The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya Thread
Noriko Takaya replied to JValk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Meant to start last night, then fell asleep. Was going to do it again, but got caught up with something else. I may have to postpone the series viewing until things slow down at work. I'm a heating and air conditioning mechanic by trade and with the way the weather has been lately here in the central eastern United States what with blizzards and all which we do not usually get, I have been a very busy beaver at work. Lots of overtime which leaves me feeling exhausted. I will get a post to you guys eventually, so don't fret. -

Okay, I've decided to see what all the fuss is about. I got the first season and am going to start watching this tonight. -
What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Noriko Takaya replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Will do. Haven't actually watched them because I got involved with Planetes first, but I will check Netflix and see if they have the series. I'd really hate to buy a complete series and then end up not liking it. -
What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

Hell no. I know nothing about this show. Just saw that someone put full versions of the DVD's in iso format on Demonoid. Figured I'd watch them. If they interest me enough, I'll do some background on the series. -
What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Noriko Takaya replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I just started watching the first 2 episodes of Higurashi no Naku Koroni Rei. It's something different from what I usually watch. -
Oh, and if you want that Michael Bradley song, here it is: Michael Bradley - "Look Up! The Sky is Falling"

Oh I'm definitely toast. I live near quite a few military targets. Washington DC for one, and there's a Naval base along with the Academy in Annapolis. Then there's the Pentagon. But I would have had foreknowledge, and planned for this event. Got a fifty-fifty chance of survival. Since I'm typing this, I survived. Come in Grand Cannon...

I wonder, since we did win that battle at such a huge price, shoule we say that today is V-S1 Day? You know, like V-E Day was victory in Europe at the end of WW2. Victory in Space War 1 Day.

By the way, I wasn't being derogatory about the Robotech song; it's actually one of the fw songs I like from Robotech. I just felt that it was kind of fitting for what was going to happen today in the Macross timeline. If you think about it, the sky literally did fall down what with all of the energy bolts from the Bodolza fleet and all the junk and exploded debris from the battle. Would have made life interesting for those on the ground who survived looking up at all that carnage. Althopugh there was plenty of that to go around on the surface too.

No, just Sarah made it. The rest of the family booked to the Amazon.
-
Yeah, it's an odd choice of words using a Robotech song in a Macross thread, but today is the day Space War 1 ends, and we all know how that went. So, in mourning for those of us here on Earth who were vaporized in the heavy bombardment by Bodolza's fleet and those of us remaining to pick up the pieces, here's to better times ahead. And keep your eyes to the sky.

Super Dub Fortress Macross on Hulu
Noriko Takaya replied to Funkenstein's topic in Movies and TV Series
Hey, aren't we all supposed to be dead now anyways? Wasn't February 11, 2010 the day Bodolza's fleet blasts Earth from orbit? -
Revoltech in the snow! Blizzard aftermath of February 2010! If anyone wants a ri-rez of this let me know.

BEST Science Fiction film of all time!
Noriko Takaya replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Battle Beyond the Stars rules! I'd love to fly around the galaxy in a spaceship with huge titties. -
Yeah, I just scrounged around to find some stuff by BoA. Sings in Korean, Japanese and English. Been on a J-Pop kick also. Just finished listening to all of Maaya Sakamoto's studio albums.

BEST Science Fiction film of all time!
Noriko Takaya replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Michael Crichton's "The Andromeda Strain". Not that new piece of crap from 2008. I'm talking about the 1971 film here. It very closely followed the book. Bit of trivia here: Neon Genesis Evangelion uses the computer readout "601" in green letters on a black screen to depict the same unreadable data error that is encountered in The Andromeda Strain. This occurs in several episodes, most notably in episode 5 Rei I. In addition, there are two other concrete references to The Andromeda Strain in the series. First, the layout of Central Dogma is a near carbon-copy of Wildfire. Second, episode 13 Lilliputian Hitcher features an Angel which behaves much like Andromeda - a small crystalline life-form which attacks the seals and vents in Central Dogma, infecting the installation and threatening to trigger its self-destruct sequence. -

Thought I'd add a few pics of my crappy BloodRayne figure I got a while back ago. It was made by Martian Factory which is now defunct. Painting was horribly done, but it is kind of decent and you'll never find another statue like this one.

Just when you thought Evangelion may be safe from the hands of Hollywood, or whatever, this news surfaces: Here's the link: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-...ct-still-active

I like a lot of video games, but one I have played time and again to this day comes to mind and I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. This game is the reason why I still own my Nintendo 64. Turok: Seeds of Evil I just wish there really were a weapon called the Cerebral Bore. There are a few people I'd like to try it on.
-
Oh yeah, I managed to snag one of these. I should have it by the end of next week. I'm stoked! I love Yoko! I'll take a pic of it when I get it.
-
Oh, here are better images of that figure.

I like this. I like it so much that I pre-ordered it.
