    Q-Rau Review Now Up

I can see nothing to detract from this at all, in fact I want mine NOW. The size looks dead on (31 cm is about exact based on the compendium's DYRL height measurement), and both the sculpt and detail are awesome. I never expected Millia to be articulated, and for a fixed pilot she looks very well done (a removable hemlet would have been nice but this makes variants much easier). I am very pleased to hear that it is good and stable. And posable enough for a good display. This is the kind of pic I was waiting for to see, though mine will be combat posed: Yeah it's a little pricey, but so are the 1/48's. Transformation argument aside, these things have as much if not more plastic than the 1/48 VF-1, as has less variants possible to produce, and is still a complex machine. My Max -1S 1/60 is waiting. Now I need a Regult from Yamato.
  2. Our existing jets won't fade out overnight. Look at how long it took to phase out the F-4 completely.
  3. I liked "Intimidation Game". I used Imtimidation because that was what IMBD had on there. "Intimidation Game" sounded fitting with Ra's Al Ghul. "Batman Begins" sounds iffy. Not as serious.
  4. Well still V2's design is VERY uhhh kid friendly just as much as anything from wing. I mean look at its colour scheme its not dark blue like ZZ and Z but bright yellow and blue also it has shiny pink wings that make sparkles nuff said. Also the wings ARE built in I Look at the back it has these two things sticking out to make these shiny wings of death. As for a Forehead cannon that can VAPORIZE cruisers and crap and that being more realistic then some HUGE ass gun... right... also I mean maybe I haven't seen enough wing but I don't recall the cannon dudad for Zero being able to destroy the earth but more like destroy a colony. Yeah, wing zero could wipe out a colony, or separate the gun into it's two parts, wave the thing around like a water hose and destroy everything in the vacinity. All continuous fire. Yeah. Not many of wing's designs were really realistic (the Gundams at least) but I still enjoyed the show.
  5. I'm going by Tam too. My Q-rau and GBP are both on order with him.

I agree. Do you guys think the price will drop? Does this happen? Only sales. I forsee it selling out before that happens though. We could easily insert a 1/48 cost argument here. This thing easily has as much plastic as a 1/48 VF-1, transformation argument aside (this thing will still weigh more). This thing is huge, and is very nicely detailed. Yeah, 115 is a lot, but I only want one anyway. This thing will stand out on my shelf.
  7. HLJ has jumped the gun before at the end of the month. They did it with the VF-11 too, I remember. Likely is the case here as well. The Q-rau is starting to appear, so that one may be legit. The GBP no.
  8. Hmm.....I like. I like a lot actually. As always I appreciate the time involved doing this.
  9. How much did you get it for? I never said I have it. I don't remember whose original pics those were. Were they Seiichi's? I think it was 1/144 as well, noting the Cigarette lighter next to its shuttle mode. I also think Vostok's right about the $300 for the model. Not surprizing for a holy grail item like that.

    Newbie question

Welcome aboard, Otomo. Graham himself has said the -19 project is not dead. It will come in time. Like was theorized earlier, they probably just want to push the new VF-0 first. That, Max and Millia 1/48's, the display arm, the GBP armor for the 1/60's, and the just releasing Q-rau is a lot of stuff at once. The -19 will come in time. Like what was said above, a Yamato pops here for sale on occasion. I have a blue -19 and a Bandai VF-19 Fire Valk (from Macross 7) as stop gaps for now. The bandai might be a cheap option to hold you over. Gundam Store and More.com has them on sale for $30. The VF-17 is also on sale if interested.link
  11. That garage kit is very rare, and very expensive. I linked these pics from a thread in the Wanted section with someone asking for one. Don't think he ever found it either.
  12. VB-6 Konig Monster. Variable bomber in use after Macross 7's time, it appeared in the VF-X2 game. It's gerwalk mode is derived from the Mk. II Monster. IIRC, originally Kawamori supposedly wanted to include it in M7 but couldn't for either space or just that the design wasn't finished in time to include it. Pics from the garage model:

Actually, it looked to me like the mecha had pooped out a Millia. Or maybe that was just my impression based on his disappointment with the Q-Rau. I was trying to word Milia's position PC. Reminds me of FLCL ep. 2. Seriously though, the paint job and detail look wonderful. I want to see many more pics.

In general isn't the same true for all of the mecha in the movie. Why whouldn't the Zentradi have markings on their mechs? Don't they need unit numbers or some way to organize their millions of troops? Don't they need markings for the non-automated maintenance (there is always going to be some)? OK, yeah I guess they would have used some. But nothing they have shown to make canon DYRL stickers.

It was a given the Q-rau wasn't going to be SUPER posable. Look at it in the show, it's agility was it's thursters. At least the arms are as posable as it should be. At least Millia's sculpt looks very good. Especially for a fixed figure to go inside the actual unit. Leaps ahead of what we got for the 1/48's. So is the Q-rau itself stable? No problems with joints? BTW, that pic is quite funny. Like she's falling out the engine. Seriously, would the Zentradi have bothered with excessive markings. There are no lettering/details on the Q-rau anyway outside of the regular paint job in the movie anyway

    Q-Rau

What, did he think Millia would be posable?

HLJ has the Q-rau marked "Just In"! Also the GBP too? What about the delay? May be an error or jumped the gun being the end of the month. They've done that before. Any one ordering from HLJ see a change in status for either? Both of my orders are with Tam.

I don't know, we can't say for sure what the final size is until we see some definitive size comparison photos in the review. Or some measurements. Surely at least a real height is not classified info?

Actually that's a Hasegawa. I wonder if that is a real side-by-side. It looks great!
  20. I would love a VB-6 Konig Monster.

  22. Judging from the "Back in Black" clip, it looks like a giant light saber fest for much of the movie. They fight coreography is definately looking up here. It will be wierd to actually see Wookies talk for once since they'll be on Kashyyk for a while. Looking at that new star wars insider there are Royal Guardsman pics in the Ep. 3 pages. I so hope we get to see them fight for once. Crimson Empire was the only real shots of them in action that I've seen.
  23. Here's a question: If the STOVL variant is meant to use an external gunpod (why not is true since it would be hugging the ground anyway so the stealth is not an issue) could it theoretically use TWO gunpods? Really light up some ground targets there.
  24. That's a good question When I first saw the title I thought it would be some kind of new Anime block, then I saw the program list.
  25. Well, this explains why Gundam Seed is premiering on a Saturday. I guess this means we can expect a Toonami level hacking of the show as well. After all this time I have to wonder why they are giving Toonami almost a death blow. At least Adult Swim is alive and quite strong. From Anime News Network
