    Your nostalgia-vision is correct, at least as far as Visionaries goes. The dropoff in animation quality from the opening to the first three episodes to the ones that followed was quite dramatic.

    The Silverhawks opening is one of the best of the 80s. Right up there with Visionaries, but I at least enjoyed Visionaries the show

    I hope you keep that tooling in great shape, enough for a third run down the line. Because should I ever get my wishes fulfilled, I've decided how I'm gonna pose the Hovertank with a Red Bioroid. A growing boy can dream, can't he?

    I can't find any on HLJ's website. The E2406 site had some interesting resin kits, but they're only taking preorders now and I don't like doing that.

    I know, I know, I know. I know I should practice a lot, but I also run into the risk of never actually doing the Bioroid kit because "I still need more practice". And here's the box I received. Loved the signature, btw, Cap'n!

    I don't have any modelling supplies at all. This will be my first kit build in a frighteningly long time. 100-ish grit?

    Sand, then wash. Makes sense. Any particular grit I should be using or avoiding?

    If it's okay with the Cap'n, I'll do my best! Speaking of Cap'n, since I don't have a Facebook account and can't see your demonstration build, do I need to soak these parts in soapy water and scrub the mould release off them, before gluing and assembling them?

    Too late, I already did! Southern Cross is the redheaded stepchild of the Robotech franchise. Macross and Mospeada get all the mecha love, and I'm a sucker for an underdog story. The mecha fit nicely with my head-canon version of the Robotech version of the Southern Cross story. And the more people react like you, the more I dig my heels in with my love for them

    Just watched the trailer. It looks like they figured out everything good from the first movie and doubled down on it. I am absolutely down for more Symbiote fun! The only thing I really wished the first movie did better was explaining why Venom was different from the rest of his kind. IIRC the Venom symbiote is considered criminally insane by the rest of its species for its wishes to bond with a host, instead of using them up and discarding them when done.

    Not as much as I'd like, nor the Logan. I love all the Southern Cross mecha, even more than the Macross or Mospeada designs.
