Transformers the Ultimate Guide...
Anubis replied to Otaku-Smeghead's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I flipped through it a few days ago. Didn't feel it was worth its hefty price tag. Now if there's a future TPB of More than Meets the Eye, that I would pick up. -
To compare something unheard of before Eva and Akira is a bold statement. Sounds rather generic in any case as well. Last thing we need is another a-hole company. Seriously, who gives a crap about a small little RPG group. What would they have to gain shutting them down? If anything, they would have the prior art anyway. No business for Anime Crash.

Swords are fine, it's the conehead that pisses me off. Vostok 7 You don't like the VF-14 then, do you?

I'm starting to like the 3rd one too. The new "mech" . Other than that, I like the simple one. Guess I can excise the "sky" box. We definately need the logos scanned now as well. Let me double check the game book again, and see if a suitable blue logo is in there. Can anyone with the soundtrack CD's see if the blue logo is on those inserts? The sharon cross too, just so we have it. Even if there is stuff around the logos it's fine, that stuff can always be blacked out in photoshop. CD inserts would be nice and easy to scan.

Nope, it's the real deal. Oh, never mind then. I never heard of that thing before.

Told you the China Dress figures were good.

never mind

It would be sw sweet if that were true. Would make for a good pairing of Darth Tyrannus (Dooku) running the political side and Darth Maul (grievous) running the military side of the separatist confederation (or whatever they're called). Even if not, Grievous is an absolute bad ass. Awesome character design, and if he's near as cool as he was in Clone Wars, we're in for a treat. In the back and black video clip we saw Obi-wan against green screen fighting 3 or so guys in green suits to be CG'd, using some kind of staffs. Now we know that those are in fact Grievous's lackies.

I know . I'm tired of rotating the same 6 or so images, too. For the latest .psd I just added extra layers of the different sides so I could swap them around easier. Each side is hiding the others. Pathetic, huh? I know there are better character collages than the one I used, but I frankly don't have any other to use. At least the collage I have is pretty good. Good enough that it would make a good side if need be. Not bad for a few pics out of a playstation guide book.

Yes, the RX-8 does have rear hinged suicide doors. Melissa Suicide doors rule. -

Wow, they took the Impreza transformation and actually improved on it. Looks easier to get the arms in and out. Looks kind of odd having the molding facing each other at the feet instead of facing out, if he steps wrong, instant paint scratch. Lokos awesome though regardless. Removable shades, even. I also like having the weapon as the muffler. Can't wait for a painted sample. Hound and Silverstreak shoudl be streeting soon in the states, right? -
Adjusted the "Sky on Both Sides" box above.

Ok, so here's where we are now: The simple aesthetic design. This can be with both blue pyramids, both red, or one of each: The "sky on both sides" box. I agree with Mr Disco now on his point: the pyramids would look better if they were left whole, so I fixed the pyramids to fit instead of wrap. We can experiment with wrapping and whatever else later on whatever the chosen box might be. And now the latest: The Mech (M+ Edition)

Yep, along with many other characters from Jungle Book. Sheer Khan in a business suit like Lex Luthor, stuff like that.

She looks like a Nazi in that getup.

If I had as much money as Scrooge McDuck I'd build a bin and swim in the cash too. There would also be two Destroid Monsters and some of those Robot dogs from Mission to Mars guarding the door. I still want my CF 1/48. Maybe an LE Angel Birds.

at this time there has been no word on future exclusives. my wild guess is that if they do make another exclusive it will be Asuka. I got two Reis just in case they don't but I am hoping that they make an Asuka so that I won't have to repaint one of my Rei's (I'll just have a Rei 1 and a Rei 2 heh heh).I just opened mine from HLJ (shipped through SAL, it took about 2 weeks and that in itself is a surprise but I'm still waiting for TC to deliver though). I was thinking about posting some pics but EXO already has some up so I won't bother. AS far as the fig goes, the paint job is kinda shoddy but waddaya expect for a bonus figure for a Manga that MSRPs at 15 bucks? I'm really glad I got one because it goes well with my SOC Eva 00 (just look at EXO's pics). Not as posable as I thought it would be and the ball-joints do tend to pop off quite easily but again pretty damn good for a bonus figure. If you can find one, get one so that you won't be kicking yourself (if an Asuka figure does come out) later on. Actually that would be a Rei II and Rei III.

Do you have any of those images available to scan in high res/dpi? I'm not making any mock-ups of anything I don't know for sure we can get that we can get to give high res scans to Paul of. Web images are no good. I more than appreciate ideas, and I'm a sucker for good M+ pics, but we need pics that we can actually scan and use first. Before anyone else posts random images off their hard drive, I'd like to make this a new rule. No new pics added to this thread unless you either a) have it available to scan or b) know where to get it at the required res and at least 300dpi. The Sharon Cross and Blue logo are the current exceptions, but I know we can get those from somewhere, so I'm not worried about that. Any examples I make are just mockups with Photo Editor (while I'm at work)/Photoshop (when I'm home). The big tweaks can be made once we finalize what pics we want on the box, including, resizing, moving and adjusting pics. One more plea: No one's still come forward with an artbook they are willing to scan or sell me so I can scan.
