Got my new upper today and attached it to my AR. It sure does look a lot different now that it finally has the parts that were meant to be on it. Thank God the AWB sunset. I will post some before and after pictures later. -

I've ordered it, but I have not got it yet because I am waiting for the remastered Gunbuster set and the first volume of Aim for the Top 2! to be released which I have on pre-order with CD Japan. When I get it, I will let you know what it's like. I will also post images from the book and the DVD. Now I have to order those one coin figures too... I will be one broke mo-fo for Christmas this year. -

No word on what the new box will look like with the set. The DVD slip covers do appear to be the same though, with some minor changes. How much is the R2 boxset? (Too lazy to search around ) Around $90 to $120 US dollars, depending on where you order them. Not cheap, but will definitely be worth it. -

Yes, they did change the sound effect of the krayt dragon's call Obi-wan used to scare off the Tusken Raiders. -

I have rewatched my version of ANH to be sure, and mine has that very line of dialogue in it. I checked both 2.0 Dolby stereo and the 5.1 tracks, and they are the same. -

Here you go. This is taken directly from episode 6. Sorry it took me so long to post this up for you. This is from one of the smaller ships in the fleet, not from the Eltreum. -

Yes, Jango was way more intimidating than his cloned offspring. He even killed a Jedi if I recall correctly, before he lost his head. How could Boba even live up to his father? -

Okay, I am veering off course on this topic when I say this, but where did you get such atrocious writing skills? Even with a message at the bottom of your post stating that you have edited it, I can still barely understand what you are trying to say. As for fencing, yes, it is true that fencing was part of the routine in the way the lightsaber battles were carried out; this much is given during the special Empire of Dreams. But Lucas also wanted there to be a direct Japanese influence involved, which is why you have two different styles of sword fighting. And Japanese swordplay is not the same as fencing. As for Vader throwing his lightsaber and it twirls because it has a high center of gravity, how is that so? The beam is focused energy, and to my knowledge light doesn't have weight to it (I could be wrong on this, because I am not a physicist). It is purported that in order to throw a lightsaber accurately, you have to have some skill in using the Force to a reasonable degree, and Vader has that in spades. (This last statement is given to the fact that the Jedi Knight games use this scenario, and I am taking this to be canon as the games are released by Lucas Arts). As for Darth Maul's style of fighting, Ray Park (the actor who portrays him) is a martial arts expert trained in Wu Shu and other forms of fighting. I think he would know where and how to use his legs when taking up a defensive stance. My bitchfest has ended. Back to your regularly scheduled thread... -

They sure are at that! On a little side note, my newly refurbished upper for my AR will be coming in on Monday or Tuesday. I'll try to get a few before and after pictures posted. As for the M4 version I wanted, I think I'll wait until tax time. It was cheaper to just get the gunsmithing done to it instead of buying new parts. I'll finally be able to make those bayonet charges like I always wanted to! -

I noticed that also. Empire is my favorite of the lot and the only part of the trilogy which I felt Lucas did not fully screw up like he did the other 2 movies. Save for that line of dialogue near the end where Vader asks for his shuttle. Damn, since it has been confirmed that James Earl Jones will be doing the voice of vader in Episode 3, you'd think Lucas would pay the man a few bucks to redo that line. I never saw the special editions at the theatre save for A New Hope, and was not aware of the line change until I watched the DVD today. It got me a little wired, but I just shrugged it off. As for the DVD problems, I have watched the whole set, and have concluded that there's nothing wrong with mine other than the music dropping out during the first half of the Death Star battle. And that was checking it in all modes. Everything else is fine. -

I can verify that you are not having problems with your player. I'm having the same problem. There is also problems with not hearing the soundtrack in the background, especially in the Death Star battle. You can barely hear the music at all, and that is with it being set on all ranges. And all those purple flashes when something explodes is getting to be really annoying. What the hell is up with that? -
No, I doubt that. It played fine on my old cards, and when I updated to new cards so that I could play Doom 3, it still did the same thing. Don't really care much anymore to give a rat's azz, but it bugged me at first.

