Okay, here are some stills from the film. Get ready to gag.

I liked the voice from the games too, but the chick who owns it isn't that hot.

Uwe Boll made this shit, and Majesco is probably thinking they are going to get lots more fans for the game. God, this is one movie I am not going to see. Even if it were free, and I don't care how goddamned good looking Kristana Loken is.

Carl Macek front and center!

Hey, I like the girls with guns thing. Nothing turns me on more than seeing a chick wielding a 12 gauge like she owns the place.

Bandai Visual Usa's New Label
Noriko Takaya replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This is good news indeed. Could it be possible that there may be a future release of Aim for the Top! from Bandai's Emotion label here in the US? Hopefully there will be another release of Honneamise, as I never bought the Manga version. With the release of the logo anything is possible. -

Living in the People's Republic of Maryland I can tell you that there are plenty of women interested in the shooting sports where I live. However, it seems the closer you get to cities like Annapolis and Rockville and Columbia the attitude changes and the gun grabbing mentality takes over. -

Akibado's shopping services...
Noriko Takaya replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, I guess better late than never on an answer, eh? I had decided long ago when I never got a meaningful reply to this thread not to use Akibado's services and stuck with Celga. Although, Celga will not buy things for you direct from Japanese shops like Akibado will. Maybe I'll try that other one listed above. -

I actually think that the people who own the actual properties have seen what a mess some of the titles Manga released have become (Dangaioh for one example). It could be that what was once a promising anime distribution company is now going into the toilet. Admit it, there have been times when one or all of us have been pissed off at something they did. -

Sorry to bust your chops, Duke, but it has been officially confirmed by Manga's parent company Anchor Bay Entertainment that they no longer hold the license. Someone over at the Anime News Network was able to confirm it. -

Hey, the weapons thread is back! Well, let me start off by saying that I am now expanding my collection to include anti-tank weapons. Here is a couple of shots of my newest addition, the AT4 rocket launcher: -

I was trying to be funny using the Cygnus as the Megaroad. Here ya go on the model: http://cgi.ebay.com/MPC-Disney-Black-Hole-...1QQcmdZViewItem -
I'd say yeah, if it were subtitled properly. That's just me though. I'd like to have the official limited version box set with the extras, but I do not have $200 to spend on it with Christmas coming up and all.

I have half of the series on VHS. Never bothered to complete it when the format to DVD changed. Glad to hear the whole series will be released soon. I will definitely be getting it.

The Official Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread

Maybe a Diebuster reference? All of the mecha in the original series had hatches of one sort or another to gain entry. There was never any teleportation device. -
What Happened To Misa Hayase And 'rick'?

Photographic proof they went right into the black hole. And they did come out the other side. -
Yeah, that problem had been brought up on numerous occassions during the show, and it was decided that because of the trauma of the war and the countless lives lost, a form of mass amnesia took hold of the populace. Suzanne's uncle, the army general who is in charge of the project stated that he was a lieutenant in 1953 and saw an unbelievable amount of action, but for the life of him could not remember where. Then there were others, like the old timers in one of the early episodes, who remembered fighting one of the machines back in the 30's when the aliens were attempting a recon of Earth. That was covered up by the government by fabricating the Orson Wells "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast.

From the ANN: ADV Films had managed to get half of the funds needed to make the live action Evangelion movie. Fortune magazine published what appears to be a rather good article which you can read here: http://www.fortune.com/fortune/print/0,15935,1134596,00.html. The article interviews ADV CEO John Ledford, looks at the manner in which ADV chooses titles to license and how it promotes them, discusses the anime industry as a whole and the symbiotic relationship between fansubbers and the industry, and many other subjects.

Trailer For Dead Or Alive The Movie
Noriko Takaya replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've got two words for you: UWE BOLL. Nah, just kidding. Even though this looks bad, I think Boll could make it worse. This movie should have been given to a porno director. Then we would have Oscar material. All we need now is for A7 to come up with a list of actresses. -
Spoiler Alert! If you want to know the answer to the Drake question, just highlight. At the end of the first episode for season 2, the new aliens known as the Morthren have exterminated the original aliens and are now plotting their take over. They want to gain access to the Cottage, so they kidnap Colonel Ironhorse and clone him. Using the clone, the Morthren manage to infiltrate the Cottage. Drake is killed by the clone before the real Ironhorse can stop him, but in a bid to save the lives of his other friends, Ironhorse kills himself therefore destroying the clone. And there you have it. Edit: Strictly speaking of course, the first episode of the new season is also the last time I watched the show as it disenfranchised me to see that Paramount thought more about its pocketbook than what the fans thought. Which is why season two tanked and the series was cancelled. And why I also stopped watching Star Trek.
-
Ah, but Drake was not your token minority character, but an actual main component to the series.
-
The actor who played Drake in the series was named Philip Akin. Dyson from T2 was played by Joe Morton.
-
Yeah, neither do I.
