I'm interested to see the A-10 robot mode. The A-10 from Go-bots was always a favorite of mine even though he had turbines for arms. I'm also looking forward to see Grimlock and Swoop in either of their real modes. The 'pile of plastic' mode shown just doesn't do it for me

I like that the GBP is an armor option for the existing valks. I also like knowing that the underlying valkyrie can turn into a jet. Also, I prefer the more realistic proportions of a transformable toy over anime magic.
-
It was stated a long time ago that the battroid mode would be about the same size as the M+ VF-11.

Very nice. This is at the top of my want list!

Sorry, I don't have a picture of the foam. It is a 2mm thick foam rubber sheet (approx. 9"x12"). One of the brand names is Foamies. I got mine for $0.33 in the Wal-Mart craft section.

Here's a picture of the armor on my Hikaru -1A. I modified the shoulder pods to fit directly onto the original shoulders. Here's a close-up of the mod. I attached a couple of layers of craft foam to the back of the shoulder knotch using double stick tape. Also, here's a picture of the 1/60 hands compared to the 1/48 hands. The 1/60 is actually larger (on the left)!

NEW(ER) AVP (Aliens versus Predator) Trailer.
VF-1Guy replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've never seen anything by this director - and I don't see any reason to start now. The music in a trailer is often not the same music that is in the movie. Often the music score is not ready by the time the trailer is released. I have read numerous cases of music from other (older) movies being used in a trailer. Also, there's a heavy operatic theme (sorry, I'm bad with classical and don't know the name) that is often used in trailers for dark or imposing movies. You know - it's that one that does da da da da duh da da da da duh -
vf-1guy said he was able to put it on his vf-1a that is yellowing has valk exchange got his in yet??? I had no problem putting it on my Hikaru 1A (the very first 1/60 to come out). I would imagine that if it fits the first 1A and the super 1J, then it probably fits all the single seaters.

Got my Armored Parts today. Intrestingly, I didn't see any mention of GBP as I quickly looked over the box and instructions. I put the armor on my VF-1A Hikaru to hide the extensive yellowing. I'm really happy with it. Looks like I need to use the nail polish trick on the hip joint. I also think I'm going to modify the shoulder missile pods to fit over the actual shoulders. It seems that the only purpose of the slip-over shoulder is to position the pods up and out from the body a little. I can live when them lower and closer so that I can see the real shoulder. Also, the hands are just silly. I'd love to see what Yamato could do with a 1/48 GBP!

Superman is the only interpretation by Lee that I like in the Hush series. I especially dislike his take on Batman (ears too short and the glove blades look silly) and Joker (too demonic). The Turner Batman looks much better.

I wonder if this will affect the distribution of the Batman figures? The first wave was distributed in the US by Diamond. I don't really expect this to affect Macross (which is why I put it in this forum.)

Reprinted from Raving Toy Mania... June 2004 - Toycom has announced that they are changing their name: Exciting changes are happening at Toycom... or should we say YAMATO USA. That's right, Toycom is now YAMATO USA! How better to identify ourselves as a leading provider of Japanese pop culture in the form of high-quality, collectible figures then to take on the name of the birthplace of culture in Japan, the Yamato Peninsula. As the first major event under our new banner, we invite you to come see our fresh, new look as YAMATO USA at the San Diego Comic Con. We will have a preview of our upcoming product, exclusive Comic Con merchandise, and a special guest appearance by manga artist Kia Asamiya (Dark Angel, Silent Mobius, Uncanny X-Men, Batman: Child of Dreams).

Wohoo, I've been checking daily for this post! I preordered the armor-only set. I have to admit that the boxed combo set looks really nice! Very nice presentation.

Here's mine. There's more pictures of my collection at the link in my .sig.

I think I'll wait a year to see if a perfect transformation version is announced. If not, I'm sure I'll have no problem picking one of these up on Ebay at that time.

Which toy have you own or know as being the most

Ride Armor gets my vote too. -
I was worried about this too, until I saw it posted on the front page of the Yamato website and shown at the recent hobby show. This implies to me that it is coming soon.

The stand they are using for the VB-6 is a basic doll stand. It is the type that has a wide v-shaped upper section that can telescope. The same type of stand is used in the VF-0 picture shown earlier in this thread.
-
Wow, the VB-6 is huge! Time to think about rearranging my shelves (again).

I just noticed something about the GPB-1 in the background. There is a small gap between the shoulder piece and the shoulder armor. This makes me wonder about the theory that the GPB piece completely covers the original shoulder. I wonder if this explains the delay?

These look like the same sets currently available at Target. The glasses are plastic (or should they be called plastics) and the figures are recycled. There is a Maul and Ben Kenobi out now. The three shown on the Yamato site are up next.

Wohoo, a poll I can vote in. I was excluded from two of the other recent polls since I don't own the product. How old is your brother? Is it looking for something to display or to fiddle with? Is he more into cars or jets? I picked BT since he already has a couple and presumably likes them. The 3 1/60s are not a bad idea since that is enough to be called a collection. A 1/48 is good for a Macross fan, but may be a bit pricey for a robot fan. The Kill Bill figures are a waste of plastic in my opinion.
