If Yamato couldn't do a perfect transformation with the VF-0 where even the anime showed swing bars, I don't the more technical looking sv-51 will be perfect. I have a feeling it's going to be like a Lego set where you have a pile of pieces that you use to construct each mode. It's hard to tell without lineart to detail the actual dynamics of the transformation. It seems like it would be easier to do perfect transformation. As long as the legs stay attached to the fuselage it's easier. The problem with the VF-1/VF-0 is that the legs have to detach from their original point going into battroid, and reattach to the hip. Even by lineart, the hydraulic arm that moves the legs on the VF-1 separates and back under the chest area. To make the VF-0's swingbars strong enough not to break, it may look more like a Chunky Monkey or worse yet, really look like a banpresto. I would rather take the legs off than that in a smaller scale VF-0. As long as the SV-51's hip joints stay attached to the fuselage it's far easier to do a toy of. It seems to me like a mix of the VF-14 and VF-11 transformation in some parts.

I'd love a Perfect Grade Gouf. Yeah, Iknow about the other 1/60 of it, but I want one in PG's style. Skeletal frame, no painting required, though for a PG I might anyway for once. Other than that, a PG Zaku IIF2 or Gelgoog Marine. The one I really want in PG is already out, which I may get someday: The Mk. II Titans color.

Help - I need the original characters name

If I was Global, I would have kicked Hikaru's ass for bringing that jerk onto my ship, then had Kaifun promptly deported. The guy was a putz and an instigator the moment he got on the ship. If he was so anti-military, what the hell was he doing there. All Hikaru had to do was say: NO. That and the guy totally got in Hikaru's way with Minmei. Hikaru should have kicked his ass, then apologized to Global for bringing the scumbag aboard. -
I am always wowed at how much detail you write up for these kinds of threads. Thanks for the info as usual, DH.

Personally, I like the idea of having smaller M0 mecha. This way they won't over-shadow the other ones, they appear like there will be plenty of detail, and I know I'l be able to fit them on my already crowded shelves. I like not having to worry about taking out a loan to buy these as well. . I admit 1/72 would have been nice, but this is much easier on the space and cash. I wonder if the (eventual) SV-51 would be perfect transformation? The wings seem to be the only potential problem there that I can tell so far, though I really wish there was some lineart detailing it's transformation sequence. Maybe come with a little arm so you can take the head off and attach to so you can do the "peek over the ledge" gerwalk.

Anything from Sharon Apple is good. The Escaflowne soundtrack is also a favorite, as well as anything from FLCL or Full Metal Panic. Or course the song DYRL ranks up there. I am also kind of partial to Meteor from Gundam Seed.

Move the landing gear out some and the chestplate should slide right down. What's happening is the slider is hitting the tires.

By nosecone I mean I guess up to the edge of the canopy. Maybe the radome and some of the rear part of the fuselage to allow for the atachment on the other piece. Then again, maybe not. Take the antennae off (maybe slides in?), then if we're lucky maybe the bracket could plug into the landing gear well? The gear was already known to be removable.

The heatshield is built into the chestplate on the VF-0, so there really should be no need to do a canopy swap. All that needs to be swapped is the nosecone/forward part of the fuselage really. You can tell that those are different looking at the pics, and also it does kind of look like the legs are attached to a bracket that in turn attaches to the back of the 2nd nosecone, with a ball joint at each end of the bracket. Does this mean the legs are actually one piece? In a way like the 1/48 leg bracket, just it comes off. With that, the big hips are needed to support the ball joint. If that's the case then I like, and can forgive the bulky hip. IIRC, Graham said before the head comes off so you can get the legs off. Having a bracket the legs attach to explains that. If they are attached to that bracket to begin with, that makes hooking them onto the underside quite easy. That would make the legs more stable than the 1/60 VF-1's easily, too. Assuming of course the bracket attaches securely to the fuselage in fighter/gerwalk, and also the 2nd nosecone in battroid. I hated attaching the legs in gerwalk on the 1/60 VF-1's. The big downside to a small bracket like that though is it's durability. How easy will that break? Hopefully be fine though. I want to see the undercarriage of this thing in fighter close up.

