I just noticed: On the back of the figure box, it says "Next Stage --- 2004 February" Answers that question at least.

I think a Kakizaki 1A is coming. The stickers for him are on the 1/48 sticker sheets even. They are juut being careful not to release too many A's within the same timeframe. Maybe around Feb/March would be my guess. All speculation on my part. I still want my CF though.

The movie has potential. If they do it right. It's still way too down the line to say anything for sure. Anything for a long time to come will be nothing but conjecture. It has potential to be quite good, and as large a franachise as Eva is it would be crazy for them to really screw it up. It could go either way, but I will reserve all judgment until I see something concrete from the production team. Or see the movie itself. It is still in pre-production, so it is a ways off still.

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.

I got real lucky with my 1/48 Roy. I got the beauty mark. One tailfin skull is slightly crooked. Very little though at least. The canopy isn't exactly loose, but it is problematic to close. It is in permanent battroid, so the previous two don't make any real difference. The one I don't get get is that on the chestplate along the edge of the black stripe are scuff marks/scratches on the white. ??? This one I don't get. I also have a scuff mark on the left wing by the UN Spacy emblem. The scuffs are not generally noticable. But hold the valk up in bright light and you can see the marks. Any one else got the scuff marks? I love the valk, but the scuffs kind of put a slight damper on the experience. -
I'll wait and see how the MPC's turn out. If they disappoint then I will get a superposable or two. But so far they seem good.

This month has been expensive enough. After all that spendage, another chunky monkey isn't as tempting as it once was. Especialy after all the cool crap we got this month.
-
I still stand by my guess of Roy, Misa, Myung, Sara, and Basara for series 2. With Gubaba as the chase.
-
The shipping alone is what nixed it for me. If I am going to spend 30 bucks, I would rather put that towards an Elintseeker, or the second set of Fast Packs I need for my Roy 1/48 once it arrives. But maybe there's someone who still likes chuncky monkeys ........................ -insert sound of crickets- or buy one for your kid of you haven't already, so he/she can be indoctrinated into Macross properly without killing one of your Yamato valks in the process.

Spoiler speculation: The N-Jammer cancellers will become a MASSIVE problem right away, since in theory Azrael could have his Gundam trio retrofitted, and the N-jammers were all that kept Earth from glassing the Plant colonies themselves with nukes. We'll see how fast they start to be utilized. This series is going to go Tomino-esque after all it seems. Kind of surprised Kira flipped like he did when he found out Fllay was in the escape pod, but also really not that surprising considering the relationship they had and how they were separated before they could sit and talk things out after that last rough spot. The emotional angst Kira is showing in regards to Fllay and that conflicting with his current feelings for Laksu is not something he needs right now if he is going to survive battle. He got his ass kicked this time once he got overwhelmed. Seed has developed into a very complex show and IMO is very well done. I look forward to seeing how it ends, and I eagerly anticipate every episode in this final countdown. Then we can all speculate on where they go for Season 2!!!!! Note: Even though they have explained that Kuruze is a clone of Mwu's father, that still does not explain how they can sense each other the way they do. Kuruze even sensed Kira approaching, newtype-like. I am very curious to see if they make a mention of Newtypes in here after all, as a couple of characters are showing some of the initial signs of it.

In case anyone is interested, HLJ has the Bandai 1/55 VF-1A CF on sale for 17.46US. Don't think I really want one, but figured I'd post in case anyone else wants another chunky monkey for pretty cheap. Link Edit: Should have titled it "VF-1A on sale at HLJ............again." They must really want to move these out of there, placing them 70% off.

I agree, an Excelsior show would also be good, too. Or at least another show in that time period has potential. Any show taking place after Voyager should have a deep space exploration/expeditionary unit going through the Gamma Quadrant. Multiple ships. At least one big cruiser, Sovereign or otherwise, couple Science vessels, and 2 Defiant-class Vessels. A different approach than usual. Maybe a Romulan ship in addition, testing thew new relationship water some. Just my opinion.

DS9 rocked. Voyager had it's moments, but just wasn't as good as the others. Enterprise has potential, though they had a lot of slow moments or rushed plots in the past. They are making changes for this season. What has been said for it sounds promising, and hopefully they can make it work this time. The addition of a Marine unit opens new avenues they can take the show. Elite Force Hazard team type stuff. The series could prove to be very good if they do it right. The older time period removes the magic "we'll reconfigure the deflector dish to do blah blah blah" crap they did so often in Voyager. Star Trek isn't dead, it just has not had new good material for a while. I have hopes for the coming Enterprise Season. If that fails then I will give up. IMO Nemesis was pretty good, but had so many dry, boring speeches and conversations it ruined it. It could have been spared half the useless crap if they got rid of the whole clone business. It wasn't necessary. A Reman bad-ass commander staging a coup would have been fine. The battles were good, but the slow parts took away from it.

