  1. Hey Jeremy, should I break out the shotgun for some good old fashioned skeet shootin'?
  2. I just finished watching GitS2.0 and I have to say that while I found the updated version kind of neat to look at, I still prefer the original. I'm in agreement with a few on this thread; they should have left well enough alone.
  3. Like I said above, got my copy from Amazon on Saturday. Today I get home from work and there is another box containing the blu-ray set. With the same order number and everything at no extra charge. I'm keeping it as a spare. Their loss, my gain.
  4. Yeah, I may be sick, but at least I'm honest.
  5. Got my copy on Saturday from Amazon for $31.00, and that's because I had a gift certificate issued as a rewards bonus for the credit card I have through them.
  6. Somebody wants to make little old Noriko mad. Asking for a dub on Gunbuster is akin to blasphemy in these parts.
  7. Loved it! Henson's company did a good job with the animatronics. I'm just sorry I never caught the series when it was making its original run on television. Now that Sony owns the rights, I'll probably buy it when it comes out on Bluray. By the way, best anime this year was Macross Frontier. Gurren Lagann came in second.
  8. Can I say best of the year for me is finally getting to watch the entire Farscape series from beginning to end? Never saw it until now. I've been locked up in a cave.
  9. Well, recently I have downloaded all of the studio albums released by Ayumi Hamasaki. Never really having listened to her music, I'm kind of liking it. Maybe I'll try Utada next. Other than that, I'm listening to crap like Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, 80's hair metal bands, whatever...
  10. Americans? We never get the uber cool stuff our counterparts in Japan do.
  11. Speaking of the Gainax front page art that has been around for the past few years, if anyone would like a complete collection of the fan art from both Gunbuster and Diebuster, let me know. I have all of them that are present up to now. I DO NOT HAVE EVERY FRONT PAGE IMAGE. JUST THE GUNBUSTER AND DIEBUSTER IMAGES.
  12. Ah, I've had things to do, people to see, places to go. I just finished it last night. Pretty pleased with it. Not the greatest story ever, but a hell of a lot better than some of the other crap coming out today.
  13. FINALLY!! Gainax has released a new Gunbuster image on their site's front page. I blurred out the obvious nipple shot, but if you want the unedited image go to http://www.gainax.co.jp/.
  14. Watching Macross Frontier. On episode 10 right now.
  15. I'm sure Gunbuster will be released on Blu-ray, but probably not in the states. Since HonnĂȘamise merged with Bandai Entertainment, the original OAV has fallen off the radar. The only version of Gunbuster available to the North American market is the DVD version released by Bandai Visual, which is now sadly out of print. I did pick up a spare volume just in the off chance my old ones broke. And chances are there may be another release, but after all the bitching done over the music editing on the first episode, I wonder...
  16. And if going by the Gunbuster model they put out a few years back, it'll be so fragile you'll never be able to take it out of the box. $800 for a toy which will break like a twig if you so much as twist a limb in the wrong direction, ugh!
  17. You cannot be more wrong here. I do a lot of HVACR service work in Annapolis, MD and a lot of those people are rich as hell. And they are usually the worst ones when it comes to arguing about prices. How do you think they stay rich? In my experience, middle to lower income people will haggle with you less than a person who is loaded.
  18. Well, winter is coming and I heat my home with fuel oil. I won't be buying any toys, guns, DVD's, etc for quite a while.
  19. I'm probably one of the few on this board who can say they first saw Macross while it was making it's original run on Japanese television in the early 80's. I was stationed in Japan in 1983 while in the Marine Corps.
  20. Yes. I got so sick of hearing "My Boyfriend Is A Pilot" I was ready to gouge out my eardrums with a pencil.
  21. 5 of us. Don't really care for the songs though.
  22. Anyone notice in the photo behind that guy is a mural of Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada characters? Must be a Robocrap fan.
  23. She's got a bit of a cameltoe also!
  24. God, I love this movie. And I am old enough to have seen it in a movie theater when it originally came out.