Nah, I'll keep her. She bought my complete Macross series on DVD for my birthday last year, and also bought my pre-painted Noriko Takaya figure a few months back. She is even taking me to see the new Ghost in the Shell film for my birthday this year, which incidentally opens in Greenbelt, Maryland on October 8th. So, she does like anime, but just hates Eva. It's a love/hate thing for a lot of fans you know. I also broke down and bought the box and first volume on Saturday. Haven't watched it though, but will get to it when I have the complete series.

Great! Another Quake game to play. I've had problems playing Quake 2 on my Dell since I uploaded SP1 for Windows XP a few years back. Everytime I run or fell into the water, the game would lock up. Maybe I just need a new computer...

Well, I have an abridged timeline which I never posted on my site dedicated to the original series, but I would have to say that the new series will fall into place sometime after the Galactic Core Attack Fleet returns to Earth, which was in the year 2245, a full 197 years after the start of Operation Calnedius. Lord only knows how far advanced mankind became during that time. I do know that within the timeline human rights were granted to whales and porpoises in this year and esper abilities of humans were becoming more common. It could be that is where the storyline is heading, and how they may link it with the original. If you recall in episode 6 that there were porpoises on the bridge of the Eltreum. Take a look at the image below. This is conception art from the original series. And Noriko and Kazumi got back to Earth on July 26, 14,292, some 12,244 years after mission's end. -

Hey, thanks! I'll check out his site. As for the grenade rounds, yeah, I knew that you had to fill out the damned form for each round you purchased. Kind of sucks. However, I didn't think the shot shells for the M203 fell under that since they are pretty much like any other shotgun shell. Then again, that makes sense, and we are talking about a government agency here. What are your opinions on the old Sten gun? I saw one earlier today, and have never seen one up close outside of TV or a video game (Ex: Wolfenstein, Call of Duty.) They look like a moron could operate the damned thing, it looks so plain and abstract. I saw the thing when I was playing around with an old H&K 93 rifle. The Sten was also full auto and looked brand new. Didn't get a price though. -

I said a lot stronger word than that when I saw this. And damn, the girl is kind of skanky looking. Nothing will ever top the original show's costumes. Even though they were more fan service than practical, at least they looked a hell of a lot better on the girls. These look like someone was doing LSD or crack. -

I may do just that. However, Bushmaster still hasn't updated their site well enough to get everything on it. They still have lowers listed with that godawful fixed telestock. I can get the 16" carbine barrel with the birdcage suppressor, but it doesn't have the bayonet lug. And the barrel is not a M4 type. I may want to get that Class III license and buy the M203. Hell, at about $1000 for a round of HE, I think it'll be worth it for a wonderful 4th of July celebration. (I know I probably can't get HE rounds, but ya gotta love those 40mm shotgun shells.) All in all, I know I have to stick with the 16" barrel length set by the BATF, but I want the M4 barrel because it looks 'cool'. And I want it to just piss my neighbors off. And I may take you up on the offer of helping me build my AR. I know a little about stripping my rifle like every good grunt does, but I was not an armorer, and I have fumbly fingers. -

Well, it's official. My Bushie is off to the factory to have those evil cosmetic extras added onto it. We'll wait to see how much this is going to cost me in the end run. When I get it back I'll take pictures so you can 'ooh' and 'ahh' over the evil features. As for the M4, I will hold off for a few months. It seems that Bushmaster, who is the only AR manufacturer selling complete remodeled rifles right now, only has an M4 with a brake still attached to the barrel instead of an actual flash suppressor. Dammit, I want that flash suppressor. -

You know, while I was in On Target (gun store and shooting range in Maryland) during my lunch break looking around, I just happened to ask the owner a few questions regarding regulations, and he told me that the state police and sometimes even the feds will come and ask them about certain codes or what kind of a gun or rifle they have found. Seems like the gun shop owners know more about the laws than the guys who are supposed to enforce them.
