I thought Project M was started to research exactly how Minmei's singing specifically had so much effect on the Zentradi. Hence Project M The defence mechanism idea sounds pretty good.

Anyone else notice the guy was employed by TOYCOM.

Ahem: FUGLY USELESS CANON IGNORING CRAP

It's entirely possible for the protoculture to have somebiomechanical attributes in their ships. We've never seen anything from them other than ruins so this is new territory. I will wait and see, but I don't think its a protodevlin or derivative.
-
To have them just disappear as far as earth is concerned is kind of a slap in the face. Just leaving it like that without a followup story feels like a wasted opportunity. Max and Millia have gotten tons of exposure, and now Roy kind of has his own OVA, it would only be fair to see something involving Hikaru and Misa, even Minmei since she was on the ship too. Wasn't there something about them picking up some signal and heading in that direction? I do think Kawamori blew a good series opportunity, leaving fans hanging like that. If he indeed chooses to leave it as is, then fine, but many of us will always wish he hadn't.

It was a gradual thing, that played out as they got to know each other over and their relationship matured the course of the show. There wasn't really a "ok I like him now" moment. Claudai did try to nudge her in the right directon though whenever she could for what it was worth.

They were a solid couple in the show.

My only problem is that my Roy Strike battroid is so top heavy I can't give him a creative pose, so he just stands intimidating against the wall.

I've never seen that manga, but there is enough info there to be an interesting read.

Just Started Watching Macross 7 With the GF
Anubis replied to lebhead's topic in Movies and TV Series
single huh? lol The aftermath of this topic header Just started watching M7 with my GF and now I'm A) single B) sleeping on the couch C) divorced D) out of the closet Best Post of the DAY!!! In all honesty I probably would rather watch M7 than some of the crap on tv these days. But I have far better than that to watch as well, especially to try to get someone at least interesed into anime. M7 is in no way, no how, something something you throw out there right away, unless you want your GF to go and then your evening plans go a little . -
Just Started Watching Macross 7 With the GF

If you have to hide your anime collection from your GF, then it probably is not going to last. It's a part of you, and if she can't get past that then it is doomed. My girlfriend has seen my mass of dvd's and my Gundams/valkyries, and while she thinks its a little funny, she accepts it, and is willing to give a few shows a try. She has boxes of collected barbies so she cut me some slack. I just need to figure out what to show her first to ease her in and try to get her hooked. She has said she wouldn't mind seeing something old school. She said she liked Voltron and Robotech as a kid. Thank god. So I will start her off with either DYRL or the first disc if SDF Macross TV, followed by M+. After that maybe sample disc 1 of Escaflowne or a Miyazake film. I doubt right now that M7 is her style, and there are other shows I would rather showcase for her first. Eventually I may toss in Crest of the Stars. With school and FT work we don't have a lot of time to see each other, so I am in no rush to do the anime intro. Plenty of time for that. First I need to get her to see the first matrix again, then reloaded, so I can take her to revolutions next week. -
I believe the VF-1 was the only one that suffered the no-clip problem.

You can find them subbed here. You need bittorent to download them. They are basically short animation pieces highlighting a different mobile suit. I think the 2nd came with first run of Mk II PG kits, the 4th from the 1/144 Dendrobium, I don't know specifically where the others came from. The first is of the RX-78-2 w/ footage from the original show. (The only Evolve that is not CG based) 02 is the Gundam Mk. II 03 is the God Gundam from G-Gundam 04 is the GPO3 Dendrobium 05 the Nu Gundam

I think it styled very well. The funnels worked nicely, and I liked seeing some of the stuff the Alpha could do. Less actiony than I would have expected, or would have liked to have seen, following the GPO3 Evolve 4, but not bad. The music fit very nicely, too.

What kind of equipment would UN Spacy's (Or UN Marines rather) have for the infantry troops? I'd figure they would they just be decked out starship troopers style. Support Vehicles of course, Power armor maybe, and other stuff. Maybe some remote drones.

Actually in the end credits you see him being pulled from wreckage quite alive. He kind of pulled a Gamlin, like when Gamlin was supposed to die, but didn't.

2040 was actually quite good for the first half. Then it got frigging wierd. The new liquid metal hardsuits were ok, but IMO served more of a purpose to make the girls look more scantily clad. Some plot angles went downhill and the ending pissed me off, and left me going WTF What are they supposed to do now? If it stayed like the beginning it would have been fine. It was creative yes, but the second half had some of the girls acting out of character, and the situations were nowhere near what one would have expected, nor the kind of stuff they were forced to fight. Nene recieved a decent level of character development at least. I'd give it a low B to a C+ for how it ended. It was on a much better track early on, and I really liked Linna. Be prepared to be surprised by how the show works itself out, to that I have to give it credit. I hope that 2041 fares better, and can redeem itself. One thing I never figured out was how the hell did the space elevator and cargo drop/off and pick up thing work? I have tried, but it doesn't add up. The original OVA rocked and I would have loved to see it continue properly, but would at least settle for a proper remester. BTW, in 2040, Leon did have his thing for Priss. Once toward the end they managed to kiss. Daley actually was gay, not that it mattered. Edit in: Yes a sequel series, 2041 tentative, is in the works if someone didn't know. No details or dates yet.

Well, mine showed up on Friday, have not had a chance this weekend to post. They shipped UPS second day apparently, which was sweet, because I payed for Priority Mail. So kudos there. Max came in perfect shape. MISB Millia apparently did not. The box had some damage from an in-store price sticker that someone attempted to take off. For 50 bucks and the fact she is going on display on my shelf anyway, I don't care about that. The box though was also obviously opened, you could see where the old tape on one side had been cut and resealed. This of course made me paranoid on the valk, but all the parts were there, and though some joints seemed a little loose for just out of the box, it could well have been like that from factory anyway. There is one small nick on the white stripe. The sticker sheet was also bent inside the box, again looking like someone was not too careful sliding the guts back inside the box. Other than that the valk is in great shape, but it was obviously handled. I would guess it was taken out for a customer to look at. Again, for 50 bucks I cannot quibble too much, but it is understandable that I would expect a MIB item unless it is specified otherwise when I order. Kudos for the speed of delivery, but cautious <_< for the state Millia came in and there was no shipping notice e-mailed. If I did not ask them I wouldn't have known it was coming. I'll be cautious towards any new superdeal from those guys. Getting the pair for 113 alleviates any quibble right now, and they look good on my shelf. Who knows, maybe the shipping upgrade was to compensate for Millia's state.

Like the older VF-1s and other fighters that got filtered down to colony worlds, I'm sure some of the old destroids filtered there as well. Their general lack of good mobility is what hampered them but as far as urban combat/defense goes, I'm sure would remain fairly effective. I would consider the mech the police in M7 had a smaller scale destroid. In one of the Macross 7 + segments, we see one of those police destroids take out a Fz-109, so they had to be of some use, for SWAT or somebody. IMO, any future destoids after space war 1 were probably limited to city combat or defense, and I would think given to the National Guard's equivalent on a colony. Any situation more complicated or larger scale would likely be VF based anyway. I would like to think there were a few special op units within UN Spacy of N-ger's or Q-rau's, or aggressor trainer units of full size zentradi w/ mecha for mock engagements. Side question: as far as actual soldiers go, is there anything anywhere about weaponry or equipment for them? All that technical develpment could not have skipped over the regular soldier.

Good luck to you, man.

I think that was more Robotech "creative writing."
