If I get the New EVA Director Cuts, Do I Still....
Anubis replied to Kamui 777's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The DC's have both versions of each episode on them. Very useful to compare against that way. -
I'll be sticking with my acrylic tripod stands. All five of them. Eventually two more for the Max and Millia 1/60's I have put away.

For 4400 yen, this is much more of a sure thing then. I was afraid the price was gonig to creep up higher. But 4400 range puts it in the low $40 range. About the right price this time. Almost forgot about the leg fast packs and missles. You can see the missle points on the wings. My only big sculpt quibble is the hips. But like I said above it's a trade off between having the big hips or having the hips break. I still plan on puting my M0 mecha in Gerwalk. How far can the legs bend forward? Is what's shown it in that dept? The VF-0S is actually lower in my desired list than the 0D. That I will be excited for really. I will still buy the 0S though as well most likely.

In space Destroids were useless pretty much, and instead more VF's and eventually VA's and VB's were added to give all the versatility needed. On the ground I would imagine left over destroids may be used in limited capacity, or for weapons practice. A group of VF's would be much more able to meet and take care of a group of regults than adestroid squad. They were just too cumbersome by comparison to what the Zentradi threw at us. If anything, I would say the Monster stayed, because it was the definitive artillery piece, and could inflict a big hurting. But even that likely may have fallen to the need for quick response and movability. For quick and effective response a VF would always be preferred over a destroid. Thus new Destroid production was probably halted not long after SW1 and the cash diverted into VF production. One could argue you coud do more easily with a squadron of VF's than with a lot of destroids. How much mecha do you really need for civil defense? An invading fleet is another thing entirely, but that's what the space fleet is for. Light derivatives existed though. Constuction mecha, and the police units in M7(pattroids or whatever they were called.) I've always liked the idea of having some full size Zentran/Meltran Units. A special forces Meltran Unit w/ Q-rau's would be a great addition to the fleet. I would like to think they had some of those at least.

The detail is quite impressive for the scale used, though the lack of Tampo printing is disappointing. The hips are also way too big, but I guess it's a matter of durability vs. proper hip size. Hopefully there will be a few tweaks to the sculpt, but for now I say not bad. Not uber-sweet, but not bad. I would still like to see the actual attachment method for the intakes, how secure it is in gerwalk and fighter. If the price point is right (sub 40 bucks, maybe, maybe 45 if it is impeccable, then Yamato may have a winner. I hope the panel lines will be as nice on the final. Though if they can do that, there's no excuse not to Tampo print a couple of skulls on. If it comes with a little stand like on the Gerwalk that would be pretty sweet. Whose feet are those on top?

HLJ may still have some of them.

The previous proposals looked way better than this. They didn't even try hard with these. They do look too similar to the VHS set, and the render of the original poster does look a little goofy. Disappointing. That seems to be Lucas's MO lately.

Those were plastic molded replicas or something like that on the back in that episode. As soon as the Varuta showed up he dumped the prop. They looked like crap on the -19 to boot. I never quite got that. There were so many VF-1's actually on M7 (in perosnal collections) they could have just used one of those for their little movie. But then again, Basara wouldn't have been able to do his song routine during the fight.

I have a wallscroll of the Vol. 7 Asuka pic, so that's not too much of a worry. Losing Misato is a shame though. -
Haha, Heyman got drafted by Raw and promptly quit. Bye-bye. In the words of the video store guy in Clerks a sarcastic "You'll be missed." I wonder who else is going to be traded come tomorrow night. From wwe.com

The 19/21 pic was actually the original pic. I just removed the Kawamori pic and cropped it. It was one of the few useful pics in there. Side note, I installed an old copy of Photoshop 5.5 I have last night, and not surprisingly I have no idea whatsoever how to use it very effectively. Just a little as shown above when I made my box mock-up. I'm tempted to break out the book I have tucked away and play with it some more. Eventually.

Apparently HHH is going to Smackdown according to my brother, so it will become the new HHH show. Don't know about the rest.

I gave my old Vol. 7 and 8 to my brother. Now he just needs 3-6, which I'll get him during Right Stuf's next ADV studio sale. The DC's are now in my nice black Eva box. -
Never mind, I noticed the vernier rings on this -19, so this is the Fire Valk instead. Also, while I thought is was just a sunset effect initially, the valk is indeed red, so there goes that pic. On a white wall the 19 wallscroll looks a lot lighter than this pic shows. Preview Unfortunately, the Game Book had NO useful Sharon pics. This type of screenshot collage was what comprised a lot of the book, opposite of game screenshots and info. Other than that it was lineart. Good lineart, but just lineart.
-
Here's a small attempt while tinkering a little. I have no photoshop skills so this is pretty much the best composite job I got. The full .tif files I have on my PC. The sharon cross was not in the game book either. The border around the left one should be black to go with the rest though.

My interest has definately been caught on this one. Sounds right up my alley.

Actually, the line reads, "Skull-1 to Delta-1. . ." my apologies- havent watched the movie for a long long time and i lost my copy of it. LOST your copy?!? Shame on you.

All right, I got on the HP scanner at work today and got some high res scans of art grom the M+ Game book. There were not many full art pieces, just the few ones I got. Mainly it was screenshot collages from the show during the game section, and then a big lineart section afterwards. Good Ghost lineart. I'll post small jpeg versions of the tif's I got later tonight, maybe a mock-up idea or two. I did get a high res .tif of the desert image for the spine. The inside cover had the image without all the text, just the logo.

Eva is one of my favorite shows. Great stuff.
-
Millia and co. were not necessarily right in front of them, but also at 12 HIGH. Thus there's no reason really not to hit Kakizaki behind the cockpit.
-
Wow, 110 main story episodes, 54 side storyepisodes, and 3 features! That's a lot of show. I love a good serious space opera though. CotS and BoTS are among my favorite anime shows. May have to get this show's set from Animeniacs or somewhere as well eventually. Once my backlog is clear of course.

Computron looked pretty good though. -

I always wanted a Galvatron that could angle up in "cannon" mode like he did when he blasted starscream. -
I'm really happy that Roy's heat shield is black... cuz if it was yellow, he'd be a yellow bellied drunk.

And there's the proof Kakizaki was still in a -1A
