Well I stand corrected. It really is official. Link Seed will broadcast before Zeta does. Starts April 17th. Zeta's DVD release is still unaffected it would apprear. If there was any change there it would have been on Anime On DVD by now, and the bandai spokesman has already confirmed the box set release of Zeta a few times, just not how soon yet. The Gundam Seed manga will begin release by Del Rey April 30th.

Who's your favorite Anime character?
Anubis replied to 91WhiskeyM6's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Some favorites: Millia Madoka (K.O.R.) Yomiko Readman (R.O.D.) Tina (Ai Yori Aoshi) Lafiel (Crest/Banner of the Stars) Jet (Cowboy Bebop) Bender (Futurama) Seijuro Hiko (Rurouni Kenshin) The cabbit's name is RYO-OHKI. -
I have actually hoped Bandai would do some form of Master Grade kits for any of the Macross series. Especially M7, since they already have old existing models of them and could really use the upgrade (MG VF-19S/VF-17S = ) They have been upgrading old lines (Gundams and others) for a while now, so why not Macross. They just keep reissuing the old models (new shipment at HLJ recently), a practice which I find very...strange. Even the old 1/72 models, and smaller enemy mecha. Could Bandai have really given up on anything new for Macross? As for Yamato, I can understand not revealing plans until they are set in stone and ready for a press release, but Yamato's top-secret attitude is getting kind of crazy. If the 1/100 VF-0 is a go, then why not flaunt it, get people excited about it. Several releases have come with short notice lately. Hikaru's 1/48 1S came, the GBP armor and the Max/ Millia 1J's are all coming out with not that much time ahead of when they announced it. Why the secrecy? Give people a chance to build up desire for it, save money for it, show them pics, and get them excited. Their website doesn't even have real galleries that I can see for their existing stuff old or new. If they want to build positive hype, they need to show the product. Even if there are no pics available some tidbits of info at least would be so useful. The GBP armor came as a total surprize when it was discovered. The YF-19 has had no new information in so long that some people are considering it to be Vaporware. At least confirm, "yes it's coming. we are working on the sculpt as we speak, so please look forward to it est. late Spring" or something. There should be no problem confirming it's existance since it was announced so long ago already. If they are unsure of some elements, why not seek fan input. Are removable legs a good idea for the 19 (if that theory is sound) would be a great question for Yamato to request Graham ask us for example. Fan feedback could help in determining which would please the most people more. They have been throwing such small crumbs of info out at a time this last year that no one knows what to expect out of the releases amymore. There were extremely limited full on shots of the Elint or Super O, or 1/48 Hikaru 1S until people HAD THEM IN THEIR HANDS. IMO that's kind of a cruel way to handle releases. Especially when priced high like Valks have been. The GBP armor will be the same way at this rate. Once the first shipments go out, then good pics will come out showcasing how the armor attaches exactly and final detailing, done by whoever receives theirs first in the mail. I like Yamato's final products, which is most important in the end anyway, but their methods in describing new products and such has left much to be desired. Some quick shots in a hobby magazine and that's it for PR on a new product is kind of cheap. Here it is, no we can't tell any details. <_< The 1/100 VF-0 intrigues me, but it would be nice to know something about it. Half the speculation threads here would be unnecceary if they were more up front. And again, to beat a dead horse, at least admitting the 19 project isn't dead would be kind of them, and wouldn't hurt anything.

Preorder for the Alpha MPC is now open
Anubis replied to 1st Border Red Devil's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There's no way I am going to pay 80 dollars for a 1/55 Alpha/Legoiss. Very overpriced. It looks pretty good (lot better than the VF-1 MPC's came out IMO), but the price is in no way justified for what you get, being so very small. 50 dollars, maybe. I wonder how big are the "books" going to be for these, too. I shall wait for a sale. If push comes to shove I might cave on a green one, but we'll see. -
Again, very true. In the TV continuity it was explicit that Tenchi's dad is human. OVA continuity, they never outright say. It could be possible that the name Masaki was no coincidence. It would also fit in with the Masaki "keep it quiet" tradition as explained by Yosho. Aghhh, I can't handle speculating anymore on all this. Causes headaches.

Good point, I forgot about the life tree part. That makes it more complicated now. The one episode every couple months format is bad enough with M0, it's even worse with this Tenchi OVA now too. I guess it's better than having to wait until they finish the whole thing at least.
-
we never saw how the parents got together in the ova. the moive is in the tv continuity! I noted that it was OVA continuity, not TV like the movies, I just thought they said sometime during the past OVA's that Tenchi's parents met in school or something, too. Since they are disregarding the TV continuity stuff, who knows what they'll do. IT'S SO LONG in between episodes. Either way, I thought is was established that Tenchi's dad is human too (or could that be the surprise Tennyo and Airi giggled about after Tenchi saw Yasho's real face?) Too long between episodes, too many questions spaced out. <_< My guess is someone in the the 3 girls is probably more than what they appear to be (=bad thing), so we'll have to see what happens. They had to expand the cast so much already. They're at what, 4 new girls already, and the bad guy with light hawk wings. I am eager to see what the full explanation behind sis is. Two questions that get me. Maybe it's just a "that's how it is" question, but we've all seen Funaho, Masaki, and the King, all looking young, wouldn't it be obvious to Ayeka, Sasami, and co. that Yosho is faking the old man look? Washu would probably already know, but keeps her mouth shut. Also, Sasami's age. Why does she still look 13? Do Jurians age super slow including adolescence, and because Tenchi is part human that he aged normally through adolescense, and will now slow his aging? They show Sasami as a little girl in the earlier OVA back when Ryoko attacked Jurai. No matter though, the Tenchi OVA's have always been a favorite of mine, not top 10 (see thread), but close, and I am very happy to see them continue finally.

