Who's your favorite Star Trek Captain?
Anubis replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Captain Sisko was the man. Kirk is 2nd on my list. -
Another Providence: Excellent Hope we get a funnel vs funnel fight between Rey and Neo somehow. That would rock.

Here are the End of Eva figures. I still don't really like the Asuka figure that much, but I got this set for Lilith-Rei and Shinji anyway. Those two are pretty nice. When the Gothic Asuka comes out I'll probably put the Asuka from this set away.
-
Got pics of that Rei you speak of? She's in the center of my Eva shelf, couple pics up. The camo Asuka is kind of tempting, but after the Gothic Lolita Asuka I think I'm done. That'll bring me to: Sega Plug Suit Rei/Asuka Grimrock ver. Swimsuit Rei/Asuka (put away) Misato uniform statue Manga Vol. 7 Xmas figures Asuka Summer Casual Asuka Gothic Lolita Rei Party Dress Statue Sega End of Eva figure Set a few Gashapons left in a storage box. That should about cover me for Eva stuff, though I do need a Chogokin Eva 00 Yellow still.

I am really surprized the movie studios are pouncing on this one. Wonder how many people will double dip.

Not gonna happen. Lots of reasons why not, namely using the existing Gamecube discs in a portable would be difficult because you'd have to spin them and not scratch them when moving, it's just asking for trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo kept the cartridge format. I think you're still being premature about "rivaling" the PSP. The GBA has one of the best game libraries currently avaiilable, it'll take years to see the PSP to even get close to that thanks to the typical 'early Playstation games' syndrome it's suffering from. I mean, how long did it take the PS2 to get some decent games...? Make no mistake, I love my GBA SP. Rivaling was probably the wrong choice of word. Nintendo's new system will again be some kind of cartride most likely, I agree. You realyl don't want to use discs than can be scratched in a portable system, that's why the PSP's discs are enclosed. It may take a loooooong time for Sony to catch up, Nintendo's current hold is massive, but if Nintendo waits too long Sony will start to. There are hardly any more good GBA games coming out that I've seen. Zelda and that's about it. Sony already drummed up so much support from the 3rd parties. Sony's going to snag a huge piece of the Xmas pie this year, and all the way until then. That's a long time without any new challenger from Nintendo. I've always liked Nintendo's stuff personally. I skipped on the DS though but will look hard at the next GB. Hopefully in summer we'll see the specs for the new one, and they can work up a good campaign. I'm looking at the PSP too, and might get it eventually, but right now don't see any need to.

Why would they replace the DS? They just released it. Do you mean their GBA SP replacement? That's what I meant, the GBA SP replacement. Whatever new handheld they have on the horizon that might have a chance at rivaling the PSP. Portable Gamecube would be pretty cool. If you think about it, how much space does the systyem board take up? There's the expansion ports on the bottom, the controllers in the front, and the drive up top. If then can compress it down it could be possible.

I give u Spaceballs: The Collector's Edition
Anubis replied to bandit29's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I will happily break norm and double dip for Spaceballs. A classic. They even styled the menu after the OT DVD release. -
Nintendo's in trouble if they don't get their DS replacement out soon. If they miss Christmas they're screwed.

Andy told Murrue she could move up there too, and she didn't seem opposed to the idea. As captain of the stolen Archangel the EA would prabably have eventually knocked on her door after signing the treaty, alias or not. So it would have been in her interest to go to plant. Orb gave the EA the Minerva as a gift, the EA could later have given a list of people they wanted to see to Orb as well, and there wouldn't be much Orb could go except cough them up. At a minimum, assuming Murrue declined, 3 people were going to get out of there. Kira, Lacus, Andy. When I said Kira and co. I meant those 3 plus Murrue. It wouldn't have been safe for Athrun there either.

Hobbyfan has a resin kit, but I don't think it was from Kotubikiya. This Asuka will go good with the party dress Rei Statue I got a while ago though.
-
If that comes with that background stand, I'll pre-order it! It has to come with the stairs. It was part of the original kit as the base, so it should be in the PVC version. The PVC version should be just like the Resin one...just in PVC.' This is the pic from Hobby Search. I don't order form there anymore, but they're useful for pics. The cool base is part of what's cool about this design.

