  1. Oh no, it was the catastrophe which befell Earth when Captain William "Buck" Rogers took off in his space shuttle thingy. (Notice how I am tying two shows created by Glen Larson together?)
  2. God, that sucks. I prefer the English version, and I usually don't.
  3. Not Japanese, but funny nonetheless.
  4. Hey, I started that thread! Boy have things changed. I went from hating the show to loving it. Now when I watch the original, I cringe at the cheesiness. So much for being a 'purist'.
  5. All I have to say about tonight's episode is: "Holy Frak!!"
  6. Obscure, as in here in the US. Thing was, if you wanted to watch this show, you had to look for crappy VHS rips where the quality was horrible.
  7. Yes, I was talking about the US release of the series. I knew the DVD came out last year in the UK, but I'm not going to bother importing a R2, PAL format set that I cannot watch. And don't get me going on region free players, as I am not buying one.
  8. For those of us who are fans of this obscure anime title from the 80's, word is that the series is to be released on April 7 of this year. I'm pretty excited about this, as I have not seen this show since it aired on Nickelodeon in the late 80's. And being a fan of old school anime, this will be a real treat.
  9. Doesn't matter to those fans living in North, Central, and South America as we share the same region as Japan when it comes to blu-ray.
  10. Currently started watching the blu-ray Freedom box set. Okay so far, but I love the Nissin noodle product placement.
  11. Glad I'm not the only old fogey here. Astro Boy, Marine Boy, Gigantor, and Speed Racer were all staples of my childhood in the late 60's.
  12. We already have a thread devoted to weapons, whether real or sci-fi. You can see it here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...pons&st=600 And technology debates go here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=11693
  13. I can't post mine. They were all recalled because of the lead scare.
  14. Yeah, what they said.
  15. The first 9 minutes of the new movie. http://toponeraegunbuster.com/media/GitS2point0.avi
  16. There are a few references to Gunbuster in Nadia. Two ancient Atlantean battleships discovered beneath the sea are named the Eletrium and Excelion. There is also a Macross reference as Captain Nemo in this anime resembles Bruno J. Global, while wearing a uniform similar to that of Juzo Okita of Space Battleship Yamato. Nadia's music was scored by Shiro Sagisu, who also scored Evangelion. Keep with it. This series is great.
  17. Not exactly Japanese engrish, but just as odd to say the least. I want to ride this bus to work. And I wonder what kind of perverted idiot lined up that decal just right.
  18. There are subs.
  19. Pirate Bay has a torrent that has the blu-ray rip in mkv format. This is the version I downloaded and it looks really sharp. Resolution is 1280 x 720.
  20. Sorry, 5 million GitS clips on YouTube, and mine is the one they shut down. Give me time, I'll get you a preview.
  21. Okay, here is a video of the first 9 minutes of the film, which contains quite a bit of reworking. Be patient. The file is large, but in HD. Also, give the video time to process if it says so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6Ffzb_hffU
  22. I'm in the process of uploading a HD clip from the blu-ray release of the film. No subtitles though, and file size is a whopping 519MB. Click on the high resolution tab to see it in HD. I'll post the link as soon as I can. Edit: Taking more time than I thought. I may have to upload a smaller file.
  23. Saw this on ANN today. Link: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-...eld-in-february