My sentiments exactly. Like Gundams, there should be a common man's scale, and then the big expensive beauties. I have never bought a Perfect Grade Gundam, but I do have Several MG kits, and a few HGUC's. It's good business sense to have different lines, so every one can buy at least something. Same thing with Yamato. We're gobbling up the 1/48's now because in reality they kick ass. I have no intention of buying the entire line in 1/48 though. I have bought 2, and might get one more, depending on how the CF turns out, but that's it. Space and cost wise it makes more sense for me to buy a high quality smaller scale. Especially with all the stuff to come later. Next year will be expensive enough just buying 1/72's. I will be keeping my 1/60 FP Hikaru 1J, and CF. The first time I saw the price of a 1/48 I said no f%$#*&* way. The cost/performance ratio of the 1/60's was better at the time for me. Since them I have caved and bought two anyway, but a high quality smaller scale will generally catch my eye first when shopping, since I can fit more of them on my shelves, easier on the wallet.

Didn't Yamato let it slip in that forcast a while back that 1/72 VF-0 would be perfect transformation? No re-tooling of the 1/60 valks. We put too much money in it already. Much more so for some people than me. If anything use the leesons learned from the 1/48 and such when designing the next valks they release, which they seem to be doing anyway. For when they were initially designed the 1/60's were well done, and we were all in joy for them for the most part like we are now for the 1/48's. They were good, nicely detailed, and reasonably priced. The Elint and Super O came out pretty good even, though I admit I have yet to buy either. I still wouldn't mind seeing a Hikaru Strike for the finale of the line. Maybe for the 30th anniversary someone will come out with Perfect Transformation 1/60's, and some of us might upgrade then for some of the valks we don't buy in 1/48.

Definately the best AU series to date. Look forward to seeing the end. The end is shaping up to be a rough one, and it's hard to predict how things are going to turn out. Keeps me glued.

Got mine in today finally, and sure enough I got two of each of the five, one clear, one reg. EXACTLY in order in the box. Here's what the box looked like: REAR OF BOX Hikaru Reg ---------------- Hikaru Clear Minmei Reg ---------------- Minmei Clear Mylene Reg ---------------- Mylene Clear Ishtar Reg ------------------ Ishtar Clear Mao Reg --------------------- Mao Clear FRONT OF BOX Kind of funny, looks like the chases were the only things breaking up the order after all, either that or my luck is very, very wierd. On the plus, I got each one I wanted, minus the Minmei Doll I'll put up the ones I don't want in the for sale forum in a couple of days. I do like the quality of the figures. Some of the heads may be a little floppy, but the detail is excellent for the price, each one looks pretty much spot on IMO, and they are pretty decent size. I hope series 2 turns out this well. Wonder what the chase might be in that one? Gubaba maybe?

Never mind, my question about the "beauty mark" has been answered in another thread. -

How do you fix the pimple on the 1/48 VF-1S head? I have a Roy shipped, and I want to be prepared if it has it. Do you sand it, use an exacto knife, or what? How big is the pimple generally anyway? -
Just my little odd story idea while we speculate: If we go to a 2051+ show, I would like to see a new Zentradi group show up, go through the whole culture thing, and have them tagging along with whatever colony fleet or whatever. And then while everyone is still adapting to each other, have the Supervision Army show up, with a few actual Protoculture running things there. Could be interesing. This would allow for the Supervision Army to be hooked up with whatever those couple of Protoculture designed for them, more advanced than the standard fare. We'll never know where the full race of Protoculture went. They are like a lost civilization or one of those old races in Babylon 5 that left this Galaxy long ago. But there could be a few individual holdouts, pulling strings still for amuzement. And we could have mass VF-19's and at least a few VB-6's. Also, this would also allow for one hell of a fleet battle.
-
Was Britai's ship part of the Megaroad 1 fleet? We already saw Exedol again, and I wouldn't mind seeing him again either. But if he was with the Megaroad fleet then he's out too.
-
We've never seen properly used VF-4's though, so it will be the first time they will have been fully animated. We have never seen them transform on screen even. Just a few seconds in fighter in FB 2012. The VF-9 could also be used. Something from the 2020's/2030's range could have a lot of potential.

I would enjoy a good follow up for Escaflowne. Though the original did get it just right, IMO.

Does anyone have a copy of "the holy floating head" pic of Shoji Kawamori? I haven't seen it yet.
-
I have only seen the first episode of Macross 7 Dynamite, and it looked like the M7 fleet was rebuilding Battle 7. Was that the case, or what? Just curious.

Somebody posted a picture of an etherial head of Shoji Kawamori smiting the forces of darkness and evil (in other words, HG ). Ever since, we've called Kawamori-sensei "the holy floating head" or in a slightly un-PC pronounciation, "the hoary froating head." Anybody got a copy of that picture still? That would be great to see.
