few characters that really paid off later on in the show. Animated is definitely up there in my top three.
  15. +1 Those pictures made the thread. Price? Money? What were we talking about?
  16. At the very least, he did not return it in the same shape in which it was taken from Liza Hollie and the Zola Patrol.
  17. Could be? I think the YF-19/VF-19 Advanced poll shows how Bandai could easily divide the community if they were able to get a license to do a DX line of traditional SDF Macross designs, or even Macross Plus designs. I wouldn't be surprised if local fans are asking questions similar to the ones that we ask here. They may be asking in a different way, though. Edit: On a separate note, I'm waiting to see what n-y does with the 0S pre-order before diving in...
  18. Okay. Smaller pre-order discounts seem to be a thing now. Curious.
  19. It appears that amiami's pre-order discount changed from 20% to 16%. I'm glad I'm moving my big orders to other on-line shops. As for the value discussion, it will be interesting to see what Mr. K writes on the blog. These plain releases of the 0A/0S cost >2x their Yamato counterparts! I think getting the ghost boosters would have made the price easier to reconcile, but still...
  20. Roll resistance on the 0S... Fail. Well, I'm in.
  21. Yeah 2012 was a tough year for the US dollar. I went ahead and paid for my 0A. I'm taking the glass half full approach, thinking that the stock market fuss is more of a correction for China. If things recover in a couple of weeks, it's no big deal.
  22. I'm somewhat conflicted in my reasoning. There is a part of me that is young at heart and that will continue to get googly-eyed over new announcements. There is another part of me that keeps working against this impulse, though, and is making more of an effort now to keep my collection small. For instance, I have an active sell/trade pile in the home office that is getting larger and larger. This older part of me is also trying to define an endpoint for my collection. I'm not quite sure what that is, though. I do know that I am looking for it. I experienced the estate side of things when my Dad passed after a sudden illness in 2002. I was in my late 20s and he was a collector. His passions were for music and technology, cycling and chronometers. He kept all boxes, all receipts, and he even had a creative storage methodology for his things when he was going to be away traveling. It was a tough time and I was the executor...anyway, it's not really a story for this forum so I apologize for being vague. Suffice it to say, keeping the collection small and in balance with the rest of my house and life became a very personal decision for me. The number of 1/60 VF-1As that I own proves that I do slip up from time to time, but I think I will eventually get back to a small grouping of favorite items.
  23. Wait. Is that the Christopher Nolan version of My Melody?
