  1. Here's the translation from his interview in the Instruction Book: * Has there been a lot of changes from the early designs? "This time I have supervised MP-3 Starscream's as a continuation from Hybrid Style 02 Convoy. When I was looking at the Starscream prototype that Takara Tomy had made, they told me, "We don't mind if you make significant changes," so this was an opportunity to put forward various proposals. Kawamori Interview translated so from reading that interview, i'm pretty sure his involvement started with this [attachmentid=37343]
  2. I like what Deckard did with moving parts to different spots, but I didn't want to make that much modification nor copy his placement exactly. What annoyed me was how the bottom of the wings were just flat in robot mode, so.... I popped the front part of the conformal tanks off the intakes and put them back on the wings for robot mode, which makes it a little similar to the pre Froating head Prototype. Me likes the pointy ends [attachmentid=37342]
  3. smaller pic of fortress mode with stand [attachmentid=37327] and the other pic with kanji [attachmentid=37328] 240mm is about 9.5 inches damn, too bad it's not 1/3000 like the old Taka (tapping foot waiting for the Alpha Counter from Yamato)
  4. Just picked on up over the weekend and for those wondering, it DOES have a black head laser

    Graham's Sig

hehehehe...I hope that's not the case, cuz if it was we'd have way too much to collect. The 1/48 Valk, the 1/60, and then... the 1/72 Valk Nano and the 1/144 Valk Shuffle
  6. Yeah, the tampo printing rocks! If they were stickers or decals, I don't think I would have had the patience to put on that many tiny "no step" signs. hey, found another Skywarp repaint on Tokyo Hunter's site (btw, has anyone used his toy finding service?) 7. Went and picked one up today at Frank and Sons. First off, Props to TomyTakara for going all out on the tampo printing. I counted at LEAST 86 tampo printed markings, which is pretty fracking awesome (hint hint Yamato). I don't remember it being mentioned before, but I think it was absolutely badass to Tampo print his tech spec quote "Conquest is made of the ashes of one's enemies" with a silhouette of his Cybertronian Pyramid jet form. Yes, I previously stated that I preferred the pre-Kawamori prototype, but having it in hand now, I'm over it. I don't mind the colors at all and the conformal kibble doesn't bother me that much anymore. I might nix the ball joints like Deckard did also, cuz I'm leaving the hip kibble off anyway. It's not perfect though. I read about the stress marks Wolfx posted on page 11, tried to take precaution by being careful as F@CK, but still got them after Step 7. His left thumb wasn't missing like Binary Falcon's, but it's super loose along with his right foot and left horizontal stabilizer. AND, I have two new issues I don't think I've read about on this thread: 1. Red Paint got scraped off the hinge joints when opening the Cluster Bomb Gimmick on his chest 2. The Tampo Printed Decepticon logo on the sides of the cockpit got scraped up when sliding his upper torso down. All in all though, I think he looks pretty badass and I give em an 8/10.
  8. So did anyone in the L.A. area go and see it this past thursday? I was going to check it out for the hell of it, but the day before the screening tickets sold out
  9. Tonights Season Premier of Southpark is about WOW there's a preview of it here: Southpark WOW
  10. I liked the Pre-Kawamori version better also (except I thought the feet were weird on that one too), but there's nothing we can do about it except look at pictures of what could have been. When I get mine i'm gonna see if there's anything that can be easily done to remove the conformal tank stuff [attachmentid=37038] [attachmentid=37039]
  11. wolfx, I think it was that Starscream had a gray face while Skywarp and Thundercracker had silver/light gray [attachmentid=37035] [attachmentid=37036]
  12. found a pic of the stickersheet... Love the insignias, especially the G1 Boxart silhouette, The Kremzeek and the nice nod to when he possessed Waspinator in Beast Wars
  13. not my pic, found it on Toysdaily
  14. Despite Masterpiece Starscream being a departure from his cartoon colors, the wing stripes are one of the few things similar to the show. the SS on the left is the reissue in the original toy color and the one on the right is the Collection 9 reissue which was cartoon style [attachmentid=37020]
  15. Due next year, directed by Zack Snyder who did the Dawn of the Dead remake 300 Promo Trailer I dig the trailer, but I hope the music is temp. Modern music in a period piece is weird to me
  16. In the Transformers Super Thread 3, there was discussion of whether or not they would make a Masterpiece Megatron. I would personally love to see Takara engineer a transformation scheme for Megs as an H&K Socom
  17. Oh man this is great, LOL. Someone on the toysdaily board had some fun with swapping heads on the Minmay & Hikaru photo frame with some Sota Street Fighter figs
  18. Johnny 5 is Alive!
  19. from what I've read Feng Zhu did the mech designs. I guess he's formerly of ILM and recently did designs for the Island. For you VFX heads, I guess he teaches at Gnomon also. Feng Zhu Design
  20. not mine (from a post on Toysdaily)
  21. Kakizaki 1A box
  22. well in case anyone was living under a rock while the forums were down
  23. supposedly images of prime, don't know how legit they are
  24. "Thus, since the fuselage and wingroots are sloped, the wings have to be sloped as well or it can't transform"? Are you talking about the toy not being able to transform, or real world physics on a real world plane if the YF-19 did exist. David, while I can appreciate your passion for aviation, especially in the model forums, I'm getting a little frustrated seeing your daily "not accurate" manifestoes in my favorite Toy and Transformers threads. The 19 is a transforming toy. It's not a Radio Controlled airplane. It doesn't really need to fly. Please ease up a little bit on being an armchair Mech and Toy designer.
  25. they added a 2nd review to the link I posted this one's a worse review than the 1st scroll down for 2nd review
