Survey: Ten Worst Comic Book/Superhero Movies
Noriko Takaya replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Here is my list of 10 BAD movies according to your list in no particular order. Mind you, these movies I picked I have actually seen. A lot of these others seemed so "Meh!" that I didn't watch them. Here they are: Popeye Tank Girl Howard the Duck Superman III Superman IV: The Quest For Peace The Punisher (Dolph Lundgren's lame impersonation. I actually liked the new one.) The Phantom Daredevil Supergirl Elektra -

Great, I'm a pedophile according to the Canadian police because I like Star Trek. What next? I'm into bestiality because I like anime?

Gunbuster TV? What's that? I was not aware that Gunbuster had a television series, other than the made up version. Are you refering to the OAV? And don't lie to me, I know everything Gunbuster. -
That is friggin' awesome!

The Official Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread
Noriko Takaya replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm digging up even more dirt on Manga's loss of the Gunbuster license. It seems that John Sirabella of Media Blasters stated that the company had looked into acquiring the rights to sell Gunbuster in North America after Manga lost the license. MB was unable to secure the rights because they discovered that another company obtained the license to release a R1 DVD release. At this point, Sirabella states that while they know who now holds the license, they will not tell who it is. So, I guess this is good news and all, but who is the new licensee? And are they waiting for Top 2 to finish it's run before starting a DVD release? Hopefully, whoever has it will use the remasters to make a newly translated product with extras and such. I will be attending Otakon in Baltimore this year so hopefully I can dig something up from one of these guys there. -

You can kind of blame me for starting rumors over there and on a number of anime related boards. I was spouting off about this a while ago, even before the Media Blasters rep began blabbing. I was basically jumping the gun because I began to figure something was up when Manga revamped thier site and the merge with Anchor Bay hit. -

Guess what? I just got an e-mail from a Shayna MacLeod at Anchor Bay Entertainment. She informed me that Anchor Bay did buy all of Manga's titles, and Gunbuster was not among them in the catalogue. She also states that this is probably due to the license expiring before the merge. So the truth comes out. Manga has been lying all these years. They never had any intentions of releasing Gunbuster. -

Some news for you guys out there which isn't very interesting, but I figured I'd share it. Since Manga is reluctant to answer e-mails about Gunbuster, I've gone over their heads and asked someone over at Anchor Bay Entertainment, who holds all of Manga's licenses. So I will be waiting to hear from them, if they even want to reply. Who knows, maybe I will get a promising answer. Still trying to fight the good fight for those of you Gunbuster fans out there, this is your pal, Noriko Takaya, signing off. -
I'd rather see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe instead. The trailer was stupid.

Just saw Episode III tonight and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked this film and may go see it again. That's my input.

I've never had any problem with the rifle grip. I must have one of those pair of hands which fit it well... -

Here I go dragging out the old thread once again. Got my new toy today. See picture below. I know some of you out there love the evil black rifle, so I'll let you know I am going to start customizing soon. First things I am going to get are the replacement M4 type handguards and a combat sling. I kind of have my eye on this one: http://www.quanticoarms.com/graphics/items/200ODERB.jpg. Then I'll be looking for some kind of optics system, which is why I got the A3 configuration. I can shoot just fine with the old iron sights, but I want to come into the 21st century, so I'm thinking about this one: http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/products1.cfm?PartID=481, but at the price of these things I am considering one of the cheaper EOTech models, preferably the model 552: http://www.quanticoarms.com/asp/itemDetail...=96&CMSN=Optics. Another thing I would like to change is the flash suppressor. I just did not realize how cheezy the Bushmaster Izzy type was because I never saw one close up. I'll probably see if I can get the welded pin removed from the barrel and just use one of the aftermarket Phantom flash compensators. Any further tips and suggestions would be appreciated. I would really like to soup this baby up. -

I'm assuming he uses the katakana because it's used on the show's credits when it aired in Japan. You would be surprised how many American shows have Japanese titles. I think it fits his reviews rather well, considering this is a forum brought about by a Japanese animated series.

Nah, Melissa Joan Hart has a lazy eye, you know, where one lid halfway closes when you are taking pictures and such. The person who has it is not even aware of it. Now Shannon Doherty, one of her eyes is lower on her head than the other. It is really obvious if you have seen some of her work in the early days of Maxim. It will definitely freak you out.

It looks like an updated version of their previously released figure. Except for the leg movement. Almost the same pose with the arms crossed too, but more attitude is reflected in the gesture. I wonder what the weapons pack will be? -
I always liked combat on the 2600 better than pong. Should I point out that "Pong" isn't available on the Atari? Just Video Olympics. And personally, I say Warlords is the best. Particularly if you get 3 friends crowded around the console. Dude, I still have my original Atari system from back in the late 70's. Pong was the first game made for it. No, it wasn't. The pack-in for the original 1977 "heavy sixer" decks was Combat, as it was with all VCS/2600s until PacMan replaced it in 1983. And you will NEVER find a cartridge called simply "Pong." The closest you will get is a TeleGames cart labelled "Pong Sports," which is the Sears-branded version of "Video Olympics." You ARE half-right, however. Pong is present in Pong Sports, and PS/VO was one of the original nine games available at launch. I'm getting my consoles mixed up. I have the stand alone deck which played only pong. My goof. I stand corrected.

No, it lingers.

I'm still playing my old Atari 2600. Why do I need another system? Nothing beats a game of Pong...