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Anubis replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Too many damn RX-78's IMO too. Now this is their what, 3rd RX-78-2 GFF figure (Full Armor, G-Armor, ver. KA) ? The Ultimate operation line has a bunch of them, which I can't fathom. They're up to set 10, and I think at least 5 of them have had an RX-78-2 version. For 5 figures in each set, there are a wealth of designs they could use instead. I love those little figures, they're a little smaller than HCM Pro (1/220?) but are super well painted and look cool. Good sculpts too. No leg posability, but the arms and head genrally move. Ones that look like they would be horribly off balance somehow stay balanced just fine too which is great. Now I think I'm thinking about picking up a MSiA Qubeley. I want a good white Qubeley but don't want to build another model, and that's about the only option. Anyone have that MSiA? Is that one worth it? I decided againt the EMSiA Gouf. I see no need to replace the MG Gouf I have. -
I vote for Dark Helmet. Denzel Washington was a pretty good bad guy in Training Day. He pulled off the role quite well I thought.

yes, and thats supposed to be a secret. Was.

Vader might just be able to to move faster than he did in the OT, just he didn't need to. He should be able to move at least as quick as Grievous if anything, since it was the same guys working on both of them. Who did he fight in the OT: Obi-wan rematch - from the onset Vader chided Obi-wan with "your powers are weak old man." Vader didn't have a need to go all out on Obi-wan. Luke round 1: He didn't really want to kill Luke, more get him riled up if anything, and try to turn him. Luke round 2: Vader could have been holding back (even if subconsciusly), since he didn't really want to kill his son, and dispite his "there is no conflict" there was very much indeed conflict. None of these fights really required Vader to go all out. Despite no Force Lightning, nothing else of Vader's abilities should have dimmed at all, if anything gotten better, as his control of the force contonued to grow. I doubt young Anakin, even ep. 3 dark side Anakin could have force choked an Admiral several ships away. That means Vader's skill improved over the years.

I think that's one of this show's themes. No one really has learned their lesson from last time, so everyone is ending up fighting again, and everything could have been avoided if everyone really wanted to. The war could have been avoided to begin with, but it happened, and now will start to spiral more out of control if it goes on too long. Since it's been secret groups stirring things along (there are people in both EA and Zaft to blame) it could get a lot worse really fast. Even Kira hasn't really learned his lesson. Athrun didn't either. Athrun is on the Minerva because he thinks they need him there (which they probably do to no small extent), but he is basically a Zaft soldier. He didn't rush to tell Kira and Cagalli "I'm in Faith so I can do whatever I want" he simply said "I rejoined Zaft." Kira and the AA crew on the other hand actually thought they could get in the middle or a battle and stop the battle from occurring, just because it was Orb. They're going to try it again too. If you don't learn from your past mistakes, you're doomed to repeat them, and more people are going to die as a result. Only thing I don't get yet is: If Dullindal is the bad guy, he has to know Athrun will come eventually and make trouble with the shiny Gundam he gave to Athrun. He came to confront his own father last time. If Dullindal was the bad guy why did he give Athrun the gundam? He could have given Athrun an audience, told him everything was fine, if you want to move back up here with Lacus, Kira, and co. then go ahead, even provide passage, and send Athrun on his merry way back to tell everyone the good news and ferry them out of there quick. Kira and co., even Murrue, were going to move to Plant before the assassination attempt. They could have killed Lacus much easier on Plant, and sealed off Freedom in it's dock if removing her was the goal. Or just destroy the transport shuttle. Of course this could also mean Dullindal didn't pick as efficient of a sneaky plan as he could have. Overly complex plot writers. Good or evil, Dullindal is still one of the coolest characters in this show.

I got the End of Eva figures in last week, not bad, I'll take a picture later. More upcoming Eva figures: Sega's really making use of their license, aren't they? Though I wish they would give Shinji a chance. Only one figure so far, in the EoE set. At least give the guy a plug suit figure to finish off the pilot trio. July - Version 2 School Swimsuit figures (white)