Remember, even if it's fighter mode that's 18cm, that's still not bad for a 1/100. I think many are still stuck on 1/100 VF-1 size when thinking the VF-0. The VF-0 is a huge plane. Remember the side by side Graham showed a while back with a Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1 and 1/72 VF-0. BIG difference. I don't have the pic to post again here though. 1/100 VF-0 is very likely comparable to a 1/72 VF-1 would be my guess. So the price point isn't bad, especially for something I don't have to build from scratch, and comes with leg fast packs and missles. Yeah it's smaller than what we're used to, but it's by no means on Banpresto level.

I thought it was Spaghetti myself.

SCARECROW?!? A very interesting addition. Scarecrow can be bad, or can be cool depending on how they portray him. This movie's shaping up good so far.

Wow, more pics? It's like Christmas.

I finally watched MII again last week (in Japanese) after years only seeing the horrid English Dub. I actually enjoyed it. Though the valk design was so-so. You can tell it's not the same flavor as usual, nowhere as streamlined as the typical Macross mecha. Did not like the metal siren. How could they Destroy the Macross? Overall though it was an enjoyable 3 hours. Ishtar was hot hot hot. Note the new avatar. Yeah it's not in the continuity, but it's an interesting diversion. Don't want any toys from it personally, but an Ishtar statue like the new Minmei one would be sweet.

HG shouldn't have anything to say regarding M0. M7 has been available for liscense in R1, it's mainly just too expensive to pick up. M+ has been out a long time now. HG's lock only applies to SDF Macross. DYRL is another story well detailed in the pinned liscense debate thread. I'm sure M0 wil be picked up, just no has yet. Probably as it nears completion it will be picked up and announced. Someone is probably already talking to them about it. My money and hope is on Bandai getting it.

One of these days I might get a Super O.

I'd love to see a VF-0D version. With the 0S sculpt as it is now, the D would look awesome I'm sure. Hips aside. I do admit, aside from the hips the overall proportions are not bad once you look at it for a while. The head sculpt is good too.

PG Eva-01 for me is my #1 dud. Very disappointing. I damn near broke the rubber suit trying to get it on, till I found out talc did the job ok. Don't know if that was good for it in the ling term though. It is now in a box. After that, the YF-21FP for it's color. loose backpack, and crappy fast packs. Acceptable in fighter mode without the fast packs however, it is sleek as it should be that way. MG Hyaku-shiki. Not very posable and kind of fragile (seems so to me at least by comparison to the other MG's I have) Kado Senshi Zeta Gundam. Nicely detailed, but very little posability. My HP DVD-Writer 300i is a piece of crap. Had to get it replaced once already, when it gives me headaches again I'm moving to a beloved Plextor. I actually rather like my Escaflowne. Especially for 50 bucks it rocks in regards to price/performance ratio.

Those were plastic molded replicas or something like that on the back in that episode. As soon as the Varuta showed up he dumped the prop. They looked like crap on the -19 to boot. I never quite got that. There were so many VF-1's actually on M7 (in perosnal collections) they could have just used one of those for their little movie. But then again, Basara wouldn't have been able to do his song routine during the fight. his guitar wouldnt fit in a vf-1 cockpit True. Couldn't sit Mylene on his lap either.
-
Got a thing for feet there dude? Good One. Seriously though, those feet look awful familiar.
-
Yeah, the fast packs will definately help with the thin leg's appearance.
-
Yamato cannot hide what is in a printed magazine: so come on, what are the feet? What was on the rest of the page? Even if it's not Macross I want to know what the feet belong to! Please

Swapping the nosecone is part of the transformation.

Tell him to take it to a different post office. Maybe the person at the desk there will be smarter.
