  1. I have never transformed the toy, and everything is tight, but that huge gunpod still rests on surfaces when the landing gear is fully deployed.
  2. In case no one has already mentioned it, just be aware that while in plane mode the gun stowed doesn't have any clearance when the landing gear are deployed. The gun just sits on the ground. A minor quibble.
  3. Aargh! My toy is in San Francisco and it's a holiday. Just 800 more miles to go.
  4. I would be all over a renewal of this series' toys. VF-0 and SV-51 were my introduction to collecting Macross toys.
  5. So, for the folks that were awake in the wee hours of the morning to place preorders...when did the items shows up on websites? Are we talking 2am PST? Or give/take a couple of hours? If I can narrow it down to within an hour it helps. At the moment I do not have a day job and may try for an RVF-25 order from these retailers (if I can time it right). Hey, I like a good challenge. And, I think we are days away from preorders on this toy.
  6. So, given that most pre-orders start around 2am in the morning (on the West Coast), and last maybe five minutes, how does a person manage to be in the right place at the right time to place an order? I'm curious as to how the bulk buyers manage to purchase everything before anyone wakes up. Any insight...
  7. What shipping did you choose?
  8. Finally...my order has shipped from NY. Over $50 for shipping and it took five days just to leave Japan. Is this typical, or is this particular company just slow? I would think that shipping that costs this much would effect exceptional speed/service and hence repeated business.
  9. it's up to 31,000 now. Don't blink.
  10. When was the preorder open? It must have been overnight.
  11. Holy crap! I bit the bullet and ordered the last one listed on NY. $388 shipped?? This toy better be greater than the Rapture.
  12. Anyone can join the club. Just start buying toys. Like they say...you can't take it with you.
  13. Wow, preorder is still up. Has been for more than five minutes. This must be a record.
  14. Holy crap, I managed to place a pre-order. Btw, did anyone notice they raised the prices of both the VF-171 and the YF-29 by $20. Gouge, gouge, gouge!
  15. Just out of curiosity, when did you place that order? I have been checking the site pretty frequently and have yet to see HLJ relist this item. I think you got lucky.
  16. I have not yet received any payment requests. I have been able to place orders for a Cavaliers (currently listed as Backordered) and a VF-1S (currently listed as Discontinued). At this point it'll be short of a miracle if HLJ manages to fill both orders. I placed the order for the VF-1S in the short window when they allowed orders a couple of weeks ago. I get the impression I'm in a waitlist holding pattern in case they get a few more toys. Btw, what was the price you reserved your Cavaliers for?
  17. A question for any else who managed to place an order when HLJ listed the toy a second time, then closed it again...what are the chances we will ever see those orders completed? Also, why would HLJ take additional orders if they didn't have the stock available?
  18. Wow, the engineering for this toy just blows my mind. In fighter mode it looks too sleek/slim to allow for transformable legs and arms. Still, they managed to neatly encase those slim thighs in the main body. Also, diecast everywhere!
  19. Wow, tis the season for miracles. I was able to order one O_o
  20. Another purple-tinted canopy? Why is the line being changed after the first two re-issues?
  21. Does anyone know if the markings on the toy in the pics are Tampo printed, or just stickers that need applying? On another point, I love how this toy looks in fighter mode. The head completely blends in with the main fuselage. And the design lines are gorgeous and free of gaps.
  22. I received that email as well. The page is currently active. It still appears as sold out.
  23. It's not Double Nuts, but at this price more like triple nuts. I'd really love to get one, but am going to have to wait for a better price before I can bite. $400 is a lot of dough for a toy that (admittedly) looks great, but not "OMG I have to have it!"
  24. There are many items on Amazon seriously overpriced. It doesn't mean they will ever sell. But, if you have the only one for sale, people will take notice.
  25. Uh, I woke up a couple of hours ago. Guess I missed the -- two-minute -- purchasing window. I'm curious as to how people know when an item is going to be listed for preorder. Do you just keep watching sites after the announcement? Anyway, congratulations to the six people who managed pre-orders.
