So since you have it in hand, can you tell us if the crotch can properly angle outwards and lock in the place without the black spacer piece? Excellent pictures man.

Man that kit looks pretty damn daunting and you still have to sand off all of the nub marks? I think the guys who produced this kit were possibly albeit to ambitious, but I like the idea of not having to sand off nub marks and such.

I think the crotch might still be able to lock in the place without the spacer piece because the underside looks really similar to the renewals. Possibly the spacer piece is just to fill the gap for aesthetic reasons or provide even more stability? I guess will know soon when people start getting theirs.

After looking at the clearer pictures, I'm quite impressed with this live action version of the Ingram. They didn't screw with the original design too much, a bit more sharp angles and panel lines, but it looks pretty good. So Bandai where's the SOC or SRC? Send in the toys!

First of all, there's not metal content in this guy, but I knew that already going in. I would say it has the "quality" of an SOC i.e. excellent joint tolerances, paint, sculpting, engineering etc, but no gokin content. The build quality is excellent and feels on par with Bandai's robot spirits line, but with much sharper paint applications and well more paint in general. The only real negative is the high price for what is a 5.5 inch tall plastic figure at around $100 shipped. Since this is the only Orgun toy around there's not much else one can do. Some interesting tidbits: When you bend his chest forward it reveals some nice mechanical spine detail under the armor. Furthermore, he has ratcheting joints on the toe so you can do some stable running or lunging poses on a flat surface. Furthermore, the hip armor pieces are on ball joints and can move out of the way for wider stances.

I got detonator orgun today and I'm quite pleased with it. My quick thoughts: The paint job is crisp and clean although not quite as flawless as my riobot gurren lagann. Articulation is pretty good all around and even has a pull down joint at the hip like a figuarts figure. Although the shoulder armor kind of restricts movement at the shoulder because you can't completely raise the shoulders up, but's nothing terrible. The large gun has a hand already attached to it and getting the gun on him requires you to remove the shoulder pad and then to reattach it. It's a bit of a pain and it's slightly awkward to pose him with the gun, but it does look fantastic. When your replacing the hands be aware that the wrist guards may pop off so don't lose those. The figure feels really solid in hand and nothing flops around or has popped off while posing it. It's about time orgun finally got a toy it deserves. I'll post pictures and a gallery later.

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
SuperHobo replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The 00 Seven swords was released sometime in 2010 I think and it lingered at sites like BBTS for awhile and then stock eventually just dried up. I can only guess that when word got out that the metal build series was kickass that's when people started gobbling them up. Freedom gundam is good, but not great. The quality control on the paint wasn't as high as the previous releases. One dude's freedom gundam had the face and eyes painted and assembled in the wrong direction.- 6017 replies

Man I really like the look of the Repair I Exia, but I already have the regular MB exia. I think over time I'm going to fold and buy the repair I since that was probably my favorite look for Exia.- 6017 replies