I'm not planning to buy the 1/48 Max and Millia 1J's. I'm satisfied with my 1/60 pair, and I'm not spending 400 bucks there. A CF, yes, but that's the only 1/48 I want in addition to the two I already have, if they make it. That leaves me with the Q-rau, A GBP Armor set (for the Hikaru 1J I already have) and the 1/100 VF-0, or which I will buy 1. That's it for Yamato's forcast. If they ever get the 1/72 YF-19's out I'll buy two of them.

Those were the ghosts.

This is what's really screwed up. This is an HG level tactic. Damn shame too. At least Tokyo Central was up front and honest about it, and explained the situation veyr clearly. Kudos to that at least. Some places **cough*HLJ*cough** and some others would have just let the pre-orders sit there until you give up on it.
-
Great work in progress there. I look forward to seeing it finished. Looks really sweet so far.

Ani-Kraze has it. I have to watch it through again. Tenchi's sister said she was 80!?. I'm wondering about that too. It is OVA continuity now not TV, but still, Tenchi's parents met in school I thought. This new girl would then be Tenchi's half-sister. Tenchi's father is just human. Maybe mom decided to act younger and went to school, where she was actually much older. Kind of like Yosho was doing. I like that Yosho finally showed Tenchi the old man act was just that.

So kind of like the 1/60 VF-1 just you have to take the nosecone and head off first. I can deal with that. Like I said before, I just hope Gerwalk on the VF-0 is more stable than on the 1/60 VF-1's. I'd like to put my M0 valks like that since they spend so much time in Gerwalk anyway.
-
My time has been off too.
-
How dare they make shockwave look so crappy
-
I should actually be able to save a large portion of my tax return finally this year. If Yamato ever ships the YF-19 of a 1/48 CF, then it will deplete some of the savings, but other than that I have everything else I wanted to buy covered already, Q-rau included. Good, because I really need to start saving something.
-
Yeah, sigs that take up a third to almost half the display are kind of excessive.
-
12 minutes !?! Sweetness. I just hope we get to see Vader fight some at the end, as he makes his rounds so to speak. To not show Vader in action would be the equivalent BS of not showing Riker's new ship in ST: Nemesis IMO.
-
I don't really mind swapping parts if it nets a very accurate valk in each mode. I just hope Gerwalk is more stable than the 1/60 VF-1's. My only quibble is now my fighter mode side by side line up is going to have 3 different scales in there. But for the price, I can easily deal with 1/100 (maybe two of them). My wallet will thank me, especially after this coming EXPENSIVE February (1/60 GBP, Millia Q-rau, Mizuho PVC, Minmei Statue) and I plan to buy an Enterprize-E kit for my Dad's birthday in April. If graham says it is detailed nicely and articulated then sweet. I look forward to seeing how it comes out. Now bring on the VF-0D and SV-51.

Interesting point. For the same reasons for making big M+ valks at 1/60 and NOT 1/48 (if at all), the VF-0 wouldn't really be feasible in 1/48. It would be WAAAYYY to big in 1/48 to be feasible as a toy. A 1/60 would also look that much more attractive against a 1/100 VF-0, allowing for the cheaper still high quality product, and also the uber valk at the more expensive price point. Kind of like a Master Grade vs a Perfect Grade Gundam kit comparison. To do perfect transformation at 1/72 would also have been really difficult. Like Graham said, the swingbars used in Ep. 1 would be way too fragile for a toy. I don't really mind the parts swapping, especially if it nets a much more accurate valk in each mode. Once more pics come in, I'm sure I'll warm up to 1/100 scale VF-0 instead of 1/72 like I initially hoped. As long as the legs attach securely then I'll be a happy camper. Since they spend so much time in gerwalk anyway in the show, that's how I was planning to display my M0 valks. I don't have anyone in gerwalk right now. I'm also hoping for the VF-0D as well. Edit in: I do have to add in that I really like the sculpt in fighter mode. Looks very accurate indeed. Look forward to seeing how the other modes look.

Official Transformers Alternators and more thread.
Anubis replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You're looking at now, sir. Everything that's happening now is happening now. -
A completed Arbalest would be pretty cool.
-
I had to download it from two different sources. The first one the file was corrupt or something somehow. The other worked just fine.
-
There have already been several possible storyline and when it could take place discussions already. You should be able to find them in a search. I'd imagine there won't be any details until Macross Zero is finished or close towards the last part. I don't see how Kawamori wouldn't be involved.

Lucas so far looks like he will redeem himself big time with this one. Obi-wan and Anakin look like they are going to light each other up. Lots of lightsaber combat outside of the grand fight as well. It will indeed be a long wait until the movie arrives. I don't know if more teasers will make the wait worse or not during that time.
