  1. Looking for some pretty decent software for copying protected discs as well as wiping out that pesky region coding? Go to: http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-fab-platinum.htm. I've been using this program for a while now to back up my DVD's and it works pretty well. You can download a 30 trial to evaluate, but after that, it costs you $60.00 to get the key. And out of the hundred or so DVD's I have copied, I've only had two which didn't work. And it also does dual layer.
  2. I've seen small bits and pieces of the film over the years, but a buddy of mine who is into body building got the remastered movie on DVD for his birthday and I borrowed it from him to watch. I cannot believe how huge this guy was.
  3. It does kind of resemble something used in an old Doctor Who serial, doesn't it?
  4. Just saw Pumping Iron. What a great movie!
  5. To those of you out there who pointed out to me that Robotech has been seen in other countries, "D'uh!" As if I didn't already know. But there are a crapload of countries out there who have not seen Robotech, and would wonder why is the UN using characters from Macross and calling it Robotech. The UN as it stands now is an impotent entity, and it should be closed down, or at least, moved back to Brussels where the Eurocrats can pontificate all they want as to how racist the US is and how the US pisses on everyone and should be stopped. "Wahhh!" What the hell have you been smoking?
  6. Hey, sorry, but the Shadow Chronicles thread doesn't mention the UN add in its title and I did not feel like reading the damned thing. Sue me. Better yet, take the thread down.
  7. Just read this on ANN website about five minutes ago and it makes me mad. As if Harmony Gold doesn't feel arrogant enough at keeping consumers from buying Macross related goods in the US, they are now trying to push their twisted form of anime down the throats of others in foreign countries. The first thought which comes to mind when someone familiar with Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada shows on TV is "What is this Robotech, and why are they calling (add title) Robotech?" Just one more reason Harmony Gold needs to get flushed down the toilet.
  8. Definitely. It's a little-known fact that the first AC unit in recorded history was installed by Jesus in Mary and Joseph's house. Yeah, and I'm the poor schlub who had to work on it when the compressor shorted to ground.
  9. Too rich for my tastes.
  10. What? This image didn't give it away?
  11. They've been discontinued, but J-List still has them for sale. http://www.jlist.com/SEARCH/battlestar%20galactica/1/
  12. Great moments in STAR WARS done in MS Paint!
  13. I pretty much use Winamp to play my media files. It's free and I've made my own skins for it so I like the way it looks.
  14. SOUTHERN Israel....duh. D'oh! Now why didn't I figure that one out?!
  15. No, you are wrong about this. Jar Jar is not the Rosetta Stone. He may have come first in the order of things, but Lucas' pinnacle to appeal to the kiddies is when he made a bunch of teddy bears overthrow the mightiest military force in the galaxy. The friggin' Ewoks sucked. And Jedi would have been a better film if it weren't for them. Going by your scale, ROTJ should be below AOTC in my opinion, just because of Ewoks. As for Revenge, I am hoping beyond all hope this movie will rock. I also agree with Graham; I've gotten to like the first two prequels more with repeated viewings on TV and DVD. WTF are you talking about? Portman is not a southerner, as she was born in Israel and raised in New York.
  16. I think I will dedicate a separate page for images from the open matte, that way you can get a before and after kind of effect. That may work, since both are official now, and I've already included images from the mini films.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. I don't see an error. There are some points in the open matte episode that do show where the animators stopped painting the cel, but I do not see that here. And this shot is so emotionally charged, I think the full image would look better also.
  18. Haven't seen it yet, but am looking forward to one of these days. As for the U.N.I.T organization being brought into play, it is not impossible. Alastair Lethbridge-Stewart may be too old to come out of retirement, but if you recall the story "Battlefield", U.N.I.T.'s new commander was Winifred Bamberra.
  19. Hey! I want your opinion, guys! Now that I have these awesome remastered DVD's, and have cracked their copy protection, region coding, and burned them to dual layer discs to make them friendly for my home DVD player, I've been doing some thinking lately about removing the images I have on my site and replacing them with the remastered images. Which comes to my dilemma. I'm thinking of using the open matted images from the extras disc for my episode 6 page. I like the fact that there is more background to the image, but I am partial to the 'letterboxed' look of the original episode. I'm wanting to keep the overall number of images on each page the same size so they are uniform, which is why I'm leaning toward using the open matte. And yes, I know I have been putting my little seal on these images lately, but if I am going to make new ones, I sure don't want some lazy slacker using them on his site. Let me know what you think by looking at the image below.
  20. Reportedly, Terry Nation's estate is still behind the renewal of the Blake's 7 series, but it is also widely known that Paul Darrow (Avon), who was to reprise his role, has backed down from the project stating differences of opinion on how his character was to be handled. So, if there is no Avon, the show will suck. Maybe.
  21. Here ya go, more Aayla, but it's a AOTC publicity picture. Amy Allen sure makes a good looking green skinned woman.
  22. Hey, they're in the military, having fun blowing crap up and shooting Jedi. Sure that may seem like enough fun, but then they get liberty call and slide right on in to the next sleazy port on the conquest tour to get a piece of strange. The thought of a green skinned beauty saying, "Hey Clone Trooper, wanna date?" comes to mind.
  23. Chuck Zito kicked Van Damme's ass. 'Nuff said.
  24. Don't forget Martin O'Malley (?) would put a "Believe" sticker on them too.
