MW Member Poll: Are you planning to purchase the new Arcadia VF-0S?
SuperHobo replied to microtree33's topic in Toys
7. After thinking about it, it's a no for me. I have gone through 3 Arcadia valkyries now and all of them have had some loose joints right out of the box. My first YF-19 had a glued in hip mechanism and the second YF-19 has an odd scar across the head and non-locking forearms. For close to $300 per valkyrie (new molds) I want a level of a quality worthy of the price. No more QC lottery for me. I'm done with Arcadia. -
From what I recall on my VF-11b you can slide the entire hip socket out of the legs and then tighten the screw on the hip socket a full turn or two to your liking and it should fix any looseness. The hip sockets (joint + housing) is just held by friction in the hip area so you won't need to unscrew anything around the hip. Hope that helps!

If you're interested in selling the 0D I might be able to help you with that.

After disassembling a few Arcadia valks and then reassembling them for maintenance purposes, I have come up with a perfectly logical explanation for why the factory is charging so much. First of all, the factory charges so much money because their workers have to deal with the frustration of Arcadia's bone headed engineering ideas to make it as unbuilder friendly as possible. I would imagine the high amount of scrap rate is due to workers getting fed up and throwing the parts at a wall a few times before finally finishing a limb. This could also explain how some of the hips were falling off the zero series. -This was just a lighthearted post for fun. But seriously taking apart some Yamato valks were not super difficult, but Arcadia seems to go out of their way to make sure screws are all hidden or parts are glued shut..........or parts needed to be aligned at just the right angle, time of day and moment of heat to be able to screw them back together.

Can you recall your methods to removing them and putting them back?
-
I'm thinking I might use something to push the pin out just enough and take it out with a needle nose pliers. I'm just not sure it will go back in very easily...maybe I can use a mallet to softly tap it back in. I did this before with the 1/60 VF-1 V2 shoulder hinges when I had to replace them, but this hollow pin has me worried the same outcome may not happen.

If I were home I would put the 0D in spread eagle formation.

It's my favorite magazine for the articles........yes the precious articles.

I don't believe so. I wasn't talking about any of the leg tabs that are painted blue. I was specifically talking about the grey tabs on the back that anchor into the leg slots. Initially it was very hard to pull the legs down and while I tried using even pressure it looks like some small white stress marks appeared around the grey tabs. Thanks! Got to change up the standard valk poses here and there. Or covers from other magazines........

Got my 0D today and I like it for the most part. Pretty solid in all modes. However, on mine the right leg swivel is a little loose and the left shoulder is a little loose. Additionally, does anyone else have some stress marks on the grey tabs that clips into the legs in fighter mode? Good toy...but not sure if it's $290 good.

Yeah if someone could tell me how to remove a hollow pin safely that would be great. If not.....I can live with it.

It looks like my VF-0D's left shoulder is a little loose. Unfortunately I can't access the screw to tighten it without removing the pin on the metal hinge. Does anyone know how to remove the hollow spring pins from the shoulder and inserting it back in without damaging the shoulder assembly?

Hasbro's Devastator doesn't look too shabby at all. However, I can wait for the Takara version and be happy.- 16669 replies

Ahem...that's probably for the best. Anywho, Polygon Pictures clearly has enough material for a third season to possibly close out the series as a whole. Nihei is one his way to finishing the manga so by the time the manga finishes hopefully the 3rd season will be announced and in production. Buy them blu-ray discs people!

Whew transformed the 19 back to fighter from battroid mode. This figure sure likes to fight with you before everything lines up. Transforming the Arcadia 19 is more fun, but Bandai's looks a bit better. Good effort from Bandai.
