  1. I saw it. I liked it. I'm happy that I correctly called that the fight wouldn't be man vs machine, but perception vs reality. Go me
  2. I'd love to join in, but funds are rather tight right now. 1/48th is *roughly* the same scale as the Toynami MPC Alpha, right?
  3. I'm just finishing up Season 2, and I must say this: It should be Game of Bros, staring Tryion and Bronn. I would seriously watch a show of just those two characters alone
  4. Soooooooo.... which Invid mecha is up next???
  5. It's okay with me, Cap'n. I'm in no rush. ... though if audio works better, a video series showing how it's done would be best...
  6. Cap'n, you were saying before about how the Invid mecha doesn't really lend itself well to things like "joints" and "articulation" based on the lineart. Can you elaborate more on how you modified the designs from the paper to the kit to make such things possible?
  7. Damn, I love that Punch Counterpunch, and even the Clones was a neat gimmick. Same robot mode, different vehicle modes. Very cool.
  8. I wonder how much of the delay is due to how many people actually did preorder through the kickstarter. All those extra figures and unlocked add-ons had to increase the manufacturing time immensely.
  9. I like the faster action. And given that he's a cyborg (right?) it makes sense that guns akimbo would actually be useful here.
  10. I still insist that the next, best, greatest 3P project would be Punch/Counterpunch. One toy that has two separate robot modes and car modes? That'll force some creativity into some companies that could really use it.
  11. I am SO stoked for this game
  12. Let's face it, Cap'n. You've created a monster here, and you must feed us.
  13. I had a ton of fun with split-screen. Especially once I unlocked the FPA and dueled my brother, who was in a Super VF-1S. I hit forward and zooooooooom! Off I went. Too fast to control, but that came after
  14. Needs more Robotech. Rick Hunter's theme springs to mind...
  15. Yeah, Battlecry was far superior. Invasion felt like it wanted to be a big budget AAA game... but lacked the budget, the manpower, the studio, the... everything. Sadly, it goes into the same pile of mediocrity of most licenced Robotech stuff.
  16. *hums the Mission: Impossible theme* *sneaks through closed window (don't ask how, just go with it)* *climbs up into airvent and shimmies into the next room* *hums the Spider-Man theme and rappels into the room* *looks left, looks right, looks left again* <_< *shuffles over to the baking moulds*  Boil, boil, toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble! *sneaks out again, humming the A-Team theme*
  17. So you use a flexible silicone mould and just encapsulate all the intricate parts, then bend and twist and pop the parts themselves out after the fact? Is it hard to get the resin for casting into all those crevices during the actual process?
  18. No excuses! *whipcrack!* You could've shown us how you mask off and produce the silicone moulds themselves. How did you decide on a parting line? Two or three piece mould? Vacuum degassing or drizzle method? Enquiring minds want to know these minute little details
  19. Phantom of the Opera. I enjoy the movie far, far more than I did the musical I saw.
  20. Perhaps this thread should be retitled to King Crabulon
  21. Legioss, schegioss. It's been done before by the Cap'n himself, other toy companies, and even model kits. Same with the Cyclones (though I'd love a VR-032 ). Same with most of the Macross mecha. That leaves one unloved generation of Robotech waiting. That means... HOVERTANKS!!!!!!!11one1one!!one!
  22. So, Cap'n, how would you describe the difference in engineering between something like this Shocktrooper vs your Alpha Beast build? You seem to be progressing on this much faster.
  23. You do realize that after doing this one, you're going to create enough demand to do the rest of the Invid mecha lineup, right?
  24. My personal take was that this was the experience which caused the aforementioned force of nature to grow and mature into the Superman we all know. This experience will teach him the folly of using his powers without consideration for the humans around him. I still think it's the best Superman film ever, even including the first one.
