Sweet megatron statue. -
True, orbital bombardment is an option, but I was thinking in terms of keeping the cities reasonably intact, and not glassing the planet. There are surely some suport vehicles in addition to the VF's, and yes, destroids are pretty much gone in the 2040's. Who knows, maybe campaigns could be consolidated into VF's only, as long as they are able to resupply easily when needed.

Especially considering it's for Christmas, I'd say either the 1/60 or 1/48 VF-1J's. Which one depends on how much whoever is giving you the gift can afford ($80 vs $180), and how big you really want your 1J. I personally say FP-less 1/48 1J (as in the show), but you said you wanted the fast packs. The 19 won't be out until next year (early spring??), and something may happen that the Prime may be delayed until January. The others sound like decent gift deas, but I would rather get the Yammie.

Reading all the speculations and what-ifs threads lately, a thought crossed my mind. How would UN Spacy after Space War 1 conduct a ground war? I'm more curious about the Zentradi being included among us at that point. In addition to VF's making their air-to-ground runs of course, we have destroids and ground troops/vehicles to use exclusively on the ground, and VF's also making their runs in battroid/gerwalk inside a city. Now, would we include full size Zentradi among the ground force, and Regult battle pods? It worked for the Zentradi for how long, so why not use some, especially with the onhand numbers of pods left over after the war. Would full size Zentradi not be practical mixing in with regular terran forces, or would the Regult idea be cannon fodderish? I know the vast majority of Zentradi were miclonized based on everything we've seen. Even the M5 fleet was all Zentradi. But in certain situations, many have no problem reversing the process to do what they need to do, be it help with construction, or whatever the reason. I'd like to see some opinions on how a ground fight might work. There is no way it would be all VF's, right?

Yes, missiles were in the arms. But the reaction warheads were launched from the railguns, not on missiles. Damn

Just got my e mail reply, and he said he shows they shipped it! I am quite surprised. No shipping notice yet, but looks like he got my combo out to me after all. Lucky. Let's see how they are when they get here.

John Carpenter. Interesting little touch.

Roadbuster is all I can think of. Looks like stumper. Who owns the DVD anyway?

Awesome job. You're patience making those decals must be very high. I've never seen an Angel Bird Battroid before. That makes me really want an official one from Yamato. 1/48 LE for that one.

Still waiting for my bad news, ordered mine on the 21st too.. I e-mailed them this morning in addition asking for an update. <_

Right, they can only keep charging 80 for it if we keep paying 80. Granted we pay upwards of 150 for 1/48 VF-1's but look at the quality. If the Alphas prove to be worth the 80 for quality vs the MPC VF-1, then fine, I will cough up the money. If not, I'll wait for a price drop.

I actually starting to kind of like this idea. The way UN Spacy HQ was behaving towards the M7 fleet could lead you to think that they were heading in an oppresive direction anyway, and end up trying to iron hand the colonies, of which they will say bite me and go the independence route. It would be about due for the next human war by then, looking at history. The earth side could even use the new Ghost idea again as an extra ace, in addition to any other new stuff they use. And once things have gone on for a while, and everyone has showcased their new tech have a supervision army fleet show up. I would say a Zentradi fleet, but that's been done, and would lead to a lot of sound force again, and a supervision army fleet would be something nicely different. Even if the varuta cannabilized designs from them and the Megaroad 13(?) fleet, we've never seen a full on Supervision Army fleet. Start that one with another booby trap that someone trips causing them to show up. I wouldn't mind seeing a Koenig Monster transform into battroid and john woo style dump reaction missles into two ships (missles were in the arms on the monster, right? I don't remember for some reason). Sometimes it's fun to speculate.

For 80 bucks it better be perfect detail. I was hoping for 60 bucks, but oh well. If they alpha's kick ass then I'll consider one at least. The detail does seem promising, but I still think 80 is pushing it.

That's the peril of SAL. It could take a week, could take a month. There is no way to know for sure. Thta's why I don't mind using EMS if I have to order something form HLJ. Expensive, yes, but quick and it can be tracked fairly well. There is no way I would trust SAL.

We went though this in depth not long ago. Twice. Once in a normal thread, and again in a poll on which time period we wanted the next show to be. There were here on the new boards, IIRC, so it shouldn't be too hard to find them.
-
Are you referring to the small scale models? The really cheap ones (1/14 I guess) come with a Battroid and a fighter, non-transforming of course (VF-11, 17,etc.) Then there are the 1/100 scale models of the VF-19S and VF-19 Fire Valk, transformable. Then, there are the 1/65 transformable toys of the 17S and 19 Fire Valk, which is what we are talking about.
-
Um, how big are these supposed to be for $80? If they are 1/55 then can you say "ripoff."

The Adventures of Indiana Jones DVD Boxset.

The Best Buy exclusive disc has some more extras on it, not sure what exactly. Haven't gone through it yet, or opened the package yet even. No time to watch it till this weekend. Best Buy didn't have Dragonslayer in stock. -
I'm pretty sure they're exactly like the original Fire and 17S, except for the packaging and the painted on stuff Anubis mentioned. Right, they are the same just where the originals had stickers the newer ones have the details painted on. The 17 has intake stickers to put on but that's it. ' I definately recommend the VF-17 at least. The 19 maybe if you need a holdover until the new Yamato YF-19's come, or you like the red scheme.

Here are the links: $30.80 US each + shipping. VF-19 Fire Valk VF-17S These 50% off sales generally don't last too long, so act soon if you want one.
-
Buy the two that are on sale now at HLJ, IMO. The VF-17S and VF-19 Fire Valk both have pretty good detail. These "reissues" have the details painted on and are selling for very cheap right now by comparison. At least a 17 if you don't have one. The originals are kind of hard to find, and can go for 80 or so from what I've seen, especailly the VF-19S Blazer, if not more, since that one unfortunately didn't get reissued.

Actually, that is the Matrix itself, where everyone is plugged into, with the human farm in front of it.

I will keep tabs on it. I will allow a few days before the first e-mail.

This would also contribute to the 19's getting pasted at the end of M7. In space they were sweet, but couldn't hack an atmospheric attack. I have to say, thanks to this thread, my liking of the the 21/22 has grown a fair bit.
