Does anyone have any experience using waterslide decals from Hasegawa or Wave injection kits on their Yamato 1/48 Valkyries? I know the scale is different but it seems like there are several different sizes of key markings (like skulls and that UN Spacy"kite" insignia) so I was wondering if anyone had had any success using, for example, the largest skull decal from a 1/72 kit to replace the smallest skull on the Yamato 1/48 sticker sheet. Does this make sense? There are tons and tons of decals available for 1/48 military aircraft so the generic markings anre't a problem. It's the Macross specific markings that are a real pain because I don't think there were ever any VF-1 kits produced in 1/60 or 1/48 scale (am I wrong?). Anyway, my quest for decent decals for my 1/48 Valks continues so any input is welcome!

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie to the forum, though I've been reading for years. Hopefully this isn't too dumb a question... Anyway, I recently started a new collection of Yamato Valkyries and I, like everyone else it seems, am pretty bummed on the decals that come with the Yamato Valks. When I started my first collection (tragically lost in an ugly breakup) the Anasazi37 and Takatoys decals were readily available. Apparently this is no longer the case. So my question is: are there any other options at this point? I'm not looking for super hardcore accuracy because I'm definitely going to be using these like toys (that's right, taking them out of the box, transforming them, and whooshing them around the room when the girlfriend isn't looking) rather than models purely for display, but the Yamato decals seem to have pretty wimpy adhesive and are on very thick paper. I'm looking for something that'll last a little longer and be lower profile so as to avoid snagging them during transformation. On that note, has anyone had any experience with using a decal sealant on the Yamato decals? My local modeling store suggested but the product they carry only talks about use with waterslides. Anyway, if anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it. I'd be willing to buy sets of Takatoys or Anasazi37 decals as well, if anyone still has any. Thanks!
