Didn't wolfx cite Gundam 00 as an example as a recent series with no animation flubs at all? I'm not even going to bring up the last episode of the season cause that would be too easy.

Macross Frontier S.M.S - what does it stands for ?

Speedy Miracle Spacy does sound like what the Japanese would name a space based shipping company. -

I do find it weird that Howard Glass would be the president for all of NUN and the head of state of Frontier. It would seem to be a conflict of interest. Not to mention that the seat of power for the old UN was always on Earth. -

The term GAR originated as a mispelling of the word gay. After the episode of Fate Stay/Night where , a poster on 4chan exclaimed that he had turned "gar" for him, so technically GAR stands for "Gay for ARcher". The term then mutated into a general term of appreciation of an act so manly, that the poster would go homosexual, and then further mutated into just being a term for someone who is manly. So ironically, Bobby Margot is one of the few characters that actually can truly be considered "gar". -

You can't base animation quality on random screenshots. Inbetween frames were never meant to be stillframed and antagonized over, they're only meant to convey motions in between keyframes. -
Well, while job searching and doing random side projects, I marathoned Macross 7 in the background, and picked up some interesting facts that I forgot. The first New Macross fleet, Macross 1, was launched in 2030, and was the 28th long range colonization fleet. Macross 7 launched in 2038. Ep 4 of Frontier seems to indicate that Frontier(Macross 25) was launched 12 years prior to the series. This would mean between 2038 and 2047, 18 New Macross fleets were launched between Earth and Eden combined. I guess what I'm getting to is that to account for this large jump in production, the first of the Eden built New Macross fleets probably start rolling off the line sometime after 7 was launched.

Whatever SMS means, their civilian front is a shipping company, so I doubt M stands for Military. -
It's a shame all the people that got introduced (or reintroduced) to Macross through Plus consider Macross to be some sorta super serious business franchise. Macross has never taken itself seriously and is prone to be a bit silly at times. But I guess if you don't like 7, you wouldn't like Fleet of the Strongest Women. I personally can't stop laughing at the awesomeness of it.

Huh? Other than the other bunk that you just said, this right there takes the cake. The F-14 wasn't a dogfighter, it was an interceptor, more accurately, it was a missile delivery system for the Phoenix AAM. If we're talking about a pure knife fighter, the most proven one is the F-15 Strike Eagle. -

Dude, 00's characters were ridiculously simple and under detailed compared to Frontier's cast. Hell, Sheryl's hair has a larger color pallete than the entire series. -

Well, I'm sure sometimes the animators themselves know the final product is a bit subpar but they're working on a deadline for a weekly show. -

They normally correct animation in the DVD releases these days if there is a concern about the quality. Right now their main concern is getting the eps out on time. So don't let the quality in ep 6 deter you from buying the DVDs. -

If you look at the difference between the connected eco system of Frontier vs the separated ships of the 35th Long Ranged Colonization Fleet (Macross 7), I think we can assume that City 7 is an example of a chemical plant similar to Galaxy. -

Have we been watching the same Macross over the years? Cause the Macross I watch don't take themselves too seriously and are always a tad bit silly. Also, Dialogue: 0,0:05:05.20,0:05:06.20,Union Flag,,0000,0000,0000,,Lt Commander Ozma Lee. should be changed to Dialogue: 0,0:05:05.20,0:05:06.20,Union Flag,,0000,0000,0000,,Major Ozma Lee. Macross uses Army and Air Force ranks, not Navy, so Shousa would be Major, not Lt Commander. The Compendium also lists Ozma as a Major. -

Are people watching Macross with rose colored glasses? I really don't see how Frontier has anymore sexual content than previous series, or your average anime in general. -

I believe sometimes it's a dried up piece of the umbilical chord that mothers keep to wish their child grows up healthy and strong. Perhaps it's the only momento Alto has of his mother? -
Macross F's Homage To Past Shows/Waitin' For New Episodes
Phil K replied to DJ Loe Kee's topic in Movies and TV Series
The small tuna you're thinking of is the Albacore tuna, mostly found in the Mediterranian. In the Asian regions, they catch the Pacific Bluefin tuna, and as you can see, it is quite large. The Japanese word for Tuna is Maguro, which sounds like the Japanese pronunciation of Macro, thus a Tuna shows up in every production of Macross. -
