  1. It'll be something if they can fit all of those gimmicks in and keep it transformable and sturdy/durable. If it's just a glowy 1J statue? I'm not sure if I'll bite. I would be more interested in glowy goodnes with a capital ship such as the SDF-1 or the Battle-7 in cruiser mode.
  2. Easy. Buy MegaHouse's TV SDF-1 and start an SDF-1 family!
  3. Okay. The photo evidence proves it. Ultra Magnus is a big boy. Seriously, though I feel better about the size of this SDF-1. Thanks for stacking the boxes and doing the comparison, Saburo.
  4. I'm really looking forward to this. And I really love when we get a glimpse of the capital ships. For instance is the SDF type another sister ship like the Global? It'll be fun to find out. Also, as someone who enjoyed AKB0048 I don't get that vibe from the trailer. The trailer makes it appear as though these different groups are fighting for territory. Could that be control of the planet or something else? Again, it'll be fun to find out.

Only if you agree not to take any photos of the transformation.
  6. Truly, you've hit the nail on the head Kanedas Bike. No one knows what they have until it's gone. I'm happy about the Bandai's announcements, but I share your confusion with certain posts. It's odd seeing the awkward comedy/sarcasm wishing for Arcadia to fold. If nothing else, I hope they receive the news well and become even more passionate for their own designs. I'd love to see them make some leaps next year and bring more new things to market. If Bandai is bringing a flood, then I think that makes for a great opportunity that Arcadia can use to debut unique molds and reissue rare paint schemes.
  7. Thanks, dwc. Wow. That SDF-1 looks massive surrounded by the micro figures.
  8. Are there other pictures of the 1/1800 SDF-1 that were posted somewhere? I thought the picture that jvmacross posted was of the Yamato 1/2000 SDF-1 kit? Anyway, I'm hoping this is more of a toy that transforms or a statue like the Soul of Chogokin Space BattleShip Yamato with interesting gimmicks and cool details.

Bandai is doing an an excellent job of boxing in the competition. I'll give you that. I am curious about the lack of a 1/60 (or in the ballpark) scale VF-1. Wouldn't that be the one "blow" to quiet the speculation? It's odd that this is missing. Personally, I'm glad because I hope that means Arcadia was able to hold onto something in the face of Bandai's superb news. I still think there is room for both companies, but look at how the tables have turned! They could be in the pipeline, but they are not official releases (no dates).
  10. I'm also in until the very end. Or maybe I should explain my comments from the HM-R thread: Although it's tempting to go tiny, I think variety is a good thing. Besides, I really want to see this in person.
  11. LoL! This SDF-1 is toying with my emotions. I'd love to pick one up if the pre-order works out and if I can find the space. Maybe I'll park it next to the car.

But less room than that 1/1800 SDF-1. I'll find a corner.

As fond as I am of my 1/60-scale Valkyries, there is a good argument here for downsizing. As the HM-R line continues to take off, it gets harder for me to ignore that argument. The only issue will be with the pre-orders. Bandai's have been notoriously difficult to make here on the east coast unless I'm into losing sleep that night or big on setting my alarm at odd hours and waking up everyone else in the house. I do think 1/100 is a great scale for squadrons, especially if Bandai is able to complete them where Arcadia has been reluctant to do so.
  14. I miss my Yamato 1/48s, so I'm looking forward to more news on this release with improved detail and proper scaling (I hope, hope, hope).
  15. In other words, this is a debate of semantics (the worst of all debates). The VF-4, VF-2SS, and VF-0A are only teased. My guess is that the author pulled that info from some part of the slide presentation that is floating around in the forum: the one where Bandai is polling which 1/100 release to do next. Note that the Regult, Gulag, and VF-1S in the list all have release dates.

Huh? The article in sharky's link has hypertext links, as you say, but they do not go to separate news stories. They go to the ANN pages for the particular Macross series/ova. Do you have the links to the other news stories?
  17. The thing that I like about Macross as a property is that it isn't afraid to change. But I understand how the same changes that bring new/creative ideas sometimes leave fans behind. For me, Frontier was easy to get into as a series. I enjoyed it as much as I have any other Macross series/ova that I've seen to date. But I wasn't quick to adopt Bandai's DX toys. I think I'm going to take the same wait and see approach for the Macross Delta DX toys. I need more of a connection than just a good design or some possible link to a real-world aircraft. And with that said, I know it's also possible that Macross Delta could be a flop for me too. It may be a series for some other demographic. And that's okay. With all the news in the last 24 hours, we certainly have options.
  18. This makes sense to me. Also, I cannot fit that large scale SDF-1 anywhere at home and would like to see the smaller version reissued again someday (in SDFM or DYRL colors).
  19. Alas, I have no space and must pass on this.
  20. Not to worry. Beeker still works for those who are panicking about the price. Meanwhile, if one is impatient or loves Yamato to bits, jungle has them covered with a substantial markup: http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=116&do=detail&id=101000017603
  21. The tribute early in the episode was well done. And the rest of it was fun, as it should be. Looking forward to a good third series.
  22. Ouch. The licensing rumors seems like a lot of unfortunate timing for Arcadia. If any of it is true, hopefully this time out is just temporary. In the meantime, I like how the company is revisiting other Macross properties. And the price of the 4G means that I'm locked in for a second copy. Oh yeah. I would buy the MAXL in a heartbeat - and the VF-17T. In fact, I think Macross 7 would be a good series to revisit along with Macross Zero, if Arcadia was able to renew that license too. On a more personal note, having a complete Sound Force squadron is something of a holy grail.
  23. Well...I have nothing against her VF-11 MAXL. Bring it! Maybe they could sneak her Valkyrie in over the summer and release the Macross Zero Reactive Armor in the fall? The licensing stuff is over my head. I hope Arcadia still has the ability to make VF-1 toys and is just trying to be smarter than Yamato about each release. I guess time will tell where the next VF-1 comes from in this scale- a topic for another thread.
  24. I agree with jvmacross. After the VF-4G and the VF-0A Mass Production version in 2016, I wouldn't be surprised to see announcements for Max and Milia Super 1Js. Of course, I would be equally happy with anything new from Macross 7.
  25. ThreeZero put the 1/6 scale figure of Blake Belladona up for preorder this week: http://www.threezerostore.com/index.php?type=Categories&id=21&pid=104〈=en-US She is also available at BBTS: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=THZ10058&mode=retail And HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/thz92038/Fig among others...
