CF *clap clap clap* CF *clap clap clap* Also, a 1/60 YF-19 would be fine with me, and about as big as I can justify putting on my shelf. One corner a big 1/48 VF-1S Strike, the other a big 1/60 YF-19.

Since they went to the trouble to make the armor from scratch, I'm pretty sure personally that they will release it both ways, to make it as profitable a venture as possible. It might even help sell more of the older 1A's. A 1A Max w/ armor and 2 gunpods might be interesting, John Woo style on a display stand (if we can balance it right and the hands allow it). Even if the only release is with a 1J included, I'll still be happy. My Hikaru 1J FP will just go in Gerwalk since I don't have anyone in that mode, and stand next to the armored 1J.

Separate GBP would help make up for the no separate Fast Packs, though, at least.
-
My fav's include: UC: Gouf Zaku IIF2 Z'Gok Sazabi Gundam MK II Titans Alternates: Master Gundam Aile Strike Gundam The Sazabi wins overall, though.

hehe, chan, I can see you buying like five of these. One for every yammy valk you have and either customize or sell off the remaining valks the armor came with. That's what phatslappy did with the bandai super vf-1s valk. HEH HE you seem to know me better then I do One thing, I doubt the Armored 1J will actually be 9800 yen. Since a price probably hasn't been specified yet, they went ahead and used the price from the Supers IMO, since they had to put something down to put up the listing. I would expect the price to be a hair higher, and will be adjusted before they actually accept preorders for it. I would wager 11,000 yen for a 1J with armor as it's price as my guess, and 4800 yen if they release the armor by itself. These would fit proportionally with the current prices in that scale. I am hoping they release the armor both with and without the 1J. I already have a Hikaru 1J Super, but might consider getting another with armor. It would still be nice to have the option of just buying the armor so we could put it on a CF or 1S.

I'll take a high quality VF-11. x 2 if I can afford it.

HLJ just put a listing for an armored 1J. No info, can't pre-order or anything, but it's there, and it looks like they went ahead and just put the price at that of the Supers until more actual info, and actual pricing, comes. I wonder if the 4/2004 is tentative or the actual planned date. Edit: Added Link

I'd go with either extra gunpod ammo or just armor.

Interesting theory. Some plausability there. As much stuff as Gepelnitch was able to do, altering his host's body may have been no problem.

20th anniversary edition DYRL thoughts/wishes
Anubis replied to treatment's topic in Movies and TV Series
If they do release a special edition of DYRL, I hope it comes with English subtitles. Just to piss HG off may give them some incentive. More R2 releases are having subtitles included, so the possibility is there. Should be no different than our putting extra language tracks on R1 discs. I'd pay full import price for that no question. FB2012 included would be a nice bonus, but it would be nice to have an official DYRL disc if anything. -
I have a 1/60 Millia 1J, Escaflowne, and Prime on preorder already, so it looks like DVD's and clothes for me this year. May ask for a new DVD Player since mine is a 1999 RCA. It sometimes skips subtitles, so if I watch something subtitled I do it on my PC. A new one would be nice. Maybe a MG Z'Gok, too. No more 1/48's this year, and until a CF or new LE come out.

I subscribed to the US edition of Newtype when it came out, and I am now the time is coming where I will decide if I am going to renew it. I have found it so far to be a decent magazine, some interesting parts to it. However, I did not find it overall very useful, and I am leaning towards not renewing it myself. Some of the image spreads were nice, like the ones for Macross Zero. But with the delay between the Japanese and US releases, the news in there is often already old, and the series spotlights don't really generate anything useful most of the time. Example being the second Inu Yasha movie, I don't remember what issue. It might have been nice to know what the title meant in English, and the description did not say much useful info about it. The Eva articles pissed me off. For highlighting the article on the cover, "New revalations on the renewal projects" or something like that, the articles were useless. One almost amounted to a series of people being asked: "If Anno would let you, would you make more Eva?" "Yes." End. Oooooo. The Seed articles were not bad, but since we were already way ahead in the episodes past that point, made them kind of moot. Some of the interviews were not bad, and the model and figure highlights are nice. It's cool that it comes with a DVD sampler every month. I admit I have not watched any of them. My viewing backlog is big enough as it is. However I applaud the effort. In the end I doubt I will renew it personally. Even with its flaws I still would like to hold on to it, and it has seemed to improve a little, but for 90 bucks, probably not. I'll stick with my online sites, and maybe an Animerica subscription, as affordable as that is. I'm curious to see how useful you guys have found the magazine, and wether you will end up renewing your subscriptions.

All the robots were kung-fu fighting...
Anubis replied to Doktor Gonzo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Maybe we'll see Mobile suits or Destroids in our lifetimes after all. If we're lucky a variable. -
Just 1: a 1S.

I admit the color scheme is pretty nice, but that head... <_

I don't really have MISB syndrome, but I do keep the boxes. Too many probably. I don't know yet if I want to keep the new TRU I have coming MISB (thanks1 VF-1 2NV) or display it. It's probably going on the shelf though. Seems kind of a waste to leave alone in the box unappreciated in storage. Someday when I have space I'll get a proper display case. I am at least very cautious handling my valks, especially about oily prints. I am for the most part in the buy it to put it on display camp, especially for Valkyries, considering the price paid for them. All I have that are MISB are a bunch of spawn figures, which I'll sell the bulk of one day, and several star wars figures. I binned them up a few years ago after I graduated high school so I don't remember everything that's in there even really, or know what it's worth.

1/60 GBP at last! Wonder what the price point will be. Not that it matters. It will be mine. The Escaflowne looks pretty sweet, too. Never fear, though, the 1/48 GBP armor will surely come in due course. 1/60 for that will probably satisfy my needs though.
-
Maybe this is why the VF-1J Hikaru was not announced along with the re-issue Roy Strike, and M&M valks. VF-1J w/ GBP. Maybe there is hope for a Hikaru Strike after all. 1/60 GBP 1J? If it's true, then I'll be buying another 1/60 after all. After Millia of course. Other possibility is a hasegawa, wouldn't surprise me since they already released the fast and strike pack vf-1's.

Britai was bigger than the average Zentradi though, wasn't he? Comparable to someone 7 ft 6 in vs an average of 5 ft whatever in. It would translate to several more feet for Britai over a regular Joe Zentradi. I always thought a regular Zentradi came up to about mid chest level on a valk, so the guy in the group shot does look a little small to me, though. Given proper proportions, new 1/60 Regults and Glaugs from Yamato would be pretty huge, too by comparison. The scale of the matchbox ones always looked kind of off.
-
Are episodes 1 and 2 available anywhere?
-
Damn, I wish I bought a Low Vis.
-
So for it's only been confirmed by Yamato to be releasing the 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru without, and bundled with the TV style fast packs. No word on releasing the TV fast packs separate. For now it looks like you have to get the bundle if those are the kinds of packs you want.

I would imagine that with the animation budget of the original series, they wouldn't have bothered actually modelling the vectoring nozzles. For little details like that you usually find them in higher budget OVA's that can afford to splurge on the little details, or in new TV series that are now getting well funded. Yes, the VF-1 had thrust vectoring, just in the animation it wasn't highlighted.
