Just found out that Comet Miniatures in England has some War of the Worlds models for sale, and on of them is the 1953 design. Sweet! I'm gonna get one of these. Click the URL http://www.comet-miniatures.com/browse.php...eg=176&zone=11& to go there.

Ya know what? I'll just wait for a couple of years before I even try to buy one of these things. Then they'll be cheaper than dirt and the bugs will have been worked out of them.

Here's a copy of the artwork used on the DVD. Mind you, it is in the right direction.

Yeah, I knew Yamada's mom was Matilda. I was hinting at it from a different angle. I also find it kind of funny that one of the reasons Yamada's sister hates him so much is because of his fanaticism with anime, and here is their mom, a voice actress.

I thought the eye thing was an obscure reference to Evangelion, but then remembered that it was Adam or whatever it was that was in Gendo's palm. I finished the "Another ending" episode the other night when I wrote my last post and liked it, but I kinda hoped we would see Yamada's sister hook up with the other otaku friend of his. And that scene where Yamada's friends are re-enacting his confession while reading it online is disturbing, especially the climax. Ugh! Matilda!!! (Made me think his mom was that character's seiyuu.)

Best (new) Anime Series You´ve seen lately
Noriko Takaya replied to Aegis!'s topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Only thing new I have watched lately is GITS SAC 2nd GIG. The last thing I watched before that was the second and third episodes of Top O Nerae! 2, and even though I still dislike the show, it has its moments. My final thoughts on this show will be made known when episode 6 is released. -
Just finished watching this series today and I have to say that I liked it quite a bit. I can also honestly say that Misaki Ito's character was so sweet and innocent that by the end of the show I was in love with her myself. I also liked Miho Shiraishi's character Misuzu and how sleazy she is. I found it funny that while she was physically repulsed by Yamada she was willing to have sex with him later on. However, Eriko Sato, who I found to be a babe in the live action Cutey Honey, did not do it for me in this show. Over all, good stuff and highly recommended.

Orginial Mina the Moon Rabbit Girl video from 1983
Noriko Takaya replied to ogami's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I managed find a copy of the DAICON Film Reissue DVD which is being sold on Gainax's site. The copy I found was a used DVD being auctioned off on Yahoo Japan. The seller stated that the animations to DAICON III and IV were on there as well as the Ultraman and monster stuff, so we'll see if it is when I get it. It should be here tomorrow or Saturday. If it does contain the opening animations to the conventions, and if they are better in quality than what is floating around, I'll let you guys know. If not, then I spent $30.00 for nothing. -
Well, I just finished watching all of season one and I have to say that I did enjoy it very much. Although it did have its cheesy parts, a lot of it is pretty gruesome for its day and quite dark. It is a shame the producers of this show took it in a different direction and f'ed it all up. All in all, if you were a fan of the series when it originally aired, I'd recommend buying this series. One note of complaint: After the opening music was finished, there was an introduction which featured a Martian hand reaching over to grasp the Earth, followed by a line from that week's episode. They removed the hand, but left the quote. I felt that was unnecessary, as it signified what Earth was up against to some degree with the aliens trying gain control. And have you noticed that all the episode titles are Biblical references?

I'd rather have a model of the 1953 movie version. Anyone know where to get that?

The Official Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread
Noriko Takaya replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I have $600.00 and will probably buy this thing. But then again, maybe not. However, since I am such an obsessed Gunbuster fanatic, I just may get it. -
Maki Horikita. She's 17, but yes, she is cute. I just started to watch this show tonight and have finished the first two episodes, and I'm finding that I like it a lot. My god, if you cannot see yourself in there at least once, there is something wrong with you.

Yeah, I downloaded the series primarily because I am a huge fan of Miho Yoshioka. Miho used to be second behind Akane Soma, but Akane has dropped off the face of the earth. But alas, Miho only played a minor role. I didn't know Misaki Ito was in it until I started watching and realized, "Hey, that's the babe that was in that movie Ju-on." Now she is number 2. Methinks we ought to come up with an "Ultimate Japanese Idol, Race Queen, Actress, Model" thread.

Here ya go Matrix heads....
Noriko Takaya replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
One man's take on how the Matrix should have ended. -
Yes, she is. She will be mine. I already have her 2006 calendar adorning my wall in my room. I wonder what she would think if she had an obsessed gaijin following her around? Probably kick me in the nuts she would. God, my girlfriend hates my fascination for Japanese women, even though her father is half Japanese.

Robocop remake? Say it ain't So!
Noriko Takaya replied to eugimon's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This sucks! Hollywood needs to stop doing this. However, the only way they will is if the blind sheep who go to see these movies just keep doing that. Seeing the movies. -
Just bought a copy of Quake 4 because I had nothing to do, and found the game to almost be a carbon copy of Doom 3. Anyone else out there playing this? Since I have not seen a single post about it since its release almost a month ago, I figure probably not. Aside from a few things here and there I liked, I found the game to be rather monotonous. However, it may just be me, as I find myself not wanting to game anymore. Arguments? Opinions?

Thanks for the link. I'm gonna get my Vader saber converted.

I knew he was Nightcrawler. I was probably thinking of that guy from Romy and Michelle's high school reunion. 343734 Yeah, he was in that too.
-
Really? Who the hell was I thinking of? 343699 That Allen guy also played Boris in the 007 film GoldenEye, as well as Nightcrawler.

Pee Wee Herman was played by Paul Ruebens, chucklehead.
