Even wrapped around the edges like I did in the previous design with the two pyramids? Gives it a kind of unified look like we did on the Macross boxes in a way.
-
Here is a workup with the blue logo on top. Not bad really. The 19/21 pic needs a color cleanup from someone talented before it's ready to be used though. Like on the other boxes with the logo/cross further up, the pyramid can wrap around the edge of the box top until it hits the side images as well.

I actually have a scan of the "Isamu in the cockpit" image. Here's a workup with that on top. The problem I see with that is the box seems too Isame-centric. Not the same balance. The cockpit image is a nice one though. Would go nicely overlaid on top of a sharon image. Maybe transparencied over the 19/21 shot in the bottom right corner of that pic?

I would guess as much as a 1/48 VF-1 w/ fast packs. Anything else would be wishful thinking. At that size and complexity, it won't be any cheaper. We can hope and dream though.

Manga Entertainment Updates Site
Anubis replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My hatred for Manga grows. Why do they take good titles and bury them like they do? By all rights they shouldn't even be in business. I mean, what do they have that actually nets them new profit at this point? It's ridiculous, then they sit on a liscense and don't do anything. Then drag out the ones they do release for no reason. I can only hope more liscenses expire and can be yanked out from under them, like Giant Robo's finding a new home. -
G-savior does not deserve to be mentioned with Gundam. Someday it will become a coaster, for now it resides on the shelf as a reminder of the dark side of live action anime-based movies.

I want my funding to develop demon killer tomatoes. Ah well, women will be equally screwed once we get persocoms in the stores. According to Chobits they shoud start a little over $5,000 once mass-production begins.

Dry-transfers may work better if you wash your plastic with warm soapy water first to get rid of the mold release agent. Try blue instead on your Sazabi: Gorgeous. It does look kind of like an evolved Kaempfer colored like that.
-
How in the hell do people get funding for stuff like this?

They announced a while ago they were doing a Zeta compilation trilogy. It's nice to see it's well on it's way if it's ready enough to be mazazine highlighted.
-
Hey, they updated the VF-11MAXL description! The delta wings are now officially listed as part of the MAXL's general redesign, not just Mylene's custom, as was debated before.

Well, never mind the 1/60 gouf, I just made out like a bandit today. GSentry, one of the few anime stores around here, is closing. Sorry to see it go, he had some good stuff for a while, and I found several wallscrolls there. His Gundam Kits always were a little pricey, but better than the other places around here, I still got all mine online anyway. I got my VF-19A there last year. With the closout sale, 50% off all anime merchandise, I got a PG Zeta Gundam during lunch for 135 bucks! I also got a MG Gouf custom, so I spent 175 bucks total for both after tax. Be building these boys soon. After exams of course. Along with my Freedom.

Having made MG kits and a PG Eva-01, should I be able to make a 1/60 Glorious Series MS-07B Gouf? Is it like a big MG with wiring, or is it more complex than that? It seems like a daunting task, but looks awesome.
-
Maybe because all it can do is haul ass away from trouble? That is a good question though.

That's kind of like the video I used to have of a guy inflating one of those outdoor pools the hard way, and one of his kids jumps on the pool and his head explodes. Hard to tell it was fake, but has to be.
-
I wish they would just give us the dry transfers, they are SO much easier to use and SO much better quality than the stickers that they give you with the MG, and especially the PG kits . Yeah, they look so much better. My Goud wook look a lot better with all dry-transfers. Downside is it's easy to screw one up. Do they rub on easier on paint than the actual plastic though? I've wondered about that. Sazabi's were a pain in the butt. I'm still surprized I got the shield cross on right. I did screw up the bottom of the squiggly emblem on the skirt plate though. Thankfully only noticable up close.

I flipped through it yesterday in fact. Nothing stellar really IMO. Is has a few pages for each season of the original and a few pages for subsequent shows, Beast Wars/Machines, Armada, and Energon. I don't remember seeing RiD in there. Space was also devoted to the comic (a lot for the original comic actually), the UK version of the comic, and of course Dreamwave's comics, inclusing War Within It's basically just a memory lane refresher. It only highlights a few episodes each season and such. One nice thing was they went into some of the contradictions, such as the multiple versions of the Dinobot origins, and the constructicons. Somewhat interesting, but not worth 24.95 to me. If dreamwave comes out with a TPB of More than Meets the Eye, I would be more inclined to buy that.

Awesome of you to set all this up anew. It is greatly appreciated. That said, could I please get on the list again this time for a new BC1 front chestplate for my Roy -1S. My old one has some QC paint scuffs on the black/white border. I'd also like the Black BCL-1 and BCR-1 pieces to stay attached please so I don't have to re-glue anything as well. I can provide someone with my old chestplate afterward is someone wants it for customizing.

Never heard of it.

Actually, Anime Expo this year is when HG is supposed to cough up exactly what the deal is regarding DYRL, and how they are doing merchandise for it. I imagine there will be many, many questions once they make any announcements.
-
Wow, that makes me wish I painted my Sazabi in metallic red, instead of just doing some panel lining on the factory red plastic. Is it true that the dry-transfers work on paint easier than they do on just the plastic?

I will have locked glass display cases by the time I have any kids, so their getting in there won't be a problem. I have two bandai reissues saved that I can give to my (eventual?) kids when their interest is finally sparked.

Macross 7 Sucks! Macross 7 Rules!
Anubis replied to Blaine23's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
I think Roy hit it on the nail. These topics come out, people vent and debate, we have our fun, then it disappears for a number of weeks, maybe even over a month, then comes back in a new form. Not overly annoying this way, and the thread can always be ignored until it passes into page 2. A pinned thread would be a contant eyesore sitting up top, begging for new input and Basara jokes. That and "why is the fire valk red" type questions can and already should be posted in the newbie question section, along with such vignettes as "how could Basara not tag the biker chick, he must be gay", "what is that furball on Mylene's shoulder" and other gems like that. -
You have to trim the DVD covers some to get them in the thinpaks. I bought a cheap trimmer at Staples for 10 or 15 bucks and it works great.
