Actually, the last McG movie was surprisingly good - yes the man that brought you Charlies Angels also directed We Are Marshall. That being said I'm still not too sure about Bale being cast...I'll believe it when I see set pics

Well after seeing this on the IMAX screen, I must say it's a feast for the eyes indeed (and not just naked 3D Jolie) There are some awesome shots in this movie. The characters are mainly hit or miss, the guys usually look great, but the women seem off. The facial animation on Wiglaf's final scene is amazing. Grendel looks and sounds creepy as all hell. Overall, it's a fun night at the movies. Here's hoping we don't get a repeat of FF:Spirits Within's box office.

At least the flashbacks will be on the dvd, one can always rip the audio tracks that way. I plan to do that when S3 comes out to get one of the cues left off the S3 cd - "Supernova" from Rapture

Buy the Battlestar Season 3 cd right this second. That is all.

Some places have specials to get both for a smaller price ($50) than individually ($35 each), but I never saw a full season set.

Agreed myk, that episode (and podcast) went way out of the way to emphasize her 'destiny' for it just to be a Cylon plot, remember: "You're not Leoben." "I never said I was." I just hope she doesn't go 2001 Starchild-evolutionary-being on us cobywan: Actually you do hear her voice both radioed and clear over the wireless: "Don't freak out, it really is me" and then clearly: "I'm going to take us there." But her Viper is very much brand new. The companion says that they designed a 'Thirteenth Colony' Viper for her to be in, but they wanted her appearance more amibguous, so she was given a normal, clean Viper.

He's RedKryptoniteClark with a skin cracking problem. Honestly, the show doesn't seem to try anymore. They try to have Superman comic/tv/movie characters, then completely re-write them to lose everything that made them memorable....

They have a Behind the Scenes book by David Bassom for all 3 seasons - episode summaries, interviews and like. As for toys, they do have a few, if you can find them. They're part of the Star Wars/Spiderman/Transformers Titanium vehicles set. So for for the new show we've got every possible variation of a Viper, Galactica, a Raptor, Colonial One, 2 Raiders, and the Pegasus. They're included one or two peices to a case, so they're DAMN hard to find, but Wal-Mart, Target, and ToysRUs carries em...

After rewatching "Maelstrom" and Evangelion in prep for the inevitable US issue (or bootleg) of Eva 1.0, suddenly the idea of a live action Eva movie didn't seem so impossible. The way the episode was put together, I felt that such a feat could be pulled off and not monumentally suck. We had Kara's analysis of herself, her mother, and her fear that being a pilot was all she was, we had diologue not too far removed from the norm, but just complex enough so it could be understood. In all likelihood, his wife will be doing much of the writing, she's been editing his books since the beginning I believe. I would be shocked if she didn't finish them off. Sad news indeed

There is no way in HELL that the exact Robotech version we all know and loathe will be on the big screen but I will be giving it a try if it has three things: character development, transforming jets, and a focus on music. Honestly that's all I see staying the same. If they jettison all the musical aspects, I'm avoiding it like the plague. That was I found so fascinating about Macross. Not just cool mecha, but a study on how one culture can greatly effect another.

Anybody reading the second chapter of Marvel's Annihilation? The first one was released in relative obscurity behind the insanely over-hyped Civil War and was quite good. The new chapter has the Phalanx basically Borg-ifying the galaxy...

With a name like Allelujah Haptism piloting a Gundam named Kyrios, do we have a religious pilot in this show? Not too familliar w/ all the various incarnations and discounting the fact that nearly everyone who pilots Gundams seems to be a philosophy major, but has that been done in a Gundam show before? I'll reserve judgement until actually watching but I bet I'll prefer the normal mech battles rather than the 'super robot vs cannon fodder' that these shows are so fond of. Can't wait to hear what Kawai has in store for our ears tho!

Anyone interested in seeing Karas on the big screen - Anime Bento is coming to something like 250 theaters in spetember. It's essentially a 4-night anime festival with Karas, Fullmetal Alchemist Movie, Lupin III, and Shadow Chronicles. Maybe showing Karas is advertising for the next US dvd?
