  1. Well, at least he is not dressed up as a Sailor Scout. I have seen that before and it ain't a pretty sight.
  2. Having only seen the first episode, which I liked very much, I can now get all of them and watch them in a row without having to wait for the next part. Thanks for the excellent reviews.
  3. mmmmm... Minmay's panties... Sorry, lost my train of thought. At least he is not known as the "daughter of defeat" like me. But hey, it's a Gunbuster thing.
  4. Hey! I have that shirt! Now, if I wasn't such a fat ass I could wear it to the movie and piss all the little Jedi off. (Wonders: Can I lose a gazillion pounds by May?) Edit: From the image it does look like Annie lost both of his legs in the big fight. (I didn't bother to read anything, as I would like to find out myself, thank you very much.)
  5. I LOVE THIS PLACE!
  6. If you have not seen the two missing science lessons which were released on the anniversary laser disc boxed set, click on the link provided below to watch the entire five minute QuickTime movie. Sorry about the size and quality, but I'm still modem impaired due to where I live and I don't have all year to upload a 80 gig file. If you have problems opening, just right click and save the target as to your computer. Enjoy! http://toponeraegunbuster.com/science_lessons.mov
  7. There are three mini films on the remastered DVD set which are about a minute in length. The first one looks kind of like a training video used to recruit pilots for the Okinawa School, but since I cannot understand Japanese without the subtitles I can't tell you what they're saying. The second film could have been inserted as deleted combat footage from episode four, just prior to Noriko launching in the Gunbuster. The third film deals with Jung's involvement in the development of the Sizzler. They show her piloting the mecha and the various weapons it has.
  8. Oh yeah! New images have been uploaded to my site that you may wish to see! Let me know how you like them. http://www.toponeraegunbuster.com/Gunbuster-MiniFilm1.html http://www.toponeraegunbuster.com/Gunbuster-MiniFilm2.html http://www.toponeraegunbuster.com/Gunbuster-MiniFilm3.html
  9. Update From the Anime News Network: Okay, so the pitchforks and torches are being put away for the time being.
  10. Thanks for understanding what I was getting at. However: Yes, it is the same old song and dance story as usual regarding this subject as it has been brought up before, but given the massive influx of puritanical feelings the American government has had of late because of what happened with the Janet Jackson boob flying out of nowhere debacle, it is cause to worry because every Tom, Dick and Harry is worried now because of what goes out on television or radio. Now we have a government agency locking up a man (albeit a creep who deserves it), for life because he downloaded some possible hentai pictures of Asuka and Shinji having a tentacle sexcapade. All I am saying is that we need to keep an eye on the political as well as moral ramifications of what may occur in the future. I'm done with this.
  11. General news from the Anime News Network: Well, I'm not going to condone what this maniac did, but the idea comes to mind as to what will happen to a lot of the anime we watch. I am not a fan of hentai, but some of the anime we watch which isn't does happen to involve characters which are below the age of 18. If indeed some law was passed which we do not know about, that could potentially make anyone out there who owns a Macross DVD guilty of kiddy porn because of Minmay's shower scene. So, I know I am being Chicken Little here crying the sky is falling, but I wonder if there will be any repurcussions in the industry here which distribute anime in this country. Could the road to anime censorship finally be coming back? I did not want to start something political, but I did want to share this story with you out there. Feel free to alleviate my paranoid fears.
  12. Don't care for it much either. And Call of Duty looked better visually.
  13. Yeah it is all black and white, and there is no animation over the ending credits. Sorry, but that is all that there is. After all, this is not how the last episode was intended to be shown. IMO, I like the cropped version better, because it gives the final episode a sense of scope and magnitude which helps establish the entire series as an epic story.
  14. Give a link please that works.
  15. It's K-Y Personal Lubricant.
  16. Hypocrite. Just my two cents worth.
  17. You guys can use your pitchforks and torches. I'll use my AT4 rocket launcher and some grenades. Goodbye troll.
  18. *SPOILER ALERT!!!* The new diner frequented by Obi-Wan and the other Jedi right before their downfall. Now you know why it was so easy for Anakin and the clone troopers to kill them off. They were too full of beef!
  19. Yeah, this thing has been on sale for a little while on Yahoo Japan. Cool kit, but me thinks the pose is kinda too much.,
  20. Then you obviously haven't seen Palpatine's equally nasty and disgusting fingernails. They look as if he could fling them at you to cause a fatality.
  21. The story goes that the staff named it after the Sizzler steak houses. The official word on that is there was a coffee shop near Gainax which was named "Sizzler", but the naming of the mecha was totally unrelated to it. The American connection which would imply that the mecha was named off of the franchized steak houses is false. The name was given to the mecha from a toy minicar made by Mattel which featured a flashing light on top of it.
  22. The mecha used by the pilots in episode six. It is the mass produced Gunbuster, only way smaller. See the pic. Edit: By the way, here's a little trivia. See if you can answer this. The head of the Sizzler is based off of the head of a monster seen in the original and remade versions of this movie starring a giant turtle. Can you name the monster?
  23. Yep, and you can also pick up and bang hookers, then kick them out of your custom ride and run them over to get your money back.
  24. To be honest with you, I do not know if these were made for this release or if they were produced for one of the video games in the past. If someone knows, please share the info. The animation, especially for the mini movie featuring the creation of the Sizzler, looks to be CGI. There are 3 mini movies, and they run for a toal of about 90 seconds each. The first movie shows a small competition between RX-7 Machine Weapons at the Okinawa School, and the third movie shows Jung's involvement in the development of the Sizzler. God, I really hope to hell that this DVD set is professionally translated here in North America as Gainax really went out of their way to make this show look good. But with the way things are looking I may as well be spitting into the wind...
